Recently I started poking around with ElvUI, which is of course not hosted by Curse. When building a plugin addon that will be hosted on Curse, I wondered if the required-dependency field in the pkgmeta should read - elvui or should that section be left out?

To get AP and Rep items you need to:
- Scan all the items in each inventory bag
- Scan the tooltip of each item found in step #1 for the common phrase of that item type
I can't remember what the phrases are but it will be something like "Add %d Artifact Power to your currently equipped Artifact" and something similar for Rep items.
There are Blizzard GlobalStrings you can search to see if there is an already localized phrase you can use.

I am using Archy 22.214.171.124 and since the last patch (7.3) I can no longer view the archy window showing where nodes are to be and what artifacts we are working towards. Please help me! I've tried changing things but to no avail. I'm at a loss and cannot do archaeology at all at this point.Scroll up and read my previous post.

I will post a Dropbox link after I log out today. I am curious if this AddOn is going to be maintained?

Edit: here's the link.

The setter functions becoming protected makes sense, even if that does mess up addons. Mainly because addons cannot anymore do silly things like setting random ranks to guild members or mess with permissions without human input verifying the change.
What I am wondering is if the getter functions are also affected?

The arrow doesn't work in some locations; sometimes not at all and sometimes with odd behaviour. If I am in my class hall and set a waypoint to a world quest in Suramar, as soon as I zone out of my hall the arrow disappears. That is because the halls are instanced and TomTom cannot get the player position.
Maybe it is fixed now (I doubt it) but the Death Knight starting location had this issue as well.
So.... where is your Rogue when you set a waypoint?
As a side note, deleting your Cache folder does nothing for addons, with the possible exception of data retrieval like GetItemInfo() calls when your client has never seen a particular item since last reset.

Another factor is if your updated code would qualify as "significantly altered" from the original as to be its own thing by now. If so, then perhaps the "Fair Use" rule may apply. I am not a lawyer, therefore will try to be generic in my answer: modifying the code to stay current with Blizzard's API is not a significant alteration, but if you had to rewrite whole functions (your own code) in response to the Blizzard API changes might qualify.
For example, if the original code crunched 100 lines because PlaySound() up to 7.2.5 expected a string value and suddenly with 7.3 PlaySound() needs a numerical value and you can change the addon code from 100 lines to 10 as a result, then it is a significant change. But simply switching the input from string to number to keep current with PlaySound() is not significant.
In other words, look at your current version of SexyReputation and compare it to the last known version from the orignal author. If the two are very different, then rename the appropriate things (addon name, tweak function names, variables) as much as possible (addon name MUST be changed because it is not SexyReputation anymore) and ask us again. Or release it into the wild.

Torhal is a very busy man. He has around two dozen projects that he works on, and Archy, NPCScan, and _NPCScan_Overlay are about the most complex of the bunch.
There has been an unofficial patch posted for Archy, but it only works in English. I have helped where I could by providing the new textureIDs for the various races that have archaeology, and I updated the Wowpedia API article. But, as I said, both of these are temporary fixes until Torhal can make it work for all languages.

Because Leystone Deposit is an item, if your client has never cached the item, it will return nil. Your code is correct, but missing registering the event GET_ITEM_INFO_RECEIVED.
Register for that event, calling your GetItemInfo. Cache the result yourself for future reference.

Man, my Google-fu is weak. Almost all my project pages are written in Markdown, and I can't seem to find out how to put a widget onto any project page.
I have the following code from Patreon, but it doesn't show as a button widget. How do I accomplish this? For that matter, how do I do the same thing with PayPal?

Huh, weird. I've seen some discussion about the bubbles and instances on the Wowinterface forums. I guess I have been lucky with Prat and TidyPlates because I do not suffer the problems. Not sure what to tell you guys, and suddenly I am no help. :-(

The first line of your error tells you exactly how to fix the issue. Prat cannot find AceTab-3.0 which is part of Ace3. Same with all your other errors, LibAlts, LibSink.
That means that you have either deleted or disabled Ace3, LibAlts, and LibSink, so Prat can't find them and fires errors.
On your character select screen, click the AddOns button. In the new window make sure that Enable out of date addons in the top right is on, and then load the game.
If the errors persist, then find and install Ace3, LibAts, and LibSink via the Twitch/Curse client.

Interesting. I will not be downloading and installing their software, but neither did I see a way to browse any hosted addons. I wonder if forcing users to sign up for a "free" membership to even access the addons is a violation of Blizzard's addon policy? You can download from Wowinterface and Curse/Curseforge/Wowace without signing up or being forced to use an installer client.
