Just updated to the latest FuBar, and the ones that used to move around were just missing instead... I re-added them in the Rock GUI, logged out, back in, and they stayed where they belonged!!!
Thanks for getting this working again!!!

That being said, if those 3 non-ace addons are working for you, why do you need to replace them?
LootLink stopped being supported, another guy picked it up and it's limping along waiting for someone to own it for real... which to me means come 2.2 or 2.3 it'll likely vanish entirely. I'd like to find a valid replacement so I can populate it... my LootLink database has many thousands of objects in it... and if I'm looking for plugins, this is always the first place I come, I've been very happy with the plugins and their developers at wowace, as I went more ace-based I haven't lost any functionality (and gained quite a lot). My most recent, for example, was dropping KLHThreatMeter in favor of Omen, I switched and then talked my group into switching and I think we'll end up being very happy with that choice...
SmartBuff I love, it would be the very last thing I'd swap out... but there's something nice about checking one site for regular updates, about the updates being built against each other in a formal way, and about quick updates when the world changes (new patches, etc)... I've been very happy with wowace.com for all those reasons.
Sep 20, 2007Just curious... I switched to Ace months and months ago, and I currently have 126 folders in my AddOns folder... of those, 13 are Blizzard ones, 3 are non-Ace, and 110 are off this site. :)Posted in: General Chat
I'd actually love Ace-alternatives to those last three holdouts, if someone has suggestions... I haven't been able to give up SmartBuff and SmartDebuff (just such a nice configurable collection of buffing tools, I need configurations for party vs. raid and individuals by name rather than just by class), and Lootlink is still my favorite for dressing up with things I'll never own... :)
Sep 20, 2007Starting with the Fubar update yesterday mid-day... Fubar is losing my settings. :(Posted in: FuBar AddOns
I dropped it in, logged in, and nearly all my plugins were on the top bar, piled on top of each other... I have three top bars, no bottom, and when it's correct the three bars are about equally populated, but as of mid-day there are 2-3 plugins on each of the second and third top bars, and the rest (20+) all piled on the topmost bar... on top of each other due to lack of space. :(
I moved them all back to where I like them, quit out, checked the .lua... and it says they go where I want them to go... log back in, same problem: most everything's piled in the topmost bar. If I log out without fixing it, the .lua reflects the new (very wrong) configuration...
I tried deleting the .lua and starting fresh, configured the bars the way I like 'em, quit out, checked the .lua, it was good... logged in, 20+ piled in the topmost bar. :(
Can't figure a workaround at this point, other than to move 'em all by hand when I log in and then never log out again, which isn't ideal. :)
Any help would be much appreciated...
PS: Currently running Fubar 49339.5
