I tend to simply install/check out/clone the libraries as addons and optdep them. Works pretty well usually.

I used TortiseSVN's log viewer to check out the repository history. It's a little ironic.

Mikk: "Remove all Ace3 libs from svn-externals; it's covered by the packager just like with any other project. I'm leaving the others in to avoid upsetting some dev; they're a bit more unusual"

Might want to take it up with him. =)

RISE FROM THE GRAVE, THREAD OF OLD

RETURN TO US THAT WHICH BOREDOM HATH STOLEN

COPY BACK FROM THE TECH OF BEAR CUBS THE MOD FIRST COPIED

    etc.

    Preview:

    New stuff:
    - Show rolls that started before UI loaded
    - Color names in roll lists by class and include LFG/R role
    - Use skin from XLoot (1.0)

    Coming:
    - Direction and Enable/Disable toggle on anchor
    - Roll "monitor" anchor
    -- Tracks rolls until distributed
-- Shows leading roll type, competitors for that type, # left to roll, and indicates if you are in the leading type.
-? Indication of best gold return, greed (vendor) or DE. Need suggestions for sources on DE price with this one, it's a idea from a ticket a couple years ago but I haven't messed with that.

    Notes:
Standalone, XLoot (1.0) dependency optional for custom skins

Sacrifice a goat or two to your favorite deity to get me to stay interested in WoW and finishing these =P

Finally, credit for my BRILLIANCE! :P

Uh-huh. I think the old name defined the purpose better :p

Anyway, thanks for the fix. After three attempts at patching it, XLoot1.0 finally alerts users of the alpha issue if it isn't there.

    The problem was:
I expect a global variable 'LootFrame' and 'LootFrame.numLootItems' after the event LOOT_OPENED. This is the default. If you have no loot changing addon installed you get a valid number in LootFrame.numLootItems after every LOOT_OPENED.

I didn't validate the variable LootFrame.numLootItems, nor LootFrame.

Because one was nil, my addon produced an error.

    XLoot changed that variable(s). ([LootFrame.lua] LootFrame_Show(): 'LootFrame.numLootItems = GetNumLootItems();')

Like I wrote above, I corrected that problem, I simply use GetNumLootItems(). Thats better.

    anyway:
It's a question in general if I must validate a global variable that is present by default.

It should be considered external input to your application, as it were, so yes.
I suppose it is indeed irrelevant now that you use the appropriate function, but XLoot disables the default loot events so those variables are never properly filled. As most loot frame mods do that do not try to commandeer LootFrame

I do not use a loot addon, therefore I never had an error. Like you said, it's a XLoot problem (it's not nice to destroy default interface variables).

The autoloot setting is checked with GetCVar("AutoLootDefault") after LOOT_OPENED/LOOT_CLOSED...hmm is there a faster (better) way? if so, please post.

    :) you are welcome. thanks.

    Sure, please post or PM.

This is a bit random, but I decided to do a quick search of the forums since I was here to see if there were any outstanding issues I was unaware of, and I can't seem to find any tainting or modification of global variables that you are mentioning in the legacy version of XLoot.
If it is or was causing a issue, I would very much like to rectify it.

Also inb4 thread necro, etc. Still a valid question.

StormFX, I may be missing something, but I cannot find any way to access Core:GetSkins() externally, as was possible with ButtonFacade.
    Would you mind exposing it?
That, or provide a way to retrieve the skin table for a created group?

I understand it is not intended for anything but action buttons, but it has worked very well for my purposes, and was allowing users to skin XLoot along with the rest of their UI quite easily.

Well, welcome back and goodbye then? WoW only gets boring if you let it get boring.

I could play wow constantly. Doesn't mean it's not repetitive, mind-numbing and irritating.

Well, the way it's looking currently, I'll be playing Aion/Borderlands till at least when Cataclysm comes out. If it's still working now, let's hope it works till then, when I might start playing again =P. Anyone familiar with the last 10 pages of this thread will say I'm crying wolf, and that might be right, but hey. WoW gets boring >_>

Well, I actually played the game for a while, then found other games :)

I still use all of it, and for me all of it is working like a charm, haven't had any issues at all.

On one hand, I'm flattered that you're still using it, on the other hand, "Aw shit". How does a re-write with options in a lua sound to you? I'd really like to go the way of [Ammo], haste, and the like who have gone full circle to minimal functional addons.

    Quote from xbeeps
Working fine for me too. Would be nice if someone would take care of it, in case it breaks on future patches though :)

I have to give credit and thanks here! Mikk and Dridzt have picked up here and there, as well as [Ammo] doing a preliminary port to Ace3. Though likely, as alluded to above, I'd move to a much thinner, functional set of addons.

    Good... friggin'... ganja.

This shambling monster is still alive, and that kindof scares me. From the looks of tickets, it's finally coming to a stumbling stop, though.

What parts of this are still used, aside from the core, that I need to re-write? Monitor? There's better alternatives for Group and Master, afaik...

You could always use the custom menu item.. Just hook the InjectCustom function in XLM (Search the main lua file, refer to dewdrop documentation and comment above function).

History is rather easy, there's tables stored (Messily and incorrectly, but that's how they were originally written...) at the top of Monitor. Or you could implement a proper one simply using SpecialEvents-Loot, or just posthook the assignment function and remember assignments.
