When I enable Itemvalue, I get many errors in bugsack (35)...

    Heres one

As soon as i remove itemvalue, these errors go away.

    This is r106 (with libs)

Of important note, Running your branch of Itemvalue as my ONLY addon works just fine :(, so I don't think it's actually a problem with your changes, but rather a packaging/lib problem. that's why I was wondering about disembedded...

Also, running your nolibs version also generates errors (22)... Same ones.

I'm really sorry I didn't get you those critical details the first time through...

They seem to be ace core related.. as in like there's a mismatch or something in the libs you provide and the libs other mods are providing.. I understand how it's all supposed to work, with any addon being able to contribute updates to a given lib, but it seems like it's not, like the reverse is happening... LIke I put itemvalue in, and a whole bunch of other addons explode.

I'm in my servers queue right now, and have been for the last 20 mins... So I'm not bailing now to put itemvalue back in, but I promise to get you some strack traces in the next few logins.

Wildly as in animal planet? or in Wild police chases?

This doesn't sound like bad idea at a high level. It does sound like it's going to be tough to do.

    Quote from Xinhuan
If you use Git, you can do all the local commits you want on your own machine. When you are satisfied with all those commits, you can then push it all at one go to the wowace server in one push that generates one alpha zip.

That doesn't solve it for the wandering coder. Someone who is stealing 20 minutes 10 times a day to = hrs of dev time.

Checkins != alphas, Is that really what is happening? Yikes.

My svn reader hasn't been used for a while.. configuring it to do whatever testing needs to be done isn't that big of a deal.

    Alphas are too... alpha.

We should be funneling out code to the masses.. i.e. the developer tries it out in a basic way, a few more people get involved, a few more people get involved/translate it, everyone gets it who wants it.

Each of those comma's should be a package... dev, alpha, beta, release.

If certain packages earlier in that list of commmas requires certain tools thats not such a big deal.

We know CC handles beta/release, and if Dev,alpha requires svn, it's really not that big of a deal as the idea would be that dev/alphas is a MUCH smaller list of people.

The only thing that we need to be careful of is to not let code stagnate in alpha/beta.. there are some good translation, and bugfixes in some addons that have been in alpha for months.. It's that sort of thing where people occasionally DO need to reach into alpha to get something they need that is rocking the boat.

I think the testers should take some responsibility for that, but if it really is a minor fix, like a mispelling or something, we probably don't need to do the full dev, alpha, beta, release stuff... just go from dev(unit test)->release.

At that point, that particular user us just...well...dumb. I don't see the point of locking the system down because of the possibility that it can be accessed by retards. If you want that, don't commit to SVN at all until you're ready for testing.

    Concur..

People should be allowed to use the version control system as they see fit. If I want to checkin uncompilable(I know. I'm being simple right now) code, because I'm doing work from multiple IRL locations(or for any reason I see fit), I should be able too.

If a user downloads this code and uses it, thats too bad for them.

Now there are a couple caveats here.

The user has the ability to not retrieve this version of the code, and I didn't mark my knowingly broken code as 'ready for use'.

posted a message on Instance Maps.
    Quote from Wintrow2
I am assuming the instances in wow are on one big region on a seperate server.

Like: one server for Eastern Kingdoms, one server for Kalimdor, one for Outland and one for instances. In that effect there is probably one big map in the .wdb files that contains ALL the instances. Similarly, this might also be the reason (or at least ONE of the reasons) why they don't allow coords in instances... Cuz then we'd know more about the implementation.

Actually, if you knew coords in instances boss fights would be EXTREMEMLY easy. One raid kills the boss with everyone having the 'record' addon, and a bunch of people then follow up and easily kill the boss because they can 'replay' that other guild's kill.

I.e. Think of a tomtom/tourguide type arrow telling you where to move during a boss fight.

I know quite a few people sent Tekkub their quest information using the recorder. I have a feeling he is going to wait a while to make it available to the public though. He doesn't want to encourage mindless questing unless you have already done it before.

While I see his point, I don't think him not adding the guides will prevent people from looking for (and getting) guides.

They will just turn to another addon. Not publishing may also cause people to stop recording, as they don't see their output.

    Tekkub can you comment?

I'd love to be able to select alphas individually.. I understand how some addons work internally, and am willing to be a helpful tester (i.e. alphas), but other addons I dont want alphas.
