Omen2 doesn't seem to calculate the 30% threat reduction from retribution paladin talent 'Fanaticism' correctly. Any chance of a fix for this?

    I'll check on this ASAP.

Hi Antiarc , any chance for a "eCasting Bar" module ?

Tried it yesterday, didn't seem to work

Can you link me to the mod? I'm not familiar with it.

At a user's request, I've added an XPerl module.

Deadened shouldn't need localization to function anymore. I need to set up localization for the config options though.

posted a message on I guess MobSpells needs a thread.
MobSpells is an addon I wrote on the 2.4 PTR when learning how to use the new combat log. It's pretty cool. Julith made it even more cool.

In short, it captures the spells that mobs perform, with damage and school data, and then puts that into a browsable format, with the ability to also put spells in the tooltip and report a mob's abilities to your party.

    Check it out sometime.

Hope this hasn't been asked yet, and that it should be in the Omen part of the forum:
Currently if a player dies with insignificance (in the Bloodboil encounter in BT) their Omen will not show threat generation from them until the next Fel Rage phase has finished, and they have survived and the Insignificance debuff has faded.

I applied a hopeful fix for this today; if it keeps happening, I'll explore other options as well.

Just curious when pet threat will be fixed. I'm still showing that I've got alot more threat than my pet but not pulling agro.

Pet threat is on the issue list, but is far lower priority than raid threat at the moment. I'm going to get to it, but I can only do so much at a time. :)

At some point will Omen2 work and play well others(KLH)? I have no idea what side of the fence the issue is on, perhaps both, perhaps neither. I have guild members that would rather use KLH, and some that like Omen2(Omen2 is where I stand!) and having the 2 work together would be nice again.

Both Omen and KTM underwent heavy changes in 2.4, and I suspect that Kenco and I will both be solving core issues before addressing crosstalk. I would like to do it eventually, but it's rather low on the priority list until I have Omen's bigger issues worked out.

There is one considering you need to make when setting up your DB. Mod packagers like to pre-package SavedVariables with their UIs to give their UI an out-of-the-box working setup. Since AceDB-3.0 uses "Character - Server" as the default profile string, this makes things really hard on mod package author, since that profile string is different for every user, and they can't make it work out of the box.

The solution to this is to pass a default profile string as the third parameter to :New().

The solution I took in Omen was:

    1) Add a new SavedVar named Omen2DefaultProfile
    2) Register the DB like so:

    self.db = LibStub("AceDB-3.0"):New("Omen2DB", nil, Omen2DefaultProfile)

What this does is allow "Char - Server" for normal users, while allowing UI packagers to set Omen2DefaultProfile in their SavedVars, which causes Omen to boot up on first run with their chosen profile name.

If you don't want to take this approach, then you should probably use something like "Default", or be aware that your Ace3 mod won't play nicely with pre-packaged UI setups.

Used version 68179.2 tonight. After killing Kael'Thas Sunstrider for that title (Hand of A'Dal) yay, we went and Killed Loot Reever. Knockback or knockaway or whatever it's called was not dropping tanks threat. So Loot reever is a bit broken atm. Just an FYI.

Can you get me a snippet of the log that includes the Knock Away? I need the spell ID.

    On the lockup-thing:
22 of us had the most recent version of Omen2 with embedded libs, 22 of us had simultaneous lockups. Not lags, lockups. Like we could still talk on TS, but only some of us could even kill WoW without a hard reset.
This happened 5 times in a row in P1, until someone of those without lockups suggested disabling Omen - and the lockups stopped. That sure does seem like it was caused by Omen/Threat, right? =)

    That's really worrying, yeah. :/

I'll keep digging through the code for stuff that might cause that. Can you get me the revision number you were all using?

It hasn't been every new version. To the best of my knowledge (and I update daily) there have been two versions that broke compatibility since 2.4 went live, and both of those versions were incompatible because of bug fixes. In other words, they couldn't fix the bug and remain compatible.

This is correct. It's not really fair to say every commit breaks backwards compatibility - there were a few that did it, but they were done in a short timeframe and early on in the project's lifecycle to get them out of the way as soon as possible.

The alternative was to leave crippling bugs in that would have been bad for everyone.

I am getting threat values far higher than another rogue in my group while doing similar damage. Comparing the values to the damage i have dealt and with the threat behavior pre 2.4 i think there is something pushing my shown threat higher than it should be. Sometimes i don't even pull aggro with 150% tank threat.

I have already tried resetting my settings by deleting everthing related to Omen in my WTF directory. I am always doing clean instals through the updater.

This was a bug that could have shown up specifically for rogues after multiple enable/disables of the player module. It should be fixed now.

I can't use any of the dropdown menus in the config dialog, because is is cut off on the right (Perhaps only in the german version?). Can you please tell me, whats broken?

The Blizzard menu isn't big enough. You can:

    a) use /omen config to configure Omen, or

    b) Install BetterBlizzOptions, an addon I threw together yesterday to let the Blizzard options dialog be movable and resizable.

Why does compatibility keep getting broken though. It's very frustrating.
Previously an Omen from 3 months ago would work just fine with earlier versions.

Now, omen from 1 day ago won't even work with recent versions. What gives?

Omen from 3 months ago was a mature product with months and months of development time behind it. Omen 1 day ago is a highly volatile project that is undergoing heavy development to work out bugs that have shown up in practical raid usage.
