D) I do check 'Load out of date addons', but still I find it a strange thing, things keeps out of date, while according to the site where you see the addons, the modification date was a few days ago, and still they are out of date.
"Out of Date" does not mean "Broken". It simply means that the toc file says it was designed and tested for an older version of WoW. The reason the website says the file was modified a few days ago, is becuase some embeded librarys were updated (not the mod itself) and that caused a new zip to be made. The reason you were told to read before posting (twice) is becuase this kind of question gets posted near daily by people...there are a multitude of posts similar to the one you made with answers to the same questions.
If you don't understand what some/any of that means, then just trust that it's nothing to worry about, and don't worry about it. Just enable "Load Out of Date Addons" and if it works, it works.
I've just *always* seen it done in the "strin\\g" format whenever referring to files. Claiming one is cleaner than the other is just preference I suppose, I think "strin\\g" looks cleaner, just because thats how everything else is :)
What you're describing is exactly what the player frame's threat bar shows. This, too, was originally how I had done the basic threat bar plugin, but it was changed when it was fleshed out and merged into PB proper by ck.
It makes sense how it is, and I've just gotten used to glancing at my player frame (keeps me on top of watching my OWN health more often too :P) and it would seem silly to have two bars showing the exact same information on two frames right next to each other.
Cartogropher_InstanceLoot pulls data from PeriodicTable, which should be rather up-to-date. (They mine wow-head for the drop data)
I haven't personally noticed any bare loot tables, which instances are you referring to? Have you tried lowering the hide low-drop rate percentage? Maybe some lower instances don't have the proper drop rate in there, but I *believe* the items are all there...
I'm sure this has been asked but I can't find it: is there a way to tell WAU not to update an addon? I have an addon that has the same name as an Ace addon but is not really the same (actually it's a fork) and it keeps getting overwritten.
Rename the folder/toc file is the best I can suggest ATM.
AddonFolder -> AddonFolder_FORK
AddonToc.toc -> AddonToc_FORK.toc
