Bar2 and 7-10 are disabled right now.
1 and 3-6 are enabled and should resemble the Bartender2 Bars. I had to re-order them because of the button ids used and easier setup :)

Nov 21, 2006Hello,Posted in: General AddOns
Bartender3 for TBC is ready for first testing
1. Basic Mode
- Up to 10 Bars with upto 12 Buttons each ( only 5 bars enabled by default )
- Configurable in Rows from 1 to 12
- Full Style control ( Alpha, Scale, Button Zoom, Padding )
- Stance Swap on all Bars ( fully configurable )
- Self-Cast on CTRL/ALT/SHIFT or Right-click ( configurable )
- Range recoloring
- Cooldown count support for external addons
- Dreamlayout integrated!
- FuBarPlugin for Configuration
- CTRL/SHIFT/ALT Swap on all bars
- Manual Page Swaping
- Fade-In of Bars on Mouseover
You can get Bartender3 from SVN ( trunk ) or the files page.
This version of Bartender3 was only tested on the Beta Realms, and i wont guarantee that it works on PTR, so if someone could actually test that, it would be great
Please post Bug Reports, Feature Requests, Suggestions into this thread.
For a quick and clean BT3 release.

With latest version Keyring doesn't show. When I attempt to toggle it on/off with the command, the Backpack icon appears/disappears.
Interesting, will need to check that
Nov 21, 2006Just to inform you, BT3 is basically ready for use, except the Keybindings :)Posted in: General AddOns
You can setup Bindings for the Bar1 from the Keybindings UI using the default ActionBar Bindings
Grep it from branches, i will setup a readme and a todo list and create a new "release" thread soon.
Nov 20, 2006We can only switch the pages with the StateHeader, which is a new template in 2.0 and allows stuff in a secure environment. But it only allows changing the State with the Modifier keys, not all other keys.Posted in: General AddOns

Mod is working great in TBC. Bye bye TrinityButtons!
Only thing I miss is RedRange or RangeRecolor working with it.
something like that will be integrated soon
BT3 now uses the Actionbar bindings for the Mainbar, not for the others, need to work on that.

Since BT3 will not use the blizzard buttons it can't use the standard blizzard action bar keybindings, can it ?
Sure it can, if i want it to :)
But i am not sure i want to, because of the great confusing people have then

for the keybindings, am i going to be able to adjust them through the Blizzard keybindings, or am i going to have to adjust them through the BT3 UI like with DAB? i'd prefer the former.
actually, thats one open point. Personally, i really like the way Trinity Buttons does it, and maybe at some point something like that may be cool :)
But for simple mode, i will add keybindings to the blizzard keybinding interface.
For advanced mode, we kill all our button logic, and the keybindings in the interface options possibly wont be customizable enough.
If you have real good suggestions howto deal with keybindings, please tell me.

One thing I really miss, in the few minutes of playing with b3, is sticky frames, trying to rebuild my ui in the test realm.. not much fun :(
Also it doesnt look like it controls the bags/miniicons like b2 does, or did I miss something?
not done yet

So, bar 2 and bar 6 are going to be switched with each other compared to the Blizzard UI? So if I use a different PC without BT3 installed, all of my buttons for those bars are going to be in the wrong place?
Sorry, just needing a little clarification there. Not sure why that change would be necessary if that is the case.
"Bar2" will be using the buttons which are in the Page2 of the MainActionbar .. blizzard does not use it in any bar.
Bar6 will use the buttons, which are now in Bar2 when you use Bartender2
The default layout with a vanilla setup of BT3 will Hide Bar2 and use it as Page2 for Bar1 as well, and place Bar6 where Bar2 would be, so for BT2 users, you wont notice any difference, if you just keep in Mind that Bar6 is good for ya. :D

I don't like the automatic button id pool thing. You make one bar shorter, make one longer, and try to reverse that you will end up with a puzzle game ;)
Even more complicated if you play wow on a second box or try to reconstruct your bars after you loose your savedvariables.
if you do that too often, you should think about planning your UI before actually doing that :)
Of course the automated pool will try to be intelligent, reserve the IDs non-fragmented. at least thats what i am planning.

Will it still be using the default IDs for the simple mode?
A bonus of creating your own buttons will be a reduction in the 5 million "NEED MORE BARS" posts per hour I guess. ;)
Yes it will be using the default IDs in simple mode, only bar6 and 2 will be inverted due to weirdness reasons.
Nov 16, 2006No, it will not be reusing them.Posted in: General AddOns
We decided to change to our own buttons because we wanted more flexibility, and even some stuff we had in BT2 was not possible anymore with the BC Default Buttons.
Nov 16, 2006I have updated the first post to reflect some Design changes i applied lately.Posted in: General AddOns
Simple and Enhanced got merged into "Basic", you can completly disable the Bars you dont want, and they wont get loaded and the frames wont be created. So you can emulate the complete Bartender2 Feeling.
Ive also added some more detailed information about the design. Please comment :)
