posted a message on Looking for a LootTracker addon...
Hey all... I could have sworn there was an Ace addon at some point to track loot.

I'm looking for something similar to this one (http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info4671-LootTracker.html), but so far I've had no luck... basically I just want a very simple onscreen list of items I've configured to keep track of.

Any ideas? My main searches on Curse/WoWI/etc have been for "tracker," "loot," and "list" but I've not found anything worthwhile.

    Thanks all!

posted a message on Best Addon for DPS?
    Hey folks, quick question:

What's the consensus on the most accurate DPS addon? I've used pretty much everything at one point or another and it seems that they all calculate a bit differently - so I should probably use the most popular one, right?

I'm a pretty casual player, so I don't need a TON of data - but I also don't mind it. Is Assessment the way to go? What do you like better?

    Thanks all!

posted a message on Anyway to dock EEPANEL panels to Bongos bars?
Actually, I had done this once a while back... I wish I still had that code laying around. My goal was to not only anchor it, but resize it with Bongos bar scaling, number of buttons, etc... if I remember correctly, there's a hidden frame (or button or something) that you can see when you are editing the bars. If I get a chance, I'll see if I can figure it out again this weekend.

Just a thought (based off of a comment earlier in the thread). Sometimes it's more efficient for a specific class to do certain quests/grinding... will class specific guides be supported?

There's a class specific tag you can use: |C|Shaman| For example, you can accept a shaman only quest:
    A Call of Air |C|Shaman|

That would only show up if you are a shaman.

Where do we get more guides from?

You gotta write em. :) Tekkub's taking submissions over at GCode (see first post for links). I submitted one for Desolace (33-35) over the weekend which he cleaned up a lot - ok, pretty much rewrote it, lol.

If I'm not mistaken though, it won't be a collection of guides, it will be a leveling guide - meaning that you won't see multiple guides for levels 30 - 40, you'll see one series of guides leading you through. Make sense?

For the clicking... it sounds like you might have the strata of an eePanel set above the chat window. Try disabling eePanels and logging in to see if you can click any linked items in chat.

Never right clicked the status frame, have you?

You mean the OH display listing everything? Yes, I have - I was just thinking of something smaller, a bit more streamlined... just like the brick, but an option to make it a couple lines long or something. I'm not sure I'm making sense, so I'll whip out my trusty photoshop when I get home and make a "proof of concept." :)

Thanks for the great addon thus far!

    3) Fubar Support of some kind where the text scrolls in fubar, and you can click it like you would the frame itself.

Oh yeah, that would be cool... another couple ideas I had while playing around:

    1) I'd like a couple keybindings to be able to move backward or forward through the list. Reason being for things that we can't autocomplete on, or maybe I need to quickly go back and look at a previous note, etc...

    2) It would be neat to be able to toggle an "extended" frame or something... one where the tooltip is inline with the main text, on a line below it or something. Yeah, I know its not hard to mouseover, but I'm all about having the data I need visible. :) Besides, I have CRS disease. "Can't remember s**t." :)

Holy cow, this is AWESOME. I've been a Joana and BKopp user for quite some time and have always wished there was something in-game to make life easier. I don't plan to infringe upon any licensing, but I am working from those guides as my base line. Like you said in the FAQ, the structure is allowed to be used, so I'm rewriting what I need to. :)

So, I've run across a question. How would you handle a task like killing X number of mobs? I was going to add it like so:

G Make your way south and kill 6 Saltstone Gazers and 10 Saltstone Crystalhides (76,87)

I was hoping to see a Kill tag, something like:

G Make your way south and kill 6 Saltstone Gazers (76,87) |K|4150 6|
    G Kill 10 Saltstone Crystalhides (76,87) |K|4151 10|

What would you recommend as the correct way to write that? Thanks for the killer addon!

Oh cool - I saw that Visor2 would let me move frames, but it will do anchoring as well? Sweet!

posted a message on Anchoring addon?
    Hey everyone...

Does anyone know of an addon that allows me to specify frame anchors? For example, with eePanels, I can tell a panel to anchor to a specific frame (not to be confused with setting the parent). But I want to be able to anchor BottomRight of Frame1 to BottomLeft of Frame2 (and specify an x/y offset), regardless of what the frames are.

I'm building a UI where I'd like to link together certain parts. For example, my minimap is in the bottom middle with hotbars on either side. I have an eePanel behind both hotbars and the minimap with a custom texture assigned. I have my eePanels' parents set to the associated hotbar and minimap, so they move with those frames. But what I'd really like is to anchor my hotbars to the minimap. Then anything outside the hotbars would be anchored to them, etc...

Is that making any sense? Back in the day I'd use Discord to link my unit frames, hotbars, panels, etc...

    Thanks in advance...

posted a message on [Idea/Request] Item comparison tooltip coloring
So I posted this idea in the Ace 2 Addons forum in the Bonuses thread, but I think it probably deserves its own thread here. This is something I've always wanted in the various "item compare tooltip" addons I've used over the past couple years (like EQCompare and Bonuses): the ability to change the color of the tooltip background.

For example, when the tooltips pop up, for some reason, it takes a bit for my brain to compute which is the currently equipped and which are the item I'm hovering over. What I'd like to do is color the background color of the item tooltip based on X. X could be item level (compared to current level, aka Con), usable or not, etc.

So the first question is whether or not this could be a standalone addon, or would it have to be implemented in EQCompare or Bonuses? Second question, who wants to rock the most and make it happen?!? :)

Loving this addon so far... here's something I've always wanted in the various compare addons I've used over the past couple years: the ability to change the color of the tooltip background.

I don't know what your long term goals are for Bonuses, so this may be out of scope. Shoot, I'd even be willing to work on coding this myself if someone had a basic hello world tooltip example. Shouldn't be too hard, right? :)

Hey Neuron, I think you've got the start of something great here! The only thing I can think of as a suggestion right now would be padding...

I'd like to be able to add just a but of dead space between the border and the text (maybe just a couple more pixels all around). Also, it would be neat if there was a slider for padding between zones, and padding between quests.

For me, being able to add a couple pixels here and there makes it much more readable... good job so far!
