Is there any way, to show absorb values in the death log?
I know they appear in the combat log, but recount death's doesn't show them anywhere in it..... and it gets confusing sometimes... especially with large disc priest shields, when there's like an 8 second gap between entries in the death log, then bam dead....

Guess this question got missed, any thoughts?

It is pretty hard to define this in an algorithm. Take a 25 man tank. Usually any say 3 full attacks kill the tank. So any or every second heal on the main tank is a life saver.

Another question is what information you want to derive from this addon. Healers job is to keep people alive. So in the case someone dies it becomes interesting if this could have been prevented.

If healers keep everyone topped or just throw in a heal if people are at 10% is totally up to them. If your addon rewards life savers, who would prevent a paladin from throwing out Hand of Protection every cooldown. Or the disc priest waiting for people to get below death threshold before throwing in a shield + penance.

Well, comes more down to showing which healers are more-or-less padding effective healing, while placing more work on fewer raid healers. Say if you had a disc priest bubble spamming (say Lich king, where thats all they'd do), 2 resto druids Hotting the raid, and a holy priest.
You just left basically 100% of the 'life saving' raid healing, onto 1 healer... while the other 3 look awesome as heck on the meter's, its 1 healer carrying most of the hard part..

I've been looking around for a while, and there's plenty of addons/plugins to give you the history of a player just before they died..
But what I'd like to see, is an addon that would track how many death's were prevented by a direct healing ability.
Just something that would track a player who would have died from an attack, but was directly healed/shielded/bopped (might only show immunes, but idk) within a second or two of their prevented death.

    Anything like that out there?

posted a message on X-Perl Thread
Hey, I've got a small problem... Part of it is a Blizz bug, but some of the symptoms only appear in Xperl's (more specifically, Player Frame and Target Frame, but does not exist in Target of Target Frame).

    1 example of it being:
    Hysteria (DK Blood talent)

When used on the casting DK, it causes 30% of his Max hp damage over 30 secs. Power word Shield (priest) spell, will absorb part of this damage on the DK, otherwise, Xperl shows this damage properly.

Now, if you cast that same Hysteria on the priest, it gets a lot different...
    A) PW:Shield will NOT absorb the damage (bliz bug part, either Hysteria should be absorbed on both, or neither, was doing this to check the amount of damage being absorbed by shield), and do steady damage to the priest.
B)But, The player frame, and target Frame (assuming your targetting yourself) would both show their former HP values, but if you have either Default blizzard raid frames or party frames, both would show the damage on every tick. This is also true with Target of Target frame, it would show the correct HP changes as they happened.

Its just odd... to say the least...
