When setting up custom bars is there anyway to have multiple de/buffs associated with one bar? I can almost do what I want with conditions and creating a notify bar, but the result can't be a duration as far as I can tell :\

Would it make sense to offer a spell list as a source?

So close to being able to consolidate most of my aura tracking addons, lol

I was looking at the code for the UNIT_SPELLCAST_* and ResComm_* events, and somewhere my brain went "Wouldn't some of this be slimmed down if I used the ResComm:IsUnitBeingRessed(name, resser) API" mentioned on the LibResComm page? rabbit added the resser return in an update. Check that API instead of passing variables to functions is what I mean.

IsUnitBeingRessed just checks LRC's internal registry, which is built with player and comm events. The callbacks contain the same info, so I'm not sure what you would change.

Fixed the version popup. It was using GetAddOnMetadata to get the version, so unless the user had LRC loading disembedded, the version would always be nil. I don't really see the point of the popup, though, do people still run in a totally disembedded environment? Pretty silly.

As far as SR1 vs SR2, the casting detection code looks rather similar now (functionally the same), so it would be awkward if they didn't pick up the same casts.

heh, my point was to get the library into popular addons simply so people will have it and send you their infos :D

UNIT_SPELLCAST_SENT is player only ;[ I basically rewrote LibResComm before testing the only event you can use to get a target at the start of a cast, then went to play with it only to find it was only catching my spells z.z

http://paste.wowace.com/2264/ was my result if you want to look at it (not much testing, just sat in a party with someone and we both starting ghealing), did work as a drop in replacement for LibResComm as far as SmartRes2 was concerned though :p), but in the end if it's not the player it relies on guessing /shrug

Edit: So I was bored and fleshed out that library a bit more, but I can't edit the paste :'(. And no offense, but your dry coded code is a train wreck >.>

You can throw this in LibResComm-1.0 where appropriate without having to bump its major version.

    local real_target, realm = string.split("-", targetName, 2)

-- If the target is on the current realm, real_target will be nil - set it as targetName.
    real_target = real_target or targetName

eh? strsplit will return the full string if there's no delimiter match, not nil. It ends up working like intended, but not as described (real_target will either be targetName or the name part of a name-realm string)

Edit: just realized that was from three weeks ago, lol.

Kind of silly SPELL_CAST_START and UNIT_SPELLCAST_START don't include the target and UNIT_SPELLCAST_SENT is player only ;[ Not having a way to programmatically get the spell target at the start of the cast is just plain annoying.

Need to slip LibResComm into something like pitbull, grid, or dbm, lol

Went from the last 2.0 release to now being back on alphas, nice work :p One question, though: Is there an AceDB profile selector hidden away somewhere yet? My different chars have different layouts and care about different warnings, so it would be nice to split it up again.

Also, as another raid leader, why do you need to see raid warnings? Just not trust the information that is being sent or what? Because it annoys the piss out of me to see someone else's raid warnings, lol.

One of the things I'm digging right now is that I can still broadcast a message but turn off bars for things that aren't relevant to me. Yaaay bitflag feature.

I, too, am a bit sad to see the direction BW headed off to after r5890. Seemed like a good place to start a branch and head off into BigWigs3 instead of ripping apart and changing what was already there.

I'll probably be waiting awhile to update to see where this line of changes takes us.

I will still use BW over DBM as I always have, but I, too, have kept the broadcasting on for leading pugs, etc, and enjoyed the granular bossblock/raidwarn settings that have always been there.
