    Also, bloat is EASILY overcome by simply using plugin style coding. They don't have to run the plugins that they don't want.

    lol. When's the last time you looked at Prat? Bloated cores are still bloat, reguardless of 'style'. Better to have seperate, clearly defined addons, with a distinct purpose and feature set.

    *facepalm*

    BASIC TROUBLESHOOTING STEPS FOR ALL INTERFACE PROBLEMS:
    1) Disable all UI Mods, and load the game. See if the problem persists. (If it does, rename your WTF folder to WTF_old and try again, you should have ZERO problems with the clean, base UI)
    2) Slowly (either one at a time or in small chunks) re-enable your mods, see if the problem resurfaces.
    3) Rinse and repeat until you find the root of the issue.
    4) Profit

    On a highly-improbable-but-possible-coming-from-you note, you didn't happen to recently reach the level cap (70) did you? If so, that would be why your XP bar has 'disappeared'. (I'd hope that's not the case, but just trying to cover all bases)

    Thank you, Valle - right after I posted I went digging in the code and found that. Next I just need to find the frame name for Violation. :) (That one I couldn't find.)

    Dash can take lua-namespace as well as frame names. Violation is 'Violation.windows[1].frame'. You'll have to dig through the source-code for some of those mods without global names for their frames.

    posted a message on One Click Heal
    Clique is hands down, the *best* Click-casting addon I have ever seen/used. It is rarely updated (because it is written so well and already rather bulletproof) so you won't have to worry about not being able to updated it via WAU.

    I'd highly recommend just sticking with Clique.

    Quote from Sekuyo »

    I suspect CJNyfalt means a database of all flight masters and inns: FuBar_ToFu and InFlight both only record the location of the flight master once you've talked to it.

    I've got the data for a nice cartographer module that will show notes for all of the flight-masters, but haven't yet had time to wrap an addon around it. Inns is a handy idea too.

    Wrong, InFlight_Load has default data in it, and it registers the icons.

    posted a message on How Ace2 libs works
    I was merely explaining how Ace2 (and most all embeddable libraries) work in general, I was not saying that Ace2 is good :P

    I'd honestly say a good 80% of the mods that use Ace2 could be made more efficient without it (my opinion, not backed in any-way-shape-or-form on fact), don't switch to an Ace2 based version of anything for the sake of using Ace. You one and only decision when choosing addon A over addon B should be if it does what you want/need.

    Compare features, not frameworks.

    posted a message on How Ace2 libs works
    It dosen't matter how many copies of the libraries on your hard-drive, only the a single copy of the newest version is loaded in-game.

    Basically, it works like this.

    AddonA has Ace2 embeded into it, since Ace2 isnt loaded yet it loads it up.
    AddonB has an older version if Ace2 embeded, it ignores it and usese the newer one AddonA loaded.
    AddonC has an even newer version of Ace2 embeded, so it tosses out the copy AddonA loaded, and loads the newer one.

    Pretty much each library goes "Am I newer than the one that is already loaded?" If they aren't, they bail out early, if they are then they toss out the current copy and load themselves

    posted a message on Search / Request for Minimap Button Bag type Addon
    TidyMinimap defaults to the top-right of your screen (UIParent) instead of actually attaching itself to the minimap (this is probley why it looked like it wasn't working properly)

    It's not that hard to modify it, just open up the Settings.lua in notepad (or whatever is your text editor of choice)

    Like if you wanted the bar below your minimap change:
    pos = 'TOPRIGHT#Minimap#BOTTOMRIGHT#0#0',
    nudgeminimap = false,

    posted a message on Dongle and Ace, a friendly coexistance.
    Quote from teedog »

    On the flip side, if a Dongle developer decides he wants to stick the -Dongle- tag on his mod, you have no problems with it, right? Just as long as nobody comes onto your Google SVN and sticks -Dongle- onto your mod.

    I think it really boils down to a matter of principal. Adding a -Anything- tag to your mod is just going to cause the (ignorant) end-users to care about something they shouldn't. NO ONE should tag their mods with the framework they choose to use. I'd personally like to see the current and future Ace2 mods start stripping the tags, I really wonder what the result would be...
