Quote from Appiesan »

Does anyone know how to get the action keys on the stance bar?
I was looking for an ace replacement for bongos and like bartender.
The only thing I miss are the keys I defined to switch my druid forms.
Bongos shows them so I figured Bartender must also be able to do it.

Anyone?

There is no reason to replace a very well coded addon that you allready like and use with a different addon that is missing features you are used to simple because it is ZOMGACED.

Both are well written, both have a few unique features (Bongos can page on friendly/hostile target, whereas BT3 cannot. BT3's default skin is prettier, whereas Bongos is not. Etc...)

Use what you prefer based on features, not on a framework.

posted a message on New CKKnight Mod "Joker" Any Info Yet?
Because branding mods like this causes fanboyism, something that has (whether you want to admit it or not) hurt the ace community. Look at all the HORRIBLE Ace2 rewrites of prefectly good and simple non-Ace mods. Stupid people think Ace2 is magic and any mod using it will be instantly more efficent, and now there is starting to be a backlash of different stupid people who all hate Ace2 because one bad mod has spoiled their illusion of 100% efficiency.

People should care about the author, not the framework...and if this is ever going to change the best time to do it would be during a framework shift.

Pro-tip: If you're running Skinner, you can make the popups (summon, resurrect, enter BG etc.) draggable with the following:

/dragit add frame StaticPopup1
/dragit add frame StaticPopup2
/dragit add frame StaticPopup3
/dragit add frame StaticPopup4

You can also make the Skinner-modifier game menu / interface / video/sound options frames draggable with:

/dragit add frame GameMenuFrame
/dragit add frame OptionsFrame
/dragit add frame SoundOptionsFrame
/dragit add frame UIOptionsFrame

Protip: These are standard blizzard frames, they work even if your not using bloat skin.

There are a number of mods that show enemy buffs/debuffs/cooldowns/etc..

Look around, I'm sure you can find them, if not someone nicer than me will probably fire off a few names sonner or later.

posted a message on How could I make this work
-- Hide the chatframe textures
local G = getfenv(0)

for i = 1,7 do
for k,v in pairs(CHAT_FRAME_TEXTURES) do
G["ChatFrame"..i..v]:Hide()
end
end

for k in pairs(CHAT_FRAME_TEXTURES) do
CHAT_FRAME_TEXTURES[k] = nil
end

tada, you have no need for any type of framework, what your doing is DEAD simple.

I believe the point was that small mods (such as a Top Score logger), won't break that often, if ever, and really don't need the "convenience" of WAU. (Hell, no mod should require the convenience of daily updates if they stick to well tested, solid release versions. I can't even remember the last time I updated TinyPad, for example)

posted a message on Squeenix - Some people enjoy putting square things in round holes
Just so you people switching know...the author of Squeenix left the wowace community quite some time ago, and the version on the SVN is long outdated (and the newer copy on Tekkub's own svn is rather featureless, I don't know if he plans to flesh it out and release it or not)

However, a minimap mod is really rather simple and a great starting place for people to start leaning LUA themselves :)

@Salu: the Violation frame is called: Violation.windows[1].frame

That's not a frame, per-say, its a lua-namespace-path that points to an unnamed frame. As far as I know, most mods will only accept a valid, named frame (not a namespace), so that won't work with eePanels

I'd say 90% of CT_Mod has been re-written since 2.0.0, and it's not bad at all. Don't avoid something just because it's not Ace (and don't use something just becuase it IS either)

Try CT_PartyBuffs. If it does what you want use it :P

Edit: Also, Ace is not an acronym, its a noun (no caps).

Everyone claims to not have time :P Excuses I say!

I'm 100% sure that once NECB breaks some 5-6 months from now, someone will update it to work again. No one is 'on your ass' or trying to crush your opinion, they're just pointing out that what you want can already be archived by a few different, already existing addons, as well as the fact that NECB isn't going to *stop* working for a while (and like I said, once it does break I'm sure someone with ample time will fix it, it happens with all of the poplar mods that get abandoned)

Also remember that this is (or atleast was, originally) a development forum. The first suggestion when someone requests something new is ALWAYS going to be to write it yourself. "Teach a man to fish" and all that.
