I just noticed now the op's message. Haha. He's a yung one. Witchery simply cannot be ported. If it could be ported for a mere 100 bucks it would have been ported already. I You would have to re-write everything and many things simply cannot be done anymore. 1.7.10 is a completely different game .

I agree with MopsyDoo. In fact I have worked on a similar project called Technorcery which aimed to be much closer and some of my art from that mod (now abandoned) made it into Bewitchment. I'm not against the project I think is great and lots of work has been put into it but is not a spiritual successor of Witchery. Betwitchment takes the concept in a different direction than Witchery and some  things work completely differently. The modder of Witchery has vanished and is unlikely they will return. I think someone managed to get a hold of them and talk to them at some point and they simply said they have given up completely. So is very likely the author will never return. But there are special provisions in the law in certain countries called orphan work or abandonware which allow people to open up and maintain copyrighted work for abandoned work in order to keep work in circulation. In fact as we speak I have the code right here and is available online. In my local copy I have made vampires spawn naturally in the world (and they attack if you're not a vampire yourself) and Witch Hunters will also spawn if the village is overrun with vampires (and not just to hunt you down). Porting Witchery beyond 1.7.10 is gonna take a lot of work and is not worth it. I have not moved passed 1.7.10. I would rather backport features from newer minecraft into 1.7.10 expanding on etfuturum.
