Looking for a bit of feedback. Not entirely happy with the layout, I like the colours though.

I like the look - Very Rectangular... The only thing that kinda sticks out a bit are the floating buttons on top of the chat area.

There also feels like there is a lot of floating space at the bottom right. Maybe it's because your target and target of target bars go there?

you asked for some feedback ;)

All my Instant Cast spells are triggering:

    Chronometer-0.10\\Core\\Chronometer.lua:746: attempt to index local 'timer' (a nil value)\n<in C code>: ?\nAceEvent-2.0-32527 (Ace2):322: in function `TriggerEvent'\nAceEvent-2.0-32527 (Ace2):1009: in function <Interface\\AddOns\\Ace2\\AceEvent-2.0\\AceEvent-2.0.lua:1002>\n\n

    **edit**

Apparently most my spells are doing it... no real effect tho.

I got this after updating using the wow ace update tool.

I downloaded the released version from wowinterface.com and the problem stopped.

I've seen this addon before but was hesitant to use it since i was afraid it would eat up all my memory. How is it performance wise?

posted a message on UI Screenshots - Show us what you use!
I've been a regular reader of the forums for a little while and figured i would share my UI with you guys.

It's mainly geared towards shaman but slight variations are used on my priest and paladin.

The AGUF bars on the top left are purely for show, i like to see what people look like ;). I never actually touch or look at those bars during any real playing. Which leads me to ask a question... could i have the AGUF party and pet party frames invisible until i mouse over?

I use the grid at the bottom center along with click2cast to do all of my healing.

On the left i have a bar with all trade-skills and other things i do not need to touch during combat. It's only visible if i hover over the bar. The same is with my bag bar, at the bottom right.

If you look at the chat frame, i have Shaman Friend reminding me that i need to recast one of my weapon buffs as well as my water shield.

To the right of the chat frame i have chronometer which helps me keep track of my totems as well as some of my buffs and fireshock DoT.

To the right of that is my two action bars. On top of that is my own unit frame next to my target's unit frame. I have a small Target of Target frame underneath the target frame overlapping slightly on the enemy cast bar provided by AGUF. I like this overlap because there is no mistake who's target it is. My focus frames are laid out the same way, but are not visible in the shot because i have no focus set.

The circle at the middle is totemus, which replaces all the bars i used to have to keep all of the totems in. Totemus is an incredible addon that removed 2-3 bars from my UI easily.

To the right of the Unitframes and bars i have in order: EavesDrop, DamageMeters/SW Stats (depends on what the group has) and then i have KTM threat meter. I have a little bit of space on the very right which i am reserving until i have a mod i should put there.

I keep switching back and forth from using SimpleMinimap, just never spent enough time with it to really appreciate it.

I am not a big fan of the progress bar style buff/debuff addons. They just feel like they take up too much room. I've been thinking about using something like buffalo but have not really had a great necessity to move or resize my buffs/debuffs as of yet.

In the above screenshot, you can see i have tinytip loaded. It might also be easier to see things since it is not in combat chaos.

I understand that UIs is very much up to the individual and what i like is not necessariy what you might like, but you can see what sort of feel i was going for here. and a lot of the ideas i got was from these forums. Any feedback would be appreciated.

A bit off topic, I liked how i could decide which outfits would show my helm/cape using Wardrobe.

If someone is making changes, it would be cool if this was included as well.

posted a message on Water/Lightning Shield refresh
I've tried running it many times and either i keep getting error messages or just cannot get it to work.

I tried reading about it on the wiki (http://wowace.com/wiki/FuBar_CorkFu ) as well as searching the forums but could not find any really useful replies.

I will try it again tonight.

I am at work and cannot watch the video you linked to, but to remind me to rebuff my water shield and weapon buffs i used shaman friend since i could not find an Ace2 alternative.

    Quote from dafire »

well.. if you change direction like flying in curves you also don't flight at your full speed...

Actually, from personal experience you do maintain constant speed if you switch directions between the X and Y axis (At least SpeedFu is smart enough to consider both axis). I only see a change in my speed when i move along the Z axis which is exactly what we need.

    Quote from Ben Talbot »

The minimap does nothing to differentiate between a climb and a fall, so until that problem can be overcome having the pitch calculated at all is ultimately redundant.

I think a mod such as this would be useful. I (personally) just want to know if i am level or not and an addon like this would show it. While descent vs ascent would be nice, i think this is a good start.

posted a message on Flying mount mod?...
    Considering this....

It should not be all that difficult to make a mod that finds the slope of your travel... if my math is correct, and please do correct me if i am wrong....

(expected rate - actual rate) / actual rate = slope

assuming that actual rate just shows your movement on the X/Y axis then the difference of that and the expected rate (in previous post its 418) it should give you how far you've traveled in the Z axis. the division of one over the other should give you the slope along the Z axis...

    Example

    (418 - 384) / 384 = 0.0885 = 8.85% pitch from level

I know there is a formula out there to convert a slope into degree, but i do not remember it off of the top of my head. i know it uses arctan and pi

Of course.... Herio's solution is a lot simpler. Flash when the actual speed does not equal expected speed.

These ideas are great. But, i think it strayed a little off. Simply what i was looking for was if it is possible to get a visual representation of "pitch". I guess that's the word. It shouldn't have anything to do with altitude. And wasn't looking for it to automatically adjust any angles. Just to let me know if I'm level or not. I think the mention about the camera functions is heading in the right direction tho. Isn't there a camera setting to automatically adjust something? Like when you're going up or down a hill. Could this be a way to do it?

I really appreciate the feedback. Although I am nowhere near capable of producing a mod like this. Hopefully, through all this feedback, someone skilled enough can. It would look so sweet. :)

    Thx

Trigging the speed across the map is probably the best solution....

You could probably do this by getting monkeyspeed, or a similar mod and simply adjusting your pitch until it reads your maximum speed....

Herio, i think that this was my original point. Instead, have a mod take the difference between the current speed and the max mount speed...
