Is there any way to setup WUU to look at a SVN repository? I see how you can set it up to look at specific (hardcoded?) svn repositories, but I can't seem to find a way to have it look at a SVN Url I provide.

Really great work with this updater. Clearly the best one out there.

There is another LDB based one that does have a simple 5SR... Well at least it has an LDB Display with your mana regen on it and a 5 dot cooldown

    I.e.

Hypothetically, I'm normally 800 mana regen,

    so the LDB Display shows

    800

then I cast, and I get my within 5SR regen (400?) and the LDB display shows this:

    .....400

    then 1 second passes
    ....400
    ...400
    ..400
    .400
    800

It's not as good as the original 5sr or muse, but it does work good enough.

It might be LDB_CasterStats.. but I'm not sure

When I get back home, I'll get the name.

TBH, as a non-officer raider I'd quite like this addon. I bid on a marginal upgrade and so do 4 other people. Do I have type to inspect each person and see whether I should withdraw my bid cos the item is a bigger upgrade for one of the other people?

Would be nice to do a quick eyeball at some mod and I can have an approximate guess as to whether the item I'm about to win is better for someone else who's bidding but has less DKP than me.

(this is using a zero-sum DKP system btw, static prices for each item).

I'd really like to try and keep the "How I would use this addon" to a minimum, as it encourages, "your system is flawed/better"....i.e. a bunch of posts that aren't really addon ideas, but rather discussion on loot distribution and raiding in general.

Let's just say the addon does and inspect for a given slot across the raid, and outputs the results, and you can filter the results by class/role..

    Cloth_Healer
    Cloth_DPS

    Healer
    DPS
    Tank

    etc.

Whoa.. hold on.. please keep the details of the pluses and minuses of loot distribution systems to a minimum...

The point here is that this is an easy way to AUTOMATE some of the things that Phanx said.. Depending on someone else to install ratingsbuster, then whisper you stats, etc.

Even in the loot council approach mentioned, you're going to have to inspect a bunch of people...

not all guilds are giant.. some struggle to get 10 people for naxx. some typically pug 1-2 people...

The point here is to streamline non-dkp distribution of loot, using a tool that automates the inspect, and remembers the values of different inspected people, outputting them easily for comparison.

I don't want to get into whether or not DKP is the 'best' way to distribute loot, or loot council is, or Kings, or Zero sum or ... you get the idea.

Just the idea of a way to quickly compare a slot amongst a raid... Starting simply with just item level.

using itemlevel is a nice starting point... but shouldn't be the only consideration.

Indeed.. we're not going to build a manned spacecraft to pluto right away.. let's start with the moon, change it/add to ti a little to go to mars, then add in more to go somewhere else.

In other words, I'm an iterator, not a waterfaller :p

I think the real complexity of the mod is in what is an upgrade.. Thats the toughest part to write, and the likeliest to fail in waterfall style development.(If it were easy,Itemvalue/pawn wouldn't exist).

However, starting with Itemlevel, and then adding in some code to use previously agreed apon class/talenspec specific pawnstrings would be an interesting approach, and a logical next step.

    :)

Personally, I would use this addon if it just did Itemlevel. but if it used those pawnstrings/ItemValue strings, wowzers.

A thought I had for handing out loot would be to take a look at Ilevel for everyone in the raid for a given slot..

I.e. cloth shoulders drop, Take a look at all cloth wearing people, look at their shoulder slot, remember Ilevel.

    Sort this list by Ilevel.

    output to chat frame

That way you have an order to go through for checking..

I don't know what the inspect range is, but everyone would have to run up to get their badges, so everyone will be running into a common point at the end of the fight..

Some logic could be put in place for weapons, so that only people who can use the item are listed.

I don't think that's possible (if there's some magic sauce I don't know about, hopefully the gurus will jump in and correct me). If you're using a fixed-width font in your chat frame, then the output should actually be evenly spaced and fairly tabular (minus the column headers, of course). But there's no way to guarantee that whoever is viewing the outputted report is using a fixed-width font, and therefore everyone will probably see a slightly crooked display.

How are the Facepalmers and ORLY people getting this to work? Or is what you're saying is that the facepalmers and ORLY people dont really care, and for some people who have a fixed width font (which I probably do), it looks good, and anyone who doesn't have a fixed width font it will look crappy.

ok.. I understand that.. How about the column headers tho? I think that's still useful even if you don't put column |'s in the output.

    That's a good feature..
Is there any ability to improve the chat output? People are able to make FacePalm ascii art, so making a spaced chat output seems like it would be ok..

    For example.
I'd love to see the chat output have column headers, and columns, etc.

I.e. I think it's possible to make a small ascii 3 column table

For example, we have a healer channel, where we regroup after a wipe.. "why did so and so die?" etc. I'm often linking in acheron.. but when I do, it just links the 1 line, or a few lines in a ?Space delimited way..
    Time | Health | Dmg | Message
     0.4501 | (25000) | -23991 | Hulk smash
     0.4300 | (1001) | -2000 | Hulk Breath Dot
     0.0 | (-1) | | Death

Is this sort of tabular output in chat possible?

Does anyone know why WUU isn't picking up the latest version of some files?

For example, I'm not getting the latest version of baggins via WUU on curse-gaming.

    http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/baggins.aspx

I'm retrieving Baggins-r81829.2... this is not the latest version.. I'm not sure why this is happening.

I noticed this, and manually downloaded the latest version, deleted the Baggins dir, installed the latest version, and then ran WUU... It then proceeded to downgrade my baggins to from Baggins beta-2008-10-15-30000 to Baggins-r81829.2..

    Any ideas?

Very nice work on this addon.. It's a lean mean, raid tracking machine..

Any thoughts on putting an auto cull in there, as a non default option? I.e. Auto delete raids that are older than X weeks?

Is there any way to see a reverse lookup in the item tooltip? I.e.

If I mouse over something I'd love to be able to see this item is in x.y.z, and a.b

There isn't any harm in publically posting this right? I.e. you couldn't use the info to either cheat, or craft an addon that maliciously withdraws/destroys currency, right?

If yes, I'll PM the information to the author..

If no, I'll post it here.. It will take a little while to document.. I'm stretched for time right now (what part about "Fast,Good,Cheap,pick2" do people not understand?), so i'm only really able to play wow raiding...

Actually, I'm sober now, and it's not hard to duplicate this at all... I do not have show in bag checked, yet my badges are in my bag, and in my currency tab. Dragging them from my baggins bag, to my baggins bank bag, withdraws the currency from my currency tab(changing it to zero), and puts it in the bank.. Right clicking on a currency item puts it into the currency tab, and puts it into my baggins bag.

I'll try to reproduce this tonight without baggins... Maybe it's an account thing.

    e. Rank addition/removal migration tool.

Nothing like having to add a new rank and hand-re-rank 200 toons because Blizzard failed at implementing this properly. May not be worth the effort required, though. :)

Ugh.. agreed. this would be awesome. In an alt guild I'm in, someone decided that we should have an "Alt" rank for all of the ranks.. I.e. Officer, Officer Alt, Veteran, Veteran Alt, etc...

To add insult to injury, the ranks were not numerically in order.. I.e. when you promote/demote it does it based on the numerical index of the rank... the ranks were not in numerical order, so it meant promoting people 'through' ranks to get them to their proper place.

Being a little OCD, I decided this was a wreck, and decided to drop alt ranks (just use the character note FFS), and also fix the numerical problem.

~300 character moves later, we were back down to 5 ranks (leader, officer, veteran, member, Initiate)

I was appalled at how difficult it was to accomplish what I thought was going to be initially simple... More so, I didn't like how there wasn't much documentation on how things worked, and how people should plan ahead, before doing anything, so that they don't create a problem over time that takes hours to fix.
