So whats the status of this puppy? I've been excited to see any kind of concept or alpha stage of this, but no one has stepped up to the plate with a swing at it.

I SO wish my talents enabled me to make this type of thing. I have a long way to go however before I can do it. :(

Aye, I've tested them all myself. Every single one you've mentioned, and I could *swear* I've tested even more than those. Alas, my testing file was far too large, so I dumped all addons that I didn't plan on working on or studying anytime soon to save space - figuring that the old resources would still retain the addons for some time.

Perhaps this will get looked at soon. Just need more people excited about this besides us geeks and we will get some return on our verbal investments here. :)

    Wow... thats very clean looking.

I can see why people like the DUF-type mods.

Back to topic - No, mine doesn't offer something like what you seek. This modified version of Mapscroll is on my list to be "doppelganer-ized", but I have put it on the back burner until other projects that suck memory like a juicer freak are fixed. At that time I will play around with this feature and update if this is something feasable via my modifications.

I'm at 15MB useage right now with all my addons enabled, and my goal is to drop below 10MB at full run. I SHALL PREVAIL!

I would love to be able to do something like this. Far over-my-head for my current abilities unfortunately.

Maybe well get lucky and someone will be inspired to do such.

I like QuestIon over MonkeyQuest the most for it functionality and close-ness to QuestMinion (godz I miss that mod).

I believe that MapScroll will offer a stripped down version of what you seek Shifta. Check it out on the AceAddonCollection forums here.

I have my own version of similar features offers in MapScroll and some additonal things I wanted to throw in, so mine is different for the most part.

As goes for removing the background texture and only displaying the dots, I can see benefit and loss for this. I, personally, wouldn't find use for it however.

posted a message on mod for demon training
I would suggest checking out the code from HUNTER HELPER. This addon requires the hunter to open their training window once to "learn" all the spells that the hunter currently knows. Based on this, when in the wild a known tamable beast will show a green note in the tooltip if a new (higher level) skill is available to learn via taming.

Now, most of that has nothing to do with Warlock pets. However, an alternative coding style could compute what skills a Warlock currently knows after summoning each type. From that "learned" listing, upon visiting a warlock pet trainer, something could be built either in a new window that displays what skills are known and unknown, or a pop-up in the tooltip for what books that particular vendor sells, or some hyjacking of the window itself to "shade" the books in the trainers inventory a certain color.

The last one would be the trickiest, as it's possible that not all pet trainers would have the same ordered listing, or offer the same books (some in newbie area's may have level restrictions). But I dare to dream, so you all must suffer my brains farts such as this.

..anyone have a clothes pin? Whew!

posted a message on Request - Don't even know what to call it for sure
I know I saw something to this effect back on my lonely days of sifting through curse gaming addon after addon, testing a whole slew of things for my guild. I know I saw something that either notified you when this 5 second state was up via colors on the player frame or an actual countdown.
Hell, a countdown might very well be a useful addition to something like this.

If I come across that one, I'll post a link to it for reference if someone picks this project up. No promises though, as I have deleted 100's (more like 300-400, who could possibly keep track) of addons over time while testing.

posted a message on Who here plays on a RP server?
I was debating playing on a RP server, but like Rowne and Instant pointed out already, it was the childish, adolesent, and young immature adult comments that drove me away from such an idea.

I felt that the good groups of truly genius characters were too far and few between the scolding of n3wB Sp34k, that the effort outweighed the enjoyment.

I agree with Rowne on the PVP servers (all of them infact). I am a defender, not an antagonist (no, seriously.... stop laughing!) - If someone lays seige to my kingdom, I will defend it at any cost, be it even my life. I enjoy the traveling explorer approach, having the freedom to explore the vast wastelands and lush forests of Azeroth, without confortation.

Hoever, I cannot help the passing by insult toward the opposing faction, irredgarless if they can understand me or not.

Coming from EQ, I've never questioned the presence of the /train command, nor the querky emote that was associated with it. I would just lvoe to see a more a fluent use of such an emote.

Transportation in general is subject to scruteny IMHO. If I could only get my Hyppogryph or Wyrvern to fly a straight path between point A and B, that would be an accomplishment in and of itself! Perhaps the first time flying to a location, a scenic detour up the river of Stanglethorn would be nice, just to see the sites, but after that - let's get to business. While my retarded Wyvern is going through every possible zone between Kargath and Arathi Highlands, the town of Tarren Mill is being pummelled to ashes! I could arrive 5 minutes earlier had it not been for the accursed beast stopping to say hello to his distant cousins in Wetlands...

Enter the portal system. While the gnomes and goblins clearly have a "lock" on all things gadget-ty, they could easily monitor the placement of such devices beyond BootyBay and Gadgetzan. Even the Horde would conform to a pact of not eating the Oompa-Loompa's in trade for such quick traveling bliss. And the occasional loss of body parts during re-animation is acceptable and expected, so that would not boon the process.

posted a message on Question regarding conflicting addons
To my knowledge, no one has Ace'd AdvancedBagsPlus.

To that extent, if you are having errors for that addon, seeking out the author of ABP will be best for resolution for your issues.

To answer your generalized question of addon conflicting, YES! A resounding yes! Addons that call upon the same action and modify the results of such an action have a high probability for conflict. I will not try to cite specifics to your example as my understanding of errors is limited, but I would investigate the use of two addon that modify, change, or call upon the container buttons. Perhaps that will offer some minor insight for you.

    Good luck!

Mostly, you'll come to understand us as a bunch of geeky smartasses with high standards and articulate wording.

And I am proud to be a smartass, for it is better than being a dumbass. :)
