i'll try and use it without the CG mod, but thats kind of the reason why i'm using the mod at all ;P

I haven't had any disconnects since I disabled the new code. If it's running fine for you, go ahead and turn on the CG mod (if you haven't already) and let me know how it goes. I'm fairly certain at this point the disconnects were caused by the new code, and not by the CG mod. :-)

    Awesome. Thanks!

It would be nice to have a way of filtering by 'not appearing in view [viewname]' if that would be possible?

    This is in the works.

It would be nice to be able to specify faction within the Character Filter (so I can see all my Horde characters items on 1 server - but not Alliance characters items).

    You have Alliance characters. Yuk...

Seriously, though, I play on a PvP realm, so it never occurred to me that you could have both factions on the same realm. I can probably sneak this in, though. :-)

Also a few items don't seem to fall into the correct categories (Netherwing Crystals aren't considered quest items for example) - is this is Blizzard problem,ACE problems or something in the mod itself (not using the PT filter for this).

It's a Blizzard thing since I'm using their API to determine the item type. I'm guessing that some items span multiple categories, so they just pick one for the item to belong to. Once I get the tooltip filter working, you'll be able to search for the word "Quest" in the tooltip, which is what I used to do with SanityBags. I just haven't gotten around to it yet... ;-)

I'm planning on hiding the bank interface as soon as I build a way for people to buy bag slots, and things like that.

Second, is there a way to hide teh search bar?

Wasn't planning on it, but I'll see what can be done.

Third, i mostly play with the german client, so at first i couldn't filter consumables
in the "Item Typ". I looked up some code and localised your usUS to deDE. i hope its not
to bad but it worked fine after it.

Yeah, Blizzard localizes the return values for some reason. Looking back, I should have used the Babble libraries to translate (and I'll probably rewrite it to do that in the near future), but in the mean time I added the German translations to the addon. Thanks! :-)

It does seem FBOH has some issues with Guild Banks - namely that it gets horribly out-of-sync with what's in them quite easily.

I don't have access to remove items from my guild bank, so I didn't really test it all that well. I'll probably set up a guild bank on one of my alts and use that to figure out what's going on here. Probably I'm just monitoring some event that tells me the guild bank contents have changed...

However...now that I have FBOH installed I get random DCs once every 5 minutes or so.

That's totally weird... ;-) Could you try it for a while without the FBoH_ClosetGnome module installed, and see if that helps?

Also, are you doing anything in particular just before you get disconnected? Moving inventory items around, picking things up, selling things (anything that would modify what items you're carrying). If you're a hunter, shooting arrows would count. :-) I'm just looking for anything that might point me in the right direction, but thus far this is the first I've heard of this kind of problem.

Update: Well, wouldn't you know it, but not five minutes after I posted this, I got randomly disconnected. Karma? Possibly. Coincidence? Probably. Anyway, just to play it safe I disabled some code that I had been working on yesterday morning. Give it a whirl (both with and without FBoH_ClosetGnome) and see if you're still getting disconnects. :-)

Well, at least all but one of those is really the same error... ;-)

I did a quick fix to remove the error message. I'm out to head out the door, but I'll spend some time figure out what's really causing it since what the error message says is happening really shouldn't be happening. I assumed that all ClosetGnome sets would have an item in every defined slot. Fixed FBoH_ClosetGnome to account for the fact this is not always the case.

As for the other message about the config, I removed the option (which I had already removed the code for, hence the error), so that one should be fixed.

It's a problem more with moving windows than with opening them (at least, I assume that's the problem Iuxus is referring to). Happens when you try to drag a view that's not on top, even if it doesn't overlap another bag.

The way I did it with the filter buttons is I created one button which is what is actually moved around which always sits on top, and is only visible when you're dragging. My idea is to create something like that for the views as well, as long as it doesn't take to long to copy them and do any other manipulation to make it work.

It's definitely been a busy week (and I'm definitely getting too old to keep up with 3 raid nights a week...).

Anyway, I got custom sorting working, so feel free to start playing with that. You can set it up per view in the configuration, same way you set up filters. I did change some of the ways that the default sorting works, namely items that appear on alts will all be grouped together rather than broken down into subgroups (sounds more complicated than it really is ;-) ).

another question i have.. does it not work with itemrack 2.1?

Afraid not. One of the things I really liked about the original item rack was the built in event functionality, which was never built into ItemRack 2, so I never upgraded. If I get some time, however, I'll download it and see what I can do.

    Quote from fred »

Lag when opening is a Blizz thing...happens with other bags too :)

Exactly, though I'm toying with an idea to code around it. It'll either make it much better, or much worse. If I never mention this topic again, you can assume it was the latter... ;-)

FBoH_PeriodicTable seems to work only when the libs are in the FBoH_PeriodicTable Addon directory.

    Quote from Seerah »

I use it with standalone libs fine. And they are listed as OptDeps correctly in the TOC...

I swear I tested this, and Seerah seems to confirm that it works. The more I think about it, Shareel, the more I think that LibPeriodicTable-3.1 itself is loading, but for some reason none of the items in its database are being registered, or perhaps another addon is mucking it up. You might try disabling everything except FBoH, FBoH_PeriodicTable, and their dependencies, and see if that helps, but as far as I can tell right now, everything in FBoH related to LibPeriodicTable is working fine...

Um.... I've downloaded Closetgnome, and, um, that's about it... ;-) Seriously, though, I did take a quick glance, and I think it should be pretty easy to set something up. ClosetGnome also seems to lend itself better to this, so I think the filter will work at least as good, if not better, than the ItemRack filter. I'll try to get something out in the next few days, since this seems to be a hot topic. :-)

Is there an way to check LibPeriodicTable-3.1 is loaded? Maybe the lib is installed but not loaded.

That's what it's starting to sound like. I'm assuming that you installed without externals. If that's the case, check your Addons directory and make sure there's a directory called LibPeriodicTable-3.1. Inside that folder there should be several subfolders for consumables, gear, tradeskills, etc. Assuming all that is there, go ahead and log into WoW and at the character select screen, click the Addons button and make sure that LibPeriodicTable-3.1 is configured to load.

If that doesn't work, try installing the FBoH_PeriodicTable addon with externals, and see if that helps. Beyond that, I'm pretty much out of ideas, but let me know if it's still not working and I'll try to make something up... ;-)

Currently, the bag window opens when you visit a vendor, bank, etc. Could you also make it so that it closes when these frames close? Just like default UI/other bag mods.

Weird - the default UI doesn't seem to close any bags when I leave the bank, vendors, etc. Usually, I just hit escape when I'm done, which should close all the FBoH bags, so I never really paid attention to it, but I'll see what can be done.

    Quote from Seerah »

Another request. Currently, I have several views docked together so they're tabbed views. Pressing B will open FBOH to the first/main tab. Then, I wish to view a different tab (say, of my quest items). I press B again to close the window, but, instead, the view changes back to the Main tab. I have to press B again to close FBOH. So...
    • would it be possible to be able to toggle opening/closing with your keybind without it paging back to the main tab/view first?
    • also, would it be possible for FBOH to remember which tab/view you were looking at and have it open to that one upon the next time you open FBOH?

If you open all bags, the tabs will be set to however they were when you last had them opened. I usually use Shift-B to do this, so it's probably just another one of those "I've always done it this way, so never paid close attention" type of deals.

One new thing that I added over the weekend was the ability to configure which view is hooked to each of the original UI bags. 'B' will always be bound to the main bag view, but F8-F11 can be bound to any tab. This can be configured in the 'General' section of the FBoH options. Let me know if that's close enough for now... ;-)

Just added it with the latest checkin. Stop reading my mind... ;-)

Can you make it possible that it doesn't replace the normal (or other) bag inventory interface?

Yep. The code is actually (mostly) in place already. I just haven't added anything to the UI to let you actually change the setting. I'll try to get that in tomorrow.

    Quote from NImhloth »

I may have just missed how to do it, but I notice that FBoH shows what is in the guild bank. However I can't seem to figure out how to set the filter so it only shows guild bank items.

Oops - forgot to add the option when I added the guild bank data. You should now be able to select this using the "Bag Type" filter.

    Quote from Tiomat »

When I try to move the "Main bag" (the bag created at start with all items not associated with other bags) something happens tat locks up my whole ui for a few seconds...

This seems to be a blizzard thing, as I noticed it with some other addons as well. What seems to be happening is if the window you're dragging is already on top, everything works great. However, if the window is behind another window (even if they don't overlap), the game needs to do some calculation to move it up to the top before you can drag it, and for some reason it takes a lot longer to do while you're dragging the window. That's my theory, and unfortunately, I haven't found a way to work around it (yet ;-) ).

    Quote from Tiomat »

if I manage to drop the window unto another one to dock it it disappears completely (still talking about the main window), it's not visible on the screen, nor in the list I can access from clicking on the fubar icon.

I'll look into this and see if I can reproduce the problem. I'm actually somewhat surprised the docking code works as well as it does, so I'm sure I just forgot to dot an i or cross a t someplace... ;-)

    Quote from Tiomat »

Can I use the "not used in another bag" filter for another bag?

This should be possible (it's essentially what the main bag does behind the scenes, except it applies to all other bags). I'll see if I can add something like this to the standard filter set.

    Quote from Tiomat »

Possible to (with an option maybe?) hide Blizzards bank window, and show the bags instead?

Yep, this is in the plan. I essentially need to create a "mini" bank UI so that you'll still be able to purchase bag slots, etc. first, so I until I get that built I didn't want to suppress the default bank UI. Same thing with the guild bank, but I feel a bit less strongly about redesigning that for some reason (mostly because I probably don't spend a lot of time in my guild's bank).

    Quote from Tiomat »

A posibilty to create clone a window?

Oddly enough, I can't seem to reproduce this. It's like you have LibPeriodicTable installed, but none of the standard categories that come with it are registered.

another baggins' feature is "new items"

Added a "Last Moved" filter, that currently only has one setting for the "current session." Planning to add additional options for "today", "yesterday", "last week", etc. once I get a few spare minutes. It won't work for items already in your inventory unless you move them at least once first, or purge the item database (which you can do from the testing section of the config window). Purging will wipe out all item data for all characters, so just be sure that's what you really want to do... ;-) I'll probably do a quick fix for that in the next day or so.

Update: Had a few spare moments, so I fixed it so any items already in your database will have a "last updated" time assigned to it next time you log in. Also, I added the additional options for today, yesterday, etc. described above.

    Quote from tazmanyak »

    Does it support guildbanks?

You can now view items in guild banks. For now you'll still need to use the default guild bank interface to manipulate items, but at least you can see what's in there when you're not at the bank (and have them categorized, of course).

    Quote from Daagar »

Would it be possible to get ButtonFacade support? ... Failing that, maybe just some way to use the Tooltip border texture

I'll take a look. Had some problems getting the item buttons to work in the first place, so I'm a little wary of messing with it too much, but once I get most of the other features completed, I'm sure I'll have learned enough that it won't seem so daunting... ;-) As for the Tooltip border texture, I'll check it out and see if I can make it an option.

    Quote from Apoco »

Just out of curiousity, why are you requiring Ace2 and Ace3 as dependents?

Yep, it's just for Dewdrop support. I actually use it all over the place (for filter options, tab menus, main menu, etc.), and couldn't figure out if there was an easy way to get it to work with AceGUI since the documentation for AceGUI-3.0 is pretty minimal. AceDropdown-3.0 sounds interesting - is there someplace I can get more information on it (I couldn't seem to find any reference to is using the search engine)?

My rational for not worrying too much about requiring both Ace2 and Ace3 is that Ace3 is new enough and Ace2 is so established that a lot of users will already have the Ace2 libraries installed anyway one way or another, so the impact should be relatively minimal. I'll admit it doesn't give me the warm fuzzy, and if there's a good (and preferably documented) Ace3 alternative to Dewdrop I'd switch to it in a heartbeat, but at the moment I can't seem to find one.

I added FBoH_ItemRack to the SVN, so it should be available soon (if not already). It only works with the original ItemRack (not ItemRack 2.0), and it does have some kinks in it, since I intended it primarily for my own use. I did, however, comment it pretty heavily to show how new properties can be created and registered with FBoH.

Yep, I noticed that last night too. I've been working on the guild bank stuff, and the sheer amount of junk in my guild's bank indicated that I really needed to adjust how I'm using CPU and memory. Unfortunately, it appears that I hit the code with the optimization bat a bit too hard. I'll hopefully have this fixed today or tomorrow. On the plus side, though, it runs a bit faster, and memory use is a lot more consistent. :-)

Another vote for Closetgnome. That'd definately make me try your addon :)

You might also suggest that to the author of ClosetGnome that it might be a good idea for him to code up a property and register it with FBoH. ;-) Seriously, though, one of the problems I'm having with the ItemRack property is that it doesn't see changes to item set definitions right away, which could probably be solved if the property was more integrated with the addon rather than me hacking something together, and part of the idea of making this extensible is so other addon developers can add their own properties to the mix. :-) That said, I'll certainly try to look into it once I get more of the core features up and running (y'all might even convince me to switch to ClosetGnome in the end, which I've been considering anyway).

Possible? You betcha. However, I'm not a ClosetGnome user, so it would definitely take me a while, though I do have an ItemRack filter up and running, if that would interest you... ;-) . Actually, I'll probably upload the ItemRack filter to SVN pretty soon, which someone could probably easily modify for ClosetGnome if I don't get around to it soon enough.

Some locations haven't been coded in to show yet. Specifically, key ring, what you're wearing, and your mailbox (and now guild bank, since I've been working on that big). Keyring is one of the features that will be coming soon, but in the mean time you should still have access to the Blizzard keyring.
