Thanks for your wonderful work danielbarron. I have voted on all those tickets you opened (I would have happily opened them instead though ;) ). I love RBS.
I too have had the problem Zidomo reported of the whispering still going on.

Sep 8, 2009I apologize if this is mentioned, but my quick perusal didn't see it. Is there a fix for the new epic gem xmutes for Alchemy? Currently I cannot queue any of those recipes, it simply freezes for 20-45 seconds, then unfreezes without adding to the queue. I have the most recent version from WoWAce. Thanks for keeping up this addon!Posted in: General AddOns
Sep 7, 2009Where would I put the alpha scrpit, in OnEnter? Sorry for being slow, but all the other solutions were simply "put this show/hide script in OnEnter/Leave and it will work." And can I request this script get put on the useful scripts page? ;)Posted in: General AddOns
Sep 6, 2009I apologize if this has been answered, I looked through the thread and I didn't find answers to the issue.Posted in: General AddOns
I'm having a problem with a panel not responding correctly for OnEnter and OnLeave events. I am certain its something I've done wrong, but here's what I do:
Create a new panel.
Enable mouse input.
Go to scripts, and in OnEnter, place:
and in OnLeave place:
Lock the panel.
Mouseover the panel then mouseout. Hides as expected.
Mouseover the place the panel was, and it does not appear again.
Is there another place I'm missing, like an event that I need to register? I'm a total newb at this, still learning lua and the WoW API and it goes slowly. I saw the answer was very common to just put the self:Show()/Hide() messages in the OnEnter and OnLeave, but then several posters state that they have the same problem as me, that hte panels don't return when you mouse back over them. I never did find an answer to why, or what would need to be done differently. Thanks for any help you can give me.
Sep 1, 2009Yes, there is no option to disable the Autocomplete in Altoholic. However, this behavior didn't happen until the release of Altoholic after Blizzard's implementation of the Autocomplete feature. Should we merely ask Thaoky to add an option to disable it? I'm posting a bug report on Altoholic regarldless, or voting on one if its already there.Posted in: General AddOns

This is a beautiful UI. I am curious, to the right of your minimap, what are those buttons? Are they just action bar buttons or an actual mod, and are those your crafting skills? None of them are Alchemy or Herbalism so I'm at a loss! Beautiful work though, thanks for sharing. Getting lots of ideas from it...
Aug 31, 2009Posted in: General AddOnsQuote from XinhuanActually xtoq, its not clear at all. No idea what the heck you are saying. Also is this issue with Postal v3.2.0 or Postal v3.2.1?
Do you also use Altoholic? If you are, try turning off Altoholic and see if the issue exists. That addon doesn't play nice with many other addons, especially in the way of hooks.
The version was 3.2.1, and I realized it after I posted that I hadn't given you the version number. But I do always run the most up to date version that's on either WoWI or Curse. I do run Altoholic, and I'll see if this fixes it. It didn't use to do this before but with the patch updates, I probably updated Altoholic and Postal the same day. I'll post back with results.
And sorry for my rambling...I'll blame my 13 month old. =P
Aug 31, 2009Posted in: Raid AddOnsQuote from enkil80I use Scale Everything for that, but yeah I wish it had a option for scale.
But now that you are suggesting things, this is something I wish it had:
-Shared media compatibility
-"Semi hide on combat" option, leave a small window (like XRS) with the bars. I know I could leave the whole dashboard on but I find it kinda big and cant do much at 1/2 boss fight if someone its missing wisdom.
-Rogue's ToT or hunter's MD warning.
I wholeheartedly agree with both these suggestions. I actually thought about it more while failing in Ulduar on Sunday, and I would be EXTREMELY happy if you had a separate window for the bars (a la XRS) or a collapsing one for combat. I think it DOES collapse a little in combat, but as I recall its still annoying. Really, the only thing I like about XRS is that its a small little window full of bars for things like AFK, Range (zone and near, which is vital for a warlock when summoning), Life, Mana, etc. I like that the bars in RBS can show me HEALER mana as opposed to mage and warlock mana, or tank health as opposed to raid health. I think ultimately the best thing, for me, would be if there was an option to create a bar or an icon for ANY of the buffs. For some buffs, its easier for me to look at them in bar form rather than icon form. Maybe that's just me though... But I would really like the SharedMedia.
Okay, enough rambling. Summer colds are the worst.
Aug 30, 2009Posted in: General AddOnsQuote from XinhuanI'm aware of this issue, and had tried to work around it in the past. It proved much trickier to solve and I opted not to solve it. The bug occurs if something (such as an addon or any of the Blizzard calls) programmatically sets the text of the To field, so that it doesn't trigger the internal length of the typed text to update as to whether to do the autocomplete or not.
I have a different problem with AutoComplete, but my problem doesn't sound like the above poster's 2 character problem. I have an alt named Endorphin, and I have a guildie enchanter friend named Emptyinside. If I send items to Endorphin with "auto fill last mailed name" checked, when a new mail is created, Endorphin is correctly filled in. However, when I select the entire name and start typing "Emptyinside" it fills in "Endorphin" places my cursor at the end and then starts typing everything AFTER the second letter (not including the first or second letter). It used to fill in names, and then just let you keep typing, changing the names as the letters change. As in, if I selected it and typed "E" it would fill in "Endorphin" first, but not change my cursor position, allowing me to continue typing the "m" of "Emptyinside" and then would change the suggestion to "Emptyinside." Basically, it hijacks my name field assuming that I never want to mail anyone with an "E" for the first letter except my alt, unless I delete the entire name and start from a blank box. The temporary solution I have found is to disable the autofill feature, but I figured I'd let you know. Sorry for the ramble, I hope its clear.
Aug 30, 2009I second the whispering food buff option. I'm not sure why something so spammy would be turned on by default though.Posted in: Raid AddOns
I also agree with Zid that a lot of this stuff should be modular. I'll admit, I really only use RBS to make sure our raid is buffed with the correct buffs (and to double check my pallys). I actually use XRS in conjunction with RBS, and here's why.
1) RBS dashboard is ugly. Skinner helps with that a little, but its still unwieldy, even when you remove all the buttons you don't care about. I'd almost like to see it resize when it detects that buffs aren't available to your group, but that would probably be too much bloat.
2) No scaling options. Yes, I'm glad I can choose how many columns, but that doesn't help me when I really need to say "I want this to be 250px wide."
3) The bars aren't very useful to me. Granted, I'll admit, I haven't played with them much since the first week they were out, but I like that my XRS is right there, showing me AFK, dead, near people, etc. I wish that I could make my own queries for the bars (RABuffs doesn't work for me anymore I'm afraid), but I can live with them being buttons instead. Basically, I want more information if you're going to show me bars, and that may simply be because I'm used to XRS and RABuffs for this sort of thing (like AFK status). Basically, I want the option to turn some things into bars I guess. Hehe, silly I know.
4) Customization. I need to have a "Detect Invisibility" button on RBS for my warlock to make sure that I buff that in Naxx. I can't do this in RBS as easily as I can in XRS.
All in all, I love RBS, but I think the modularization is a great idea for those who don't like some features, and see no reason for you to change them. I also agree that it has grown beyond pure "buffs" into an entire "RaidStatus" mod, but I like that frankly. Thank you for the hard work.
EDIT: One question, how exactly do I set up the RBS tank list?
Jul 12, 2009Question: plans to implement the ability to filter errors from the UIErrorsFrame? I have tried both ErrorMonster and pError but they don't do what I want. If ErrorMonster still had the filtering capabilities that would be groovy, but it doesn't seem to anymore.Posted in: General AddOns
Jul 10, 2009Posted in: General AddOnsQuote from NamdrofAny chance of you making a skin for my Bartender4 toolbars?
Can you not use Button Facade or rActionButtonStyler? Unless you mean something different with the useage of "toolbar."
QuestGuruTracker - MrOBrian recently moved the tracker into its own module, and I'd like it to be skinned like the rest of my UI. Thanks!
