Hmm, this doesn't seem to work for me...

Even after flushing all WUU caches the regexp does not catch the date...is there anything more that has to be done? I checked the Website's source code and really got no clue why your new regexp isn't working for me...it should -.-

I have the same problem :(

The file I am changing, on my computer, lives in:

    C:\Users\myname\WUU

Is that the one you are changing?

My apologies - I should have specified which SITE_RE.TXT to change (for some reason, WUU installs several copies of that file). As Anteract pointed out, the one that needs to be modified is the one under C:\USERS\<username>\WUU (at least that should be the path for anyone running Windows Vista or Windows 7).

Looks like WoWInterface has changed their layout and broken the existing site RegExp. I got it working again by changing the SITE_RE.TXT file. Specifically, I replaced...
    wowi_version Date:.+?"smallfont">(\d{2})-(\d{2})-(\d{4})\s(\d{2}):(\d{2})\s(\w{2})

    with...
    wowi_version Updated:.+?"alt2">(\d{2})-(\d{2})-(\d{4})\s(\d{2}):(\d{2})\s(\w{2})

I am currently using the OtherSite setting for all my WoWAce addons so that I can at least check which ones have been updated. While I do not expect WUU to be able to actually download the updates, it would be nice if the Open Addon Page option was available when multiple addons were selected (or if the Open Download Pages option could be made to work with OtherSite).

Looks like WoWAce went and changed something in their layout again. I wonder if they are doing it specifically to break WUU (and similar apps), or just doing general tweaks? Hopefully they will stop soon and we will be able to get WUU working reliably again.

And here we go again... I really wish WoWAce would either quit changing things or pop in here and officially tell us to quit using WUU with their site.

On a partially related note, any reason WoWAce, WoWInterface, etcetera aren't simply templates like those for Mob Map, Jame's Leveling Guide, etcetera?

It might take a while to come through so if you're happy making changes to source files then the changes are as follows:
    - In Wurm.py, line 1427
    change war.curseforge.com to www.wowace.com

    - In site_re.txt, line 10, (wowace_dlversion)
add an underscore (_) to [a-zA-Z0-9\-] so that it becomes [a-zA-Z0-9\-_]

    I hope this helps ;-)

Looks like I will need to wait for the next release. I seem to be unable to compile it (it gives me a syntax error in any line with triple quotes). I expect this is due to my own ignorance as I know almost nothing about Python.

Thanks for finding the problem and figuring out how to fix it though. Now we just need lejordet2 to incorporate your fixes and release the updated version. :)

    Hi shdwphnx,

I've just tried both these addons and they worked fine for me. Please delete them via WUU and then add them again. I use the Addon -> Install from -> URL... option and give it the URL of the Curse page. The link and menu options then take me to the correct page.

Please try this and let me know what happens.

    Hi Jncl,

Thanks for the feedback. Using Curse, WUU handles both addons without issue.

However, my goal is to get both of these addons from WoWAce (I want the alpha versions), and that is where I am running into problems. Deleting & re-adding these addons from WoWAce does not resolve the issue for me.

Just upgraded to WUU 1.9.666 from 1.9.649, and it is still having trouble with WoWAce.

Specifically, it gives me the "Could not find <addon> download info on page - is site ID correct?" error for two of my addons. I have many others on WoWAce that it checks without difficulty. The two that are failing at the moment are Chatter and DrDamage.

I did some more playing around with this, and discovered that for some reason, when I have WUU take me to the Chatter web page (whether by right-click -> Open Addon Page, or by the Link option on the right), it insists on taking me to http://www.curseforge.com/projects/?search=Chatter, which of course is not correct.

If I set Chatter to any site other than WoWAce, the link goes to the selected site. When I set it back to WoWAce, it takes me to CurseForge again.

This seems to be unique to the Chatter AddOn. All my other WoWAce addons (including DrDamage) take me to WoWAce when I try them.

For now, I have configured both Chatter & DrDamage using the OtherSite setting, so I am at least able to check for updated versions. Unfortunately, I have not been able to figure out how to get the OtherSite option to work with the Open Download Page option for manual updating, or to automatically update from WoWAce (didn't expect this to work anyway, due to WoWAce's desire to prevent 3rd party updaters from automatically downloading).

Using 1.9.649 with hamaw's updated site RegExps, it successfully gets the version of Chatter, but still fails with DrDamage (it worked 2 days ago, so I suspect the WoWAce admins may still be changing things around).

I mention it because 1.9.649 can check Chatter, but 1.9.666 cannot, even though I was using the same Site_RE.txt file. 1.9.666 recognized my existing file as current and did not replace it automatically. When it failed to get versions for those addons, I renamed the file and restarted WUU, forcing it to get a new file. The new file did not affect the version checking in the slightest.

Also, any chance of getting some detailed logging capabilities added into the next version? Specifically, an option to have the log display the URL it is checking for each addon, and the result it obtained. This would be quite helpful when trying to build RegExps for OtherSite entries, as well as possibly helping to determine why standard site checks are failing.

I would love to see this implemented as either (or both) entries to the standard log, or as a right-click -> Test RegExp option on the individual addons.

I am having the same "Could not find <addon> update date on page - is site ID correct?" error with Auctioneer, and with everything on WoWAce. Looking at both sites, it appears they have changed their layouts. I expect we need new RegExp/Templates to be created for these new layouts. In the meantime, we need to either set WUU to use OtherSite and create the RegExps ourselves, or manually update our addons.

I have this strange obsession with always having the latest version, which means that many of the addons I use are alpha versions from WoWAce. I have found that WUU correctly detects when there is a new alpha version available, but that the "Open Download Page" option always goes to either a beta or release download which is often much older. Is there a way I can override this behaviour?

Also, when I download files manually I use a program called Free Download Manager which creates a text file listing the url it came from. That text file has a similar name to the download itself (IE: when I download "PitBull4-r20090510210454.zip", I also get "PitBull4-r20090510210454.zip.dsc.txt"). WUU's file name guess always grabs the text file instead of the ZIP. If I delete the TXT file before trying to have WUU install the addon, WUU simply doesn't guess at all and just prompts me to pick the file. Is there anything I can do about this?

    Hi shdwphnx,

I tried to do this and failed but this addon is also hosted on GoogleCode, so if you set it up to use GoogleCode as the Source Site and lysaddons as the Siteid it will work.

Thank you very much. I had no idea that Lysidia put her addons on GoogleCode as well as her own site (she quit updating WoWInterface/Curse/etc. a while back).

I am having trouble configuring WUU to update an addon using the OtherSite option. I am afraid the RegExp stuff has me completely confused. I would be very grateful if someone could provide me with the correct settings.

The addon I am trying to get WUU to monitor is Enhanced Flight Map by Lysidia. The Site ID is http://lysaddons.game-host.org. The Addon Info Page is efm/index.html.
