    I had this idea about a way to prevent players from making sky bases in hardcore modpacks so they need to focus on building defenses in underground bases or over ground bases. Especially in packs that have features like random invasions and stuff where mobs can break into player bases and stuff.

     

    So I was thinking if there was a mod that could make it so blocks placed by players are affected by gravity or at least certain listed blocks are it would make it harder to start a sky base from things like dirt planks or fences etc. So players would need to build creative bases over ground instead of one big long platform in the sky where mobs never ever can get to. So they would if they really want to make a sky base have to make it from the few blocks that aren’t on the list like hard to make machines or blocks that need to be gravity unaffected for certain structures etc.

     

    And even building bases would be a bit more structural challenging like not being able to stack blocks to high ceilings and roofs need to be well thought out, or special roof blocks that can be used to make a roof out of but if you walk on it, it would break so not usable for floating platforms.

    I know there where similar mods like that in 1.7.10 and back but sadly I didn’t find any good ones for that in 1.12.2

    I think by keeping it to player placed blocks it’s a good way to still keep players to use natural structures or not get randomly caved in when block updating a wall in a cave or so.

     

    I would really love to see such a mod. So if anyone needs an idea for a mod here you go.

    Yes and it ads too much stuff that’s not needed. A simple bug free stat system with a better visual than a dropdown list of + buttons. Shouldn’t be to hard to find is what I thought but heck it’s hard to find.

    I have tried out countless mods now that add skills or stats like damage, attack speed, bow strength, mining speed. jumping etc etc. which can be upgraded with experience points or a special resurce.

     

    But many of these mods run into countless problems. Some don’t work with tinkers tools some aren’t balanceable or caped and most of all many of them are visually just a button with no icons or anything -.-.

     

    The one I am currently using is called Improvable Skills 3. It came the closes to what I was seeking visually comes with a neat skill book and all but sadly that one has so many bugs like skills resetting on death or keeping players on servers in a death loop.

     

    So I wanted to ask if there is anyone currently working on a neat Stat System mod or something similar? Or if anyone is interested in making one? I bet here are others who seek such a mod and get disappointed by the current ones available.

     

    Examples for alterable stats are (Attack speed/Melee DMG/Ranged DMG/Health/BaseArmor/toughness/Miningspeed/WoodcuttingSpeed/DiggingSpeed/Jumphights/Utility ones like Furnace Speed or something) It could also be fun to see some skills that add effects like Sweeping edge for Melee or Randomly shooting 2 arrows instead of one, taking no dmg from your own potions , double jump, dropping multiple ores when mined or more special ones that actually add something like sending out a shokwave (air slash) on every X Hit for meele creating slime puddles that slow enemies when throwing slimeballs, teleporting mobs away when hitting them with a ender pearl or similar. A stat/skill system has much potential. Especially if it’s configurable via config. (Like setting caps for overpowered stats like to much hp or so)

     

    Sadly I couldn’t find anything like this and I have been looking for one for months now to enhance my modpack with it. So well if someone needed an idea for a mod I think this would be a good one to make. Doesn’t need to add any weapons on its own or any fancy items just an item to access the stat/skill gui since accessing guis with a keybind is no fun.

     

    Well this is just an idea of a mod that I thought would be nice if it existed. Don’t hate me for it. If you don’t like it just ignore this post.

    I was thinking that Minecraft lacks variation in terms of scale. Literally!

     

    For example the wither boss would be much cooler if he grows in size when he charges up so he is harder to cage in a small block are. Imagine you summon the wither with your standard 3 heads and 4 souls and it starts expanding breaking through the ceiling and turns into a giant boss would make things so much cooler.

     

    The ender dragon for example is just so small for it to be the epic dragon it should be. Makes it so easy to doge his dash attack as well a bit more size wouldn’t hurt him!

     

    This could also be applicable to most bosses from other mods who just seem to be too small and some even too big for what they intend to be.

    Also this isn’t just about the Bosses you could also be able to adjust the Model scaling for mobs so you could set spiders to be smaller and husks to be bigger than normal etc and maybe add a randomizer function in as well so the mobs can have a bit of variation from the set standard size would make hordes of monsters look way less identical.

     

    Or even an occasional gigantic mob like let’s say a super rare chance a mob will be scaled like the minecraft giant imagine walking out of your door and suddenly a gigantic skeleton fires giant arrows at you XD.

     

    So this is the idea I had don’t even know If it’s possible to do since hit boxes and all that would need to scale along as well.

    Psi is a utility mod focused around the programming of spells etc not meant as a weapon.

     

    Immersive already has a revolver but when tinkers weapons overrule modded MC and even with upped bullet dmg people tend to use the tinkers tools more anyway especially when they can level or have extra modifiers etc.

     

    That’s why I was thinking of a tinkers weapon that would fit the theme of the standard part of tinkers building your personal tools that progresses along with you as you get more better materials and being secondary able to use different mods for ammunition.

     

    And I thought that a sort of Gunblade would fit the part well not being as fast to hit or as high melee dmg as a normal sword but instead getting the small addition of being able to fire (Bullets or Spells (IE Bullets and EBW Spells would be the best fit for this thought there is the possibility to make it work with Psi bullets as well or any other modded ammunition/magic type)) It would be the ultimate tinkers mod compatibility add-on. (Just having a shift click function to add the needed a bullet/Spell book and when right clicking with bullets/spells loaded (using up the bullets or casting the spell on the book that’s in the chamber) you can use them and left click still works as a sword)

    I have seen addons for tinkers adding in armor, yoyos, laserguns and even integrating stuff like jetpacks as modifiers and the like already.

     

    So I had this really Fun idea but since I can’t mod at all I wanted to know if someone here knows someone who would want an idea like this. (If it turns out it works or is possible just takes the idea claim it as yours I don’t mind I would just love to see this happen)

    I was thinking that this is something tinkers needs as an add-on mod if it already gets laser guns and yoyos etc.

     

    It would be perfect as a compatmod for these two popular mods (immersive engineering which has a revolver and ammunition for it). And electroblobs wizardries Spells (that adds staffs where you can add spells to it as ammunition).

     

    Like 4 parts weapon style: 1. Blade (low-medium melee damage not all too fast to) 2. The Hilt (durability etc) 3. Magic spell chamber (part that says how many spells can fit there) 4. Crystal (barrel part that says what tier the spell can be max XD).

    Or for the immersive bullets something like 3. Revolver chamber for bullets. 4. Barrel (adding in durability or dmg modifier or something like that)

    Well if it’s not possible or to complicated ignore me I just wanted to get the idea out.

    A mod that removes knockback from projectiles. Mobs never reaching you are boring. Things like bows and arrows, throwing weapons among other things even Shurikens from tinkers. Should have no knockback and not stop mobs from advancing towards the player. They already have range making these weapons have a little drawback by removing all knockback form them would be nice.

    I bet there are other stats from such weapon types that could be tweaked like projectile speed or a delay increase before throwing towables again.

    A Mod that spawns Dimensional rifts like tears  at a configurable rate in loaded chunks/ near player that act as a mob spawner, spawning random mobs to a certain cap (configurable) until closed (with a special item or so)

    Can someone make a mod for 1.12.2 that makes it possible to configure the base attack speed of tinkers weapons individually not the general attack speed a player has but like a weapon type depending one.

     

    For example being able to set attack speed for long sword different than the one for broad sword or rapier (or katana from Plustic add on). To help balance out modpacks?

     

    This way people would be able to configure these so the various mods out there that can increase general attack speed aren’t to op like getting dps of over 9000 and help balance fast and slow weapons out allot more (we all know that people always go for rapiers abusing the speed they have or for katanas that get extra dmg per hit but aren’t slow like they should be but super fast stack weapons and this makes it hard for modpack makers to balance these).

     

    This idea seems to be to challenging for even the mod makers to implement -.-!

    posted a message on 2 Small Mod Ideas I wanted to shar

    I am currently managing a Modpack project and have run into a wall with the configuration options that the mods provide. Since I have 2 Ideas of what I would love to implement/balance out but apparently no existing mod can make it happen.

     

    First of all would be the idea of spontaneously occurring rifts (like rifts in the fabric of space/dimensions) that act as a monster spawned continuously spawning monsters (until certain saturation is reached or until closed with a certain item). This is a core part of the story of my modpack and I am currently using Dimensional Doors Rifts for that but they are only visual since they don’t spawn mobs and don’t randomly appear making them a onetime thing that after getting rid of the ones around a player base never appear again. They don’t need to spawn any special mobs just being able to have such a visual that spawns random mobs from the non boss mob spawn list would be enough for that sadly it doesn’t exist in such a way.

     

    The Second idea would be a combat configuration mod. There are a lot of mods tweaking certain aspects of minecraft and even some that disables the attack speed meter or simply increase the speed at which it recharges. But sadly there is no mod that can configure how fast the base attack speed of certain weapons is. For example tinkers Rapier or Plustic katana are super fast and when modifier caps are enhanced for bigger modpacks with a difficulty increase it is really hard to balance weapons that can simply be spam clicked doing millions of dmg in seconds without having to reduce the overall dmg or speed of weapons which would make normal swords or the weapons provided from other mods (or the other way around) useless in comparison. Offering literally no choice but to go for the Op Stuff, as there is no way to properly balance it.

     

    Another way to fix this would be to somehow be able to disable the weapons swinging when the attack speed meter isn’t fully charged. So players will have to wait for it to charge before they can attack at all. So they can’t spam click panicking little kids. But also here there is no one who could make this.

     

    These where 2 ideas I had and wanted to share in case someone is looking for a mod idea and has the skill to make it. No obligations in any way XD just the idea I wanted to share.

     

    Most small modpack makers can only work with the configs and configurability provided by the mods they use which also makes turning such ideas into reality a bit problematic since not everyone can make mods.
