Sofar most of my old fubar plugins are working nicely but a few just don't want to play along.

As stated above GarbageFu looses its options.

Instancetime also isn't showing its information. in the block, only tooltip, it reacts properly to clicks thou.

Whisperfu is popping a huge as error but seems to work anyway. (Found that it dosen't update displayed info on the block, only updates tooltip info)

Just a heads up, I filed a ticket about new food and drinks not yet recognized by Baggins here: http://www.wowace.com/projects/baggins/tickets/2-food-drinks-not-detected-as-food-yet/

I am not sure if it should be for Baggins or one of the Libs (like LibFilter).

posted a message on Prat 3.0 Chat Mod Framework
    Quote from Zorzor
Thank you for your help, I did not delete everything, my mistake. I went through step 10. Even after deleting my chat-cache.txt, chat-cache.old, Prat*.lau and prat folders in my interface folders still no luck. I know the chat is working but it is not recording it on my screen when I talk or when anyone around me is. The combat log is working fine. I did not install the new Prat as I figured if the basic Blizzard chat isn't working it won't matter but if I am wrong please let me know. This is so frustrating..

Ok, that's cool then, now we know it isn't Prat that is causing the problem, it could be another add-on.

    Your next steps will be:
    1) Delete the "chat-cache" files as stated in the earlier steps
    2) Disable all Add-Ons via WoW
    3) Login and test

If it works, then there is an add-on that is causing the chat frame from not working.

I suggest you go through each add-on "in-game" first (re-enable them), then check which add-on have anything to do with chat, channel, non-guild/non-party communication, etc.

If there seems to be none, then you will have to manually re-enable each add-on.

I know it is pain, I also had that problem before and some guildies as well. The problem was, me and my guildies found different culprits (in any case, I dont remember which add-on it was for me).

Now, if the very basic, default setup of WoW, the chat still doesn't work, then you will have to contact Blizzard from thereon and tell them you already disabled all add-ons and reset to the default setup of WoW. It might be an isolated bug (meaning only very few people have it) which could be related to the patch. (When I experienced that chat problem, it was after patching 2.4.3 :p but in my case, it was an add-on.)

    Hope that helps ^_^
Just be a little patient there, you will be able to find that add-on.

posted a message on Prat 3.0 Chat Mod Framework
    Quote from Zorzor
So, since having Prat 2.0 installed prior to the patch now I can't see any chat. I finally have all the errors not showing up in chat all the time with updates and updating Prat. I have given up and was hoping to be able to use chat again but even with disabling Prat, installing Prat 3.0, updating Ace, updating all my other addons, deleting Prat from my addon folders I still can't see any chat or guild chat or anything. I think it is going through to say, guild when I type based off what I have been told but I can not see anything anyone else chats or tries to respond. Not sure what else to try, I would be happy with the basic Blizzard chat working again at this point.

    Step #1: Go to: \.\World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\{ACCOUNT NAME}\{SERVER}\{CHARACTER NAME}\
Step #2: Delete everything that is named "chat-cache"
    Step #3: Go to: \.\World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\{ACCOUNT NAME}\SavedVariables\
Step #4: Delete everything that has the word "Prat"
    Step #5: Go to: \.\World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\{ACCOUNT NAME}\{SERVER}\{CHARACTER NAME}\SavedVariables\
Step #6: Delete everything that has the word "Prat"
    Step #7: Go to: \.\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns\
Step #8: Delete everything that has the word "Prat"
Step #9: Log-In and test your Chat
Step #10: Setup your chat then log-out
Step #11: Download the latest Prat3.0 here: http://www.wowace.com/projects/prat-3-0/
Step #12: Extract to your \Interface\AddOns\ folder
Step #13: Test it, Setup, Logout, and update us if it works.

Do the steps, I'm sure you did not do one of steps outlined above. Because it appears that you did not cleaned up everything that has to do with Prat2 and any of your addons.

Always remember, when there are major patches, always start from scratch - delete the Interface and WTF folders.

    ;)

    Hope that helps.

posted a message on Corrupted Downloads or Time-Outs in WoWAce/Curse
The following addons are not downloading, or is providing a corrupted download:

    • BigWigs Bossmods - r4767
    • Skillet - r134
    • oRA2 - 3.0-beta2
    • FuBar 3.0 - v3.5

Tried on WoWAce, and also Curse (if the said version is available). I can perfectly download other updates from WoWAce and/or Curse, as tested, before reporting this.

Both just timing out or giving a corrupted download. All are acting that way since their respective versions came out until now (as of this writing).

    Just bringing to your attention.

The first feature used to be sort of available via an addon called Yatlas (not to be confused with Atlas), but it's long since abandoned. I heard there was some bloated pack called Carbonite that has a Cart3-style map addon included, but I haven't bothered checking that out.

The second feature you can get with any map addon via HandyNotes + TomTom.

And the third feature asked, HandyNotes_Guild (which of course requires HandyNotes ^_^ ).

posted a message on I have a dream
I just want to reply to the torrent idea.

Yes, it will work, that is the idea behind BT. However, you also have to take into consideration that BT works well as long as people keeps their BT client (or BT-powered Updater in this case) open for the "decentralized" downloading to work. If only a few keeps it open, worst, no one keeps it open, then we're still back to getting the files from one source, which is no different than a centralized repository.

    ^_^

It is a good idea, no question about that, but BT works as long as there are sources keeping their BT client running.

And as a gamer, #1 rule - shutdown all bandwidth eater applications. In other words, no BT when playing.
