Yes, yes. But as the features others requested are not in yet (KB, gathering, etc.), it doesn't mean that (if they are going in) they will necessarily be modular as well .
Yes it does. Everything will be modular, otherwise it won't go into Cartographer.
Cartographer uses the standard WorldMap. AlphaMap making its own frames and everything makes it much less efficient.
I am planning on adding the cool stuff that people mentioned in this thread, e.g. hiding everything but the map overlay (so just the actual map shows up and such). I'm still grappling with the best way to support instances.
I will not support the original MapNotes icons. I hate those things. What's the difference between a small red circle, a small yellow circle, and a small blue circle? I mean, come on. Instead, I'll support the raid icons and possibly others if they come up. I want the icons to look different and have possible meaning to them.
I plan to make it possible to import notes from MetaMap/NotesUNeed/etc.
Ammo, author of PinPoint, is planning on turning it into a Cartographer module.
Remember, Cartographer is fresh and immature. Its API might change, and I want to come up with a very nice API that's clean and easy to use, and Cartographer-Notes' API is still not set in stone yet.
Cartographer is my replacement for AlphaMap/MetaMap/etc.
It is modular and very efficient.
It currently has 9 modules, all independent and modularized from one another:
Battlegrounds - allows you to view battlegrounds outside of the zone.
Coordinates - adds coordinates to the bottom of the world map of the player and the cursor.
Foglight - Shows unexplored areas on the map. replacement for MozzFullWorldMap or Unexplorer. Much more efficient, though.
Group Colors - turns all your party's and your raid's POIs into circles colored based on class, and shows a number on them based on their raid group.
Instance Maps - shows maps of instances.
Look 'n' Feel - allows you to change the transparency, position, and scale of the world map.
Notes - lets you put notes on the map, similar to MapNotes.
Professions - automatically tracks herbs and minerals.
Zone Info - on hovering over a zone, it will show the levels of the zone, the instances in the zone, their levels, and the number of men the instance is made for (e.g. 5-man, 40-man).
Please use this and test this. It works in vanilla and TBC.
I used to be a huge Discord fan, I made all sorts of crazy UIs. My main issue was that they were so memory and CPU-intensive, so I decided to learn lua and try it out myself.
No. Instead of asking for an editbox, you should be asking the authors to include a sane step in it, such as a step of 5, so that you may choose 95, 100, or 105, and it'll be a lot cleaner for everybody.
An editbox is _not_ needed and it would be more confusing. Just use a step and I'm sure that your issues will be allayed.
I've been doing a lot of optimizations to AceEvent-2.0 regarding scheduling recently, and it's actually faster than Metrognome-2.0 now. The downside is that it can't be profiled as easily because of said optimizations.
