Oct 28, 2010not sure if anyone is still watching this thread, but i've updated SpellReminder to work with 4.0.1. I'm playing both shaman and druid and it seems to be working fine.Posted in: General AddOns
Let me know if you find any problems or have any suggestions... i'm thinking of making it a full buff tracker, basically adding tracking of buffs on self cast by others. I don't want to bloat the addon any more than it is already though.
I'd also like to port this to ace3 and remove the old libs. I could use some help on this if any dev out there is interested?
Current known bugs:
- Test Bars not working.
- Changing scale of a bar group does not update visually until you Lock and Unlock, or cast a spell which is placed in that group.

Just hope for those changes and have this addon back on perfect functionality.
hi cerbul, Just a quick message to say thanks for your comments, I'll try to have the bugs sorted asap and I'll have a think about the additions you've requested and let you know.
Apr 16, 2009Posted in: General AddOnsQuote from crassyIf this is still in development, I'd like to request a feature - ability to hide timers until a certain number of seconds remains. For example, rogue poisons have 1h duration and I only want them to pop up when there are 5 min left.
If this is NOT in development, would you consider including this feature in the official mod if I add it?
Hi, thanks for the suggestion, ill consider it for a future version.
Dec 9, 2008@Descartes : not at the moment, however the bars will still be created for that buff, just you wont be able to see its configuration until you next use that spell.Posted in: General AddOns
Its just an attempt to tidy up the config page a bit.
Nov 22, 2008Posted in: General AddOnsQuote from jokeyrhymeHmmm, I guess a permanent ignore list could be useful, but it's not what I had in mind. I don't want yet another list to maintain. I just want to actually delete spells from the DB. Combined with turning off new spell detection, this would be the perfect way to tidy up menus ourselves. And we gain the ability to reset individual spells to default. Being able to delete spells from the DB gives us quite a few possibilities (and is infinitely easier for users than having to maintain yet another list).
the problem is if you delete those spells, they will then be re-detected the next time it is cast.
or is that what you're looking for?
Nov 21, 2008Posted in: General AddOnsQuote from pumpkin1969That would be very handy indeed. Especially for Death Knights and their rune based abilities. Lots of stuff showing that isn't of any interest for me, and I can't prevent them from showing up ;) Some sort of "Ignore this spell / ability / cooldown" would help a lot here.
I could perhaps introduce a permanent ignore list, I've been having a think on this however.
I'm thinking along the lines of a "visibility threshold" for spells that are very rarely used. lets say, if a spell hasn't been tracked in over 7 days, then it would not show in the Spell Setup list. Its settings would however be retained, just in case.
This doesn't address the problem of having "common use" spells set as inactive however.
On a further note.. the awful performance problem has been resolved in the latest Alpha r182
Oct 22, 2008Posted in: General AddOnsQuote from jokeyrhymeI've noticed a massive increase in UI memory use. I realise we're still in the post-patch flux, so I'm not expecting any add-ons to be optimized at this point.
It seems that SpellReminder's detection system is taking note of effects that I haven't cast myself. If SpellReminder is eventually going to be more like Natur's EnemyCastBar then that's cool, but it would be awesome if we could optionally restrict the detection to only buffs and debuffs that we cast ourselves.
hi, when you say it "takes note", what do you mean exactly? you shouldnt be getting bars popping up for other peoples spells. But spellreminder must check through every buff on every target to find any spell that you have cast.
EDIT: on a further note, i will test again with the "castable" arg of UnitBuff/Debuff, problem being if it doesnt return things like "talented" spells then i have to keep it checking every buff.
Oct 19, 2008hehe well, yeah item cooldowns are fairly easily supported, its just a case of how exactly to list them. I've got a few ideas drumming over in my head for that.Posted in: General AddOns
I'm trying to avoid bloating SR too much... but this shouldnt make a huge difference.
