There's a much better-maintained addon for doing in-game scripting: http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info7366-WowLua.html
I haven't used either though, so I don't know how they compare.
This is a new one by Cladhaire & co to go with the new Wow lua programming book they just released on Monday.

I too have been unable to get reczone working for some while now. I just stumbled upon this thread and tried everything that was suggested. The error I'm getting through bugsack is as follows:
FuBar_RecZone-2.0.$Revision: 71011 $\RecZone.lua:3:Cannot find a library instance of Jostle-2.0.
FuBar_RecZone-2.0.$Revision: 71011 $\RecZone.lua:3:in main chunk
I downloaded and installed WoWAceUpdater and let it install all my ace addons with externals (including RecZone). When looking at the lib directories under FuBar_RecZone I see a jostle-2.0 library directory with jostle-2.0.lua in said directory. I have no idea of knowing if jostle-2.0 is loading though. When I say it's not working, I mean I don't even have the option to enable it once I'm in game and open the FuBar options to add a module. It is checked under addons at the character selection screen and the check box for load out of date addons is checked. I'm also running FuBar 3.0 and running vista x64 (don't know if that is the issue or not). Thanks.
This jostle library.. Is it titled "Jostle-2.0" or "jostle-2.0"
Also, do you have WoW installed in your Program Files.. If so, MOVE WOW out of Program Files. Vista has issues with anything installed to Program Files. This means it could show Jostle being installed in one place, but the place that matters doesn't have it installed.
Either way, within the next few days this will be moot, as when I'm upgrading from Babble-Zone-2.2 to LibBabble-Zone-3.0, I'll also be upgrading the library Jostle-2.0 to LibJostle-3.0.
Hopefully this problem will be resolved then..

Update with externals is an Ace Updater option?
Either that or download from here: http://files.wowace.com/FuBar_RecZone/FuBar_RecZone-r71011.zip
and extract into your Interface folder, making sure to change the folder name from "FuBar_RecZone-r71011" to Fubar_RecZone

Here's the error I get on loading. I take this to mean it's getting ArcHuds library and they're not updated?

When you downloaded Fubar_RecZone, did you download with externals?
It looks like its attempting to access the only copy of Ace2 it has, which is located in ArcHUD2.
Unfortunately Jostle 2.0 isn't part of Ace2 - its a separate library.
For Fubar_RecZone you either need to download Jostle 2.0 separately, or update with externals. This should make it so that you can use Fubar_RecZone again.

I think it's not loading. I'll have to check on that. It doesn't appear on the bar, and there's no options or way to "activate" it in Fubar3 on my system.
Please make sure that its enabled for the character you're playing in the addons page right after login, as well as making sure "Load out of Date Addons" on that same page is checked - I can't remember if I updated the .toc for 2.4.1
If both are on, then RecZone's throwing an error. If you could use Bugsack & !Buggrabber (both ace) to get a printout of the error, that'd be helpful in tracking down the problem. Neither the copy up right now or the copy I'm working on are throwing errors for me or my testers, so if you can show me that its bugged, I can try to fix it..

I can't get it to function at all using Fubar3. On Fubar2 it's been fine.
I'm running Fubar3 and its working perfectly for me, as well as for my 'testers' who're also on Fubar3.
Is it just not loading for you?

r71011 still works sporadically (coordinates)
I can look at the code, however I haven't changed any of the coords coding, so if there is an error, its from the previous versions. I don't use RecZone's coords, so I haven't noticed anything really wrong with it.
You say coords work sporadically. Are there certain zones which never show coords or vice-versa?

Fubar_RecZone was built to function with Fubar2, so there may be issues with Fubar3 - I don't know, I'm still using Fubar2.. I'll try installing Fubar3 tonight and see whats going on.. I can try to fix this, however it may be iffy.
The next thing I'm doing with this addon, is updating the Babble-Zone-2.2 to LibBabble-Zone-3.0. That should be done within the next few days as I'm sorta insanely busy at work right now.
Apr 19, 2008I think I may have found it - depending if you use the same ads as WorldofRaids does (it seems to rotate the same ads as yours does anyways - Travian, Wowdb, Curse, Puzzle Pirates).Posted in: Updaters
I had the WinFixer pop up on a very poor quality ad (it essentially looked like it came out of paint) which said "Shop Online." I accidently hit 'Forums' and the ad disappeared. It doesn't seem to pop up much...

Put the ad page somewhere else: http://files.wowace.com/adtest.htm so people can load it using IE directly.
Oh, and if you report an ad, make sure to specify your locale. These bad ads have historically been found most frequently in europe.
Also, if you look at the source html of the ad, you will see <noscript> </noscript>, this is the part of the ad page you want to use. That's why I suggested restricted sites, because that will disable scripting, and display the "noscript" version of the ad, which in every case I have seen is just an image. Making sure that the ad uses its "noscript" form is probably the best way to get rid of the "bad" ads.
This is a good idea. If someone were to move the ads to a specific page, I know several of us (myself included) have no problems testing to see if we could get it to pop up & report back if it did... :)
Apr 16, 2008Just a quick heads up:Posted in: AddOn HELP!
Fubar_RecZone will be updated in the next few days. Its been updated for 2.4, but I'm just adding a few last minute 'extras' which I thought were helpful - like better pathing to Azeroth from Shat, and adding in some of the non-zone zones like "Twisting Nether" so the chat spammage will stop.

3 computers have had this 1 advertisement for WinErrorFixer pop up, and thats just today - my laptop, my bfs computer, and my desktop.
Luckily I knew enough not to click in that frame, so I didn't get hit by it. This is one piece of work. Its a trojan & one of those malware programs where it keeps telling you your system is infected, and to pay for the full program & it'll uninfect your system..
This type of program is really horrible, as its very difficult to get it off the system, and its usually easier to just do a system restore or a full reinstall of Windows.
I've gotten hit by one of these before - ad company for a trusted site had a questionable ad which popped up about 30 popups with 5 second counters on them, and if you didn't hit close it'd install itself.. Suffice to say I lost my entire system from that.
I really hope your ad company is able to find who's driving this popup. Until then, can anyone point me to a link for the pre-ad version of wau?
Apr 15, 2008Just got another pop up ad - 3rd one today too - Each time it was this same ad. Installed updates on my laptop, and got the popup. Installed updates on my bf's computer, got the popup.. Installed updates on my desktop, got the popup.Posted in: Updaters
The ad is for a fake registry cleaner, which is really a trojan with malware which hijacks your computer until you pay for their 'product'. Only then do they give you your system back.
The product's called WinErrorFixer, and is a duplicate of WinAntivirus Pro 2007. Doing a search for it, you can see many people have difficulties taking it off their system.
This one REALLY needs to go.
