Apr 7, 2008Arkive, all you need to do is setup one character how you like it. Then when you load another character, goto the profile menu, select the character you already setup from the list, and then click load. Then character you are on will then have all of his settings setup like the character you loaded.Posted in: General AddOns
Apr 6, 2008Shaboom, please try playing with only EavesDrop installed/enabled and see if the issue is fixed. Without an error, I'm not sure what it could be. Are you sure you aren't getting a start up error of sometime? If you turn off bugsack/buggrabber it will be more obvious.Posted in: General AddOns
Apr 5, 2008I've just committed a beta version of Proximo that includes cast bars. There are a few things about the way it is implemented that I need to point out:Posted in: General AddOns
1. They do not account for knockback
2. They do not account for spell haste.
3. Channeling spells do not show up.
They are really only to be used as a guideline for what they are casting, not the exact timing of it. For your target and focus, your unit frame cast bars will always be more accurate. I know this goes against my previous statement, but after using them I do see the value in them even when not 100% accurate.
Here's the rest of the changes:
- Added optional cast bars (still beta)
- Options for cast bar: color, size, font size, time
- Made more of the frame clickable, besides just the health bar.
- Converted to quicker combat log method
- Gave main frame a name
Apr 4, 2008Well...after some how not knowing that with a spell ID you can get the cast time, its makes cast bars a lot more feasible combined with the new combat log. I'll put it on my list for after my SCT custom events re-write.Posted in: General AddOns
Apr 3, 2008Part of the whole design of Proximo is to only display information that 100% accurate. I know all about the other arena mods out there, but the simple fact is you cannot have 100% accurate cast bars unless you have an enemy targeted or focused. And when you have done that, you already have their cast bar in your normal UI, so its purely redundant information. The only thing you can show for enemies you don't have targeted or focused is that they have started casting a spell, but you cannot accurately represent when the cast will actually occur. And with the prevalence of spell haste now, its even more inaccurate.Posted in: General AddOns
If others want to add cast bars to Proximo, such as the last addon you linked, then that is great and I have no issue with it. However, unless a new way to display cast bars that are 100% accurate comes around, I don't feel I will be adding cast bars to Proximo's base. An icon or text frame that simply shows what they are casting is not out of the question however (similar to spell alert, witch hunt, etc...).
As for debuffs and buffs, that has already been added with the 2.0 release. The new combat log makes those accurate no matter where you are in the arena, which is why it was added.

Each of these event types will have different flags and parameters that can be used to filter the events. Other events such as cooldowns, skill ready, etc...are not currently on my list, as there are other mods that already support these and can output to SCT. Right now I am finishing testing all the new event types and then I will begin working on the new menu for adding/editing custom events. Chances are I will have a beta version for testing with the next week.
I will also be adding a simple suppression system for filtering all events for certain spells/skills. The custom event system can still be used for more specific suppressions.
Apr 2, 2008Barabas, yes that does help. I see now where there may be some issues in the code, when unusual but valid events occur. I'll work on getting a commit tonight to fix this. However, everyone please do continue to post events that show up white, that should not be.Posted in: General AddOns
