posted a message on The New Curse Client
I am sorry is this has already been brought up but it is a real pain the rear end.

I am using the client, yes latest version, and decided to add recount to the list of addons i want the client to update.

Well the latest version of recount is r81954 which can be found http://www.wowace.com/projects/recount/files/22-recount-r81954/.

The client on the other hand decided to download r47214 which is dated 2007-08-22, so please don't give me that "a couple of days out" story.

I have been a supporter of all the changes since i heard about it, and was rather excited, but now after this, i am starting ot have my doubts.

Oh and yes when i went to the link i posted (r81954) above i clicked on Install via the Curse Client and it still installed r47214.

Please tell me this is being fixed soon.

    Thanks

That is some of the features i would like to see in the client. and option to auomatically download dependancies (have it default off, thart way us that r a little more savvy can turn it on, and those who dont't care won't no any different) and the clean up saved variables.

I use a hell of alot of addons, and as such i like to clean to my WTF folder when i change a mod or remove it, so the WTF cleanup option would be great.

The current WAU auto-dpendancy download is a great option which should be carried over to the new client. PLEASE :)

    Hi,

I couldn't find the Xperl discussion page so i thought i would post a new one :)

My questions, how can i find out the frane names for Xperl frames. I have some artwork that i wish to parent to Xperl Target frame, but am unsure what the actual target name is. I had it working with pitbull but i cant work it out on Xperl.

I wont the artwork to show when i have a target and hide when i dont have a target using the Xperl frames.

    Thanks in advance

If i leave the client running will it automatically download updates for the addons i have installed using the install via client option or will it still be a open the client and select update all addons?

I noticed today that the update all addons option doesnt work. I set the client up, i am using the latest version (the client didnt auto-update so i assume i am running the latest version) yet i had to close the client down completely when tryin to update some of my addons. It was like it froze or something. I had to right click on each addon and select update. Is this a bug?

I personally would start fresh, installing the addons I wanted through the clients normal installation methods.

What do you mean by this exactly. Do you mean that you would delete the addons in your addons folder that are found on the curse website and re-download them using the client?

Also, i much prefer, at times, to just use the updater to install new addons. Will there be a feature or tab to see newly added addons/compilations. I know with WAU, after a list reload i could sort the list by last updated and i could relativelty find the new aditions by reading the list. I know i must come across as sounding lazy, but this would be a very nice feature.

Also how does the client handle packages. I noticed when i installed a package it didnt unpack it. Is this delibrate (once again i am used to WAU and i always made sure i check the Unpack addons check box as i thought the addons wouldnt work unless they were unpacked if that makes sense) I thnk that is to do with modules of some addons. Atlas and AtlasLoot for example.

posted a message on RBM Offical Thread
i download RBM and all the plugins for it last night and i got over 400errors and WoW was pretty much not playable.
The errors are mainly lib errors, but i know i have all the required libs as i use a lot of ACE addons with external libs.

once i disable RBM and all plugins WoW works fine.

    Is anyone else having problems.

Does JWU have an option to delete folders before updating. E.G there is an update for Ace2, will JWU delete the exsisting Ace2 Folder in my addons directory before installing the new version.

That is one feature i do like about WAU. Just hoping this one had the same

posted a message on Grid2 - What it is, and what it's not
One thing i really hope that Grid 2 has is a config based mode. Where u can put it in config mode, see all 40 squares so the user can position and resize the squares much more easily. At the moment i have to jump into AV battleground to get the 40 squares to appear so ican make any adjustments i need.

    Just a thought.

    posted a message on Omniscience: 2.4 Ace3/LibBars Antagonist/NECB clone
I update this using WAU and i keep getting an error about LibBars 1.0 missing. i usually download without externals but i also tried with externals and still same problem. No LibBars 1.0. I was able to get it working once when i downloaded it through WAU when it was first put on but becasue i set my WAU to delete before updating, it doesnt seem to work as the Lib is missing :(

Another thing, i used to use NECB before making the switch to this. Is there a way, once it is finished, to be able to set it so it only tracks targets in your party or raid (bnot sure if taht makes sense, i hope it ) coz i dont need to see bars for EVERYONE around me when i am questing by myself.

    Thanx

posted a message on NetherPanel - A Java WoW Manager with Style.
How do i set up netherpanel so it will download/update librabies please. I dont run my ACE addons with the libraries in the addon folder (without externals). Can NetherPanel do that. Example. Addon a needs a specific library, so instead of the addon having a lib folder, NetherPanel downloads the libray needed as a serapte addon folder in my Addons Driectory ( i hope i have made it easy to understand :()

I have been thinking of getting rid of the launcher panel and just bringing up the addon panel on launch, but I figured perhaps this is just something you have to get used to as a first-time user. The launcher panel does give access to the "Works" button which does it all. I'm not sure what to do.

How about putting an option in the configuration screen allowing the user to set how Netherpanel launches. User a might like the launcher and yet user b might just want to get right in a update there addons. So put an option in to say something like: Show Launch Panel at startup or Show Addons at startup (sorry i dot have alot of knowledge when it comes to programming or software development). But i just thought that could work as it give the user the option instead of you working out whether to keep or get rid of the launcher. This -should- keep all the for and against the launcher happy.
