    Do DogTags work with Pitbull 4 also? Maybe I can do it myself?

    Sure, turn on the DogTagTexts module.

    I'm sorry to bother, but which file? I searched the embedded library folder and the main pitbull folder for "300" and "horizontal" in all the lua files but didn't see what I should modify.

    Just go grab the alpha, I went through and fixed all the min/maxes that should be softMin/softMax. You will be able to just edit the text manually now.

    Is there a way to increase the horizontal spacing of parties past 300? I've searched the forums but haven't found an answer, so I apologize if this has been asked before.

    Used to be able to just edit the text box below the slider. I haven't gotten around to fixing that since Ace3 changed how that works. You could just edit the conf file to do it.

    This works great but I'd prefer to hide the timers so I just have the letters AFK, is that at all possible?

    local afk = IsAFK(unit) and 'AFK' or nil
    local dnd = IsDND(unit) and 'DND' or nil
    local s = Status(unit)
    if s then
      return "%s %s%s%s",s,Angle(afk or dnd)
    end
    return "%s %s%s%s",HP(unit),Angle(afk or dnd)

    Ah ok, reselecting the default texts did the trick.
    Why don't you update them automatically? While updating my energy texts, I noticed that my cast name text (using the default) was missing the UNIT_SPELLCAST_SUCCEEDED event. Seems like it was added to the default text some time after I configured my PitBull. How should we notice such things without reading every forum post and changelog entry?

    This is a limitation of the design of TextProviders. We have no way of updating the default texts easily as they are copied to the profile when it is created. There was a bug in the event for health texts a while back that had existed for a long time UNIT_HEALTHMAX was used instead of UNIT_MAXHEALTH. It took 35 lines of code to fix this. If I add 35 lines of code to fix stuff like this every single time I'd have a mess. UNIT_SPELLCAST_SUCCEEDED was fixed back when LuaTexts was new, not default and there weren't very many users.

    This time around I fixed them at runtime. I did it this way for a couple reasons. I needed to fix it so that it would work for people who were still on 3.x. At that point in time the majority of my users were still on 3.x. However, at this point China still is. 2nd it was desireable to fix it in a way that wouldn't make Profiles stuck only working with 3.x or 4.x. Some of the Chinese users play on both Taiwan and China servers.

    So this introduces a tiny bit of overhead that converts the 4.x events to the 3.x ones and vice versa.

    Btw, I tried to delete the old events (UNIT_MANA, ...), but they come back after a /rl. Small bug or are they really still needed for something?

    Can't delete them. They're still defined in the defaults and have to exist for anyone who has texts that still use them. The events existing don't hurt anything or create any overhead only texts using them do.

    I realize all of this is somewhat sub-optimal and there are some plans on the table to redesign how codes are stored and managed that would fix all of this.

    There's a bug in Pitbull v4.0.0-beta16 in regards to player unit frame and the holy power widget for Paladins. The graphic seems to get stuck and think you have more holy power than you do upon zoning, though the tooltip is correct. Easy to reproduce. Walk into Ragefire Chasm, use Crusader Strike on 2 mobs to get 2 holy power, zone out to Orgrimmar with Blizzard player frame on as well.

    Blizzard frame shows:

    Pitbull frame shows:

    Note: I have my frames set to fade out outside of combat so it's a little hard to see on black background.

    Already a ticket on it and I've actually already got it fixed I just haven't pushed it yet.

    Since the default texts didn't change (yet), should we update them? Or will you change them some time?

    They changed. It's just that texts in existing profiles don't update when the defaults change. You can update your own texts including ones you haven't changed.

    Totally forgot about this thread! Thank you for the equals explanation Kerecha and Starinnia.

    Anyways, this is my simple health text

    local s = Status(unit)
    if s then
      return s
    end
      return "%s",HP(unit)

    I want to show AFK and DND indicators but I couldn't get it to work as the HP would never display next to it. How do I check for AFK/DND and then return AFK/DND with the HP/status text?

    local s = Status(unit)
    if s then
      return "%s %s%s%s",s,Angle(AFK(unit) or DND(unit))
    end
    return "%s %s%s%s",HP(unit),Angle(AFK(unit) or DND(unit))

    Okay, where I should search for it? Its quiet a lot of code, I only know 1 thing for shure its a "text" tag

    Not sure I can give you any good suggestions. If you remember what you called it that would help. You can try search for "custom" and looking at the codes that are near that. PitBull3's config files were organized by the frame so you can try search for the frame name too.

    I recently returned to WoW, and I am delighted to try out the new Pitbull version. It seems I can't find the option where you can position and format texts such as name, lvl, health, power, et cetera. Could anyone let me know where I can find this? Thanks!

    Texts tab under the Layout editor.

    You might want to go through the guides linked off the Curse or Wowace site.

    I already had lua code for this function for pitbull3 and if I could get pitbull3 startet I would recover the lua-code for this, but thanks by the new patch I can not -.-

    You probably had a DogTag for this. You can probably find your PitBull.lua file in your WTF/Account/USERNAME/SavedVariables folder and find the DogTag in there. If you post it I might have an idea how to tell you what to do but I'm still not really clear on what you want. If you could do it with PB3 it can be done in PB4. Worst case scenario you just have to use DogTagTexts.

    I have searched this forum for the answer to my question but I am unable to find it.

    The new Raid Menu implemented by Blizzard;
    1. Is it Pitbull that is suppressing that?
    2. If so, is there a way to allow it to be enabled and used?

    /pb, Modules, Hide Blizzard, Uncheck raid.

    This is in the FAQ.

    Quick question: Is there any way to set which way a portrait faces? I seem to remember this being an option on the old version of PitBull, but I couldn't find anything to configure it in PB4.

    Wasn't an option in the last version of PB4. There's really no good way of doing this with the ModelFrames Blizzard gives us. If we did it we'd have to configure the view for every model in the game instead of using the preset views that Blizzard gives us.

    You could get the ability to do this with an addon like ZMobDB. But you're in for a lot of work configuring it.

    That part of DogTags probably didn't get updated. Open a ticket on it and eventually someone might fix it. Unfortunately, DogTags aren't particularly well maintained anymore.

    Notes about PitBull4 under 4.0.1:

    Canceling buffs from PitBull4 frames is no longer possible (due to the function becoming protected), you'll have to use /cancelaura BuffName Please do not open tickets on this issue, it's known and the solution for it is providing another much more limited Aura module.

    The built in aura filters are going to be very incomplete for most classes. If you see something missing from them please post and let me know.

    There may be problems. Please take reasonable debugging steps before reporting problems. Try reproducing the problem without other addons enabled. Verify that you have upgraded (/pb and check the version in the top right corner of the cofnig screen against the most recent version).

    Yes there are modules for Eclipse, Holy Power and the new Soul Shards mechanic.
