Features include: Enhanced quest display in the log Patch 6.0 broke QuestGuru, so this is a completely different monster Conforms to the WOD map quest log (Tooltips for quests and icons showing quest status) Added full time quest level in front of quest name and tooltips. For those who are missing the Quest Tracker of QuestGuru, try Kaliel's Tracker
I have been using it for a long while and is very good :)
TO-DO's: Will try and revamp the quest tracker as I love it also. But wanted to get the Log out ASAP. Try to bring back the other features of the old QuestGuru (announcements, etc.) Need to make a in-game config window, still a work in progress.
F A Q ============== Q. How do I post a Bug Report? A1 - Click on QuestGuru Go to the AddOn and on the right side there is a selection called "Bugs" click on that. You will need to be signed in to WoW Interface to create a bug report. A2 - Or file a ticket QuestGuru@CurseForge Note: Please include the version of QuestGuru you are using and copy/paste the error message you receive. Please describe what you were doing when the error happened. This will help tremendously.
Q. How do I turn on auto-tracking of quests? A - Look in the options for the game itself, not QuestGuru. Under Objectives there are options to set when to track quests. QuestGuru does not duplicate these settings in its own options as it could become problematic and it is not necessary to duplicate options already available.
Q. Where can I find a version compatible with WoW patch x? A. QuestGuru is supported for the current Expansion and Patch level running on the live servers. PTR versions may be supported as Alpha or Beta releases, but I offer no guarantee.
NEW SOUND OPTIONS: Default sound set is now the old QuestGuru set (as requested by many) /qgs set <soundsetname> Sets the sound set and plays its quest completion sound /qgs set Lists the known sound set names /qgs test <quest or objective or part> Plays the current 'quest', 'objective' or 'part' completion sound /qgs message <objectives or completion or none> Sets verbosity of messages in the chat log to 'objectives', 'completion' or 'none'
Not fully sure which chat mod does change the size of the edit box. I think it was Chatter, but if not try test out a couple of the chat mods to see which has setting to change it.
Thank you. The last file on curse.com was listed as 2.4.21, which is why I asked for help. I have seen that it now says 2.4.25 and the description is now synced also to the curseforge site.
I had made changes to the desctiptio of my addon months ago and just noticed a URL that I had in it was not changed to the new one I wanted. I also noticed that the version number it says is current is not (Newest File: QuestGuru2.4.21.zip). The current file is QuestGuru2.4.25.zip, which has already been approved. I just checked back on the page just now and saw the "Other Downloads" has QuestGuru2.4.21.zip Release 7.1.0 13,737 Oct 28, 2016 as the latest file, which is completely wrong. The changelog also reflects the very same thing. There have been four additional versions with changelog entries. I have also made a thread for the changelog itself before seeing the rest.
Just to add. I just hit the Download button and version 2.4.21 downloaded versus the current version 2.4.25. I also checked the Curse app (newly changed to the Twitch app, thanks for the notice of the change…) and it also lists version 2.4.21. No wonder why my users are having problems with the addon. For now I am pointing them to download directly from the project page but would GREATLY APPRECIATE this "glitch" being fixed
For the last several versions of QuestGuru that I have uploaded I have noticed that the Changelog has been blank and have to copy what I have at wowinterface. I thought it at first was just adding the Changelog for that version to the rest, but was wrong and had to copy / paste the whole log in.
Is there a new glitch in the system? The old system kept the changelog and you just added to it. I do not use a repository so nothing is done automatically, just old fashion manual labor.
Another great option is QuestClicks, which automatically shows an icon for usable quest item, dropped items that start a quest and items that you can click to use (like artifact knowledge scrolls and artifact power items (both of those have to be moved to on top of the Click button once to tell it to enable it. If there is no item in your bag, no icon shows. But once you have one of the items it shows the icon and if there is more than one of that item it shows a number on the icon. I have been using this addon since 2008.
Don't think there is a function to delete folders. Best is to inform your users via a one time pop up log on message that they need to delete those folders. DBM did the same thing when they changed things with the ZG folder.
Great to someone keeping this excellent addon alive!
Then how is it that Recount was just updated in files.wowace.com just 9 hours ago by the author, Cryect?
Unless someone hacked his account or Elsia got permission somehow to do so....
