some people don't quite understand that those that want separate UIs per character are in the minority

Including Blizzard. Why oh why do I have to turn on Equipment Manager and chat classcolors separately for each character?!

I could add a simple toggle that hides all raid warnings. Is that what you want?

No, I want it to block only the /rw spam from other boss mods, not all /rw. I couldn't convince the raid leader or the assist to turn off the announce setting in their mods, so I have no option but to block the spam on my end. I do not, however, want to block normal, manual use of /rw. Does that make sense?

I hope this is easy to implement using the same logic as the equivalent DBM/BigWigs features.

How can I block the raidwarning spam from the raid leader's boss mod? It's driving me nuts. Other than that, love DXE so far!

Could you (or anyone) write up a little propaganda for what's special about this mod? What makes it different from Deadly Boss Mods and BigWigs? Why is it worth my time to try it?

It's just bad luck that too many discs want the merge when really it's not a good solution.

I'm a Disc. Priest, and your arguments have actually changed my mind. I think I'd prefer to have absorbs displayed separately now. I still think an off-by-default option to merge would be useful, though.

I'm disappointed that you can't find any API change correlating to the quotation I posted. I hope someone figures it out or Blizzard adds whatever they forgot to change in a minor patch!

That would be a very bad idea since absorb =/= healing.

for instance, all the healing in the world won't make the tank survive a hit for more then their HP, while a shield can.

While that's true, I don't see it as a reason not to include absorbs in the "healing done" totals. Absorbs negate damage, same as effective healing does, and it'd be incredibly useful to me as a Disc. Priest to see an accurate in-game meter of how my heals + absorbs compare to other healers' heals.

If your concern is that absorbs should be valued even more than heals, well, you could presumably still see the breakdown by spell when looking at the details for someone's "healing done" bar, which would show exactly how much they absorbed.

In the Priest Q&A, Ghostcrawler wrote,
The change we made for 3.2 was to show how much damage was left on each absorption effect before and after the damage was done. This should allow third-party addons to figure out which absorb effect goes with which caster and properly credit them for it.

Will Recount process these events and display absorbs from Power Word: Shield and Divine Aegis on the "Healing" tab?

    Fair enough.

I can work through trying them all myself, but I was hoping someone might enjoy sharing a setup they're happy with to give me some ideas. Maybe I can find someone using LibDataBroker mods in one of the "post your UI" threads floating around various forums.

    Here's WoWI's Databroker Category

Thanks, I've been through that, but it seemed like there weren't many choices for some reason, or that a lot of them hadn't been updated. People seem kinda excited about LibDataBroker so I expected to find a great number of high quality data provider add-ons, because other wise why are people excited?

Does that make sense? Are there more hiding somewhere? :)

Would you mind posting the list of data broker mods you use?

Edit: I think part of my hang-up with lots of the mods on WoWI is that I usually don't want to try out mods that have no screenshots posted. I like to see what it looks like before I go through the trouble of downloading, extracting, logging in, etc.

I'm working on setting up an info bar, probably using the new NinjaPanel display mod just released, but I'm having a little trouble finding data providers to use. The new era of interoperable mods is both a blessing and a curse -- it's more flexible, but there's no longer a big list of "-Fu" mods in one place to choose from.

Could some of you be so kind as to post a list of the LibDataBroker mods you use, any FuBar mods you are running using FuBar2Broker, and maybe a screenshot of what it looks like? I'd like to see your ideas!

Could you post some screenshots, please? I'm curious about using this kind of mod, but I don't usually go to the effort of trying a mod if the author doesn't go to the effort to show me what it looks like beforehand. :)

I have to say I agree that the WowAce page design doesn't make the project name very prominent, nor does it make it 100% obvious that the project navigation links are attached to the project, not the site. I can see how Farmbuyer got confused and frustrated.

Maybe the part of the nav bar inside the black border that includes the project name and the list of project navigation links could be changed to be a different color from the site navigation links? That would help a little bit. Edit: here's what I mean:

a quick glance is easy enough to understand how it works, but adding new categories can be a little tricky, as wowhead's data strings are a pain.

Thanks. The data strings did look like a pain, that's why I was hoping someone would have already written what I needed :P

Thanks! I also have a question. Earlier in this thread, someone mentioned a "dataminer" they are using to collect information from Wowhead. Is this something that could be shared? I don't want to duplicate effort writing some scraping scripts if I can avoid it. I'd like to collect some data about quest rewards.
