I just have a look to the enUS localization file, there is nothing that attempt to be translated for these channels, how can we provide you translation ? what can be translated or not ?
Make sure you look at an updated version of the file. I added localization support for all strings in the addon today. :)

The channelname like "G" for guild don`t work for me with an FRENCH client.
guild = guilde (frFR)
Plz fix it
It's awaiting localization in the Localization/frFR.lua file. Generally, localizers will update these files en masse.

Would it be possible to move the ChannelNames saved data for custom channels to a perChar database? I like to use the Default profile for all of my characters since they all use the same UI, but they are in different custom channels (usually class related guild channels). So currently if I replace "5.GuildDruids" with Durid, my hunter's class channel, "5.GuildHunters", also becomes Durid.
I'm not going to do these per char, but these channel renames are now saved by custom channel name rather than custom channel number. This means your old settings for custom channels will have gone away, but it addresses this problem cleanly.

The current version of omen seems to be rather memory intensive, and is leaking still.
May want to look into that.
There's going to be a good amount of string garbage generated in the comms and bar updates, unfortunately. I'm quite confident that it isn't leaking tables, though.
Apr 13, 2008Omen doesn't use an embeds.xml file currently, so chances are it's an embedded library's embeds.xml that's triggering it. However, those files are just plain text and incapable of carrying a backdoor.Posted in: Raid AddOns
If you can, get the full path of the file to me. I'm curious which library's embeds.xml is causing that.
Apr 13, 2008Checking into SVN is not releasing.Posted in: Raid AddOns
If you really do work in software development, then you know
a) It's a good thing to commit atomic code changes, and
b) Committing something to SVN does not mean it's ready for prime time.
Additionally, your thread was probably locked because there are several more mature, active Omen threads on this very forum, and no the front page no less, not because someone had a philosophical disagreement with you.
Apr 13, 2008Arbitrary TOC bumping IS BAD. BAD BAD BAD. VERY VERY BAD.Posted in: General Chat
An updated TOC means "I, the author of this addon or an authorized project developer, have updated this addon to be fully compliant with this latest patch, and am therefore indicating that it is compatible."
Just because the addon works with the patch does not mean that its TOC should be updated. If the author chooses to do so without any code changes, he may do so, but changing TOCs so that they don't show as "Out Of Date" is the absolute worst possible reason to do so.
Instead, you should be contacting the authors of these addons, asking if there is an up-to-date version, and ask them to update the TOC if the current codebase is indeed considered by the author to be compatible with the latest patch.
Apr 13, 2008I've added (optional) tab completion to Chatter. Check the Player Names module to turn it off (on by default).Posted in: General AddOns
Tab completion will attempt to autocomplete the names of people in the channel you are typing in. For example, if you have "Joe" in your guild and "Jane" in custom channel "tabtest", and you type "j<tab>" in the tabtest channel, it will autocomplete to "Jane", because Joe is not in the tabtest channel.

How much logging does it do? >.> Infinite I hope? Currently I use elephant, and while I don't want to see the entire history in game, being able to hit the saved file (Like in cellular?) is awesome for going back and finding something you remember. Is this possible? As well as picking and choosing which channels/whispers to log? I'd check the mod itself, but I'm not home till tomorrow. :(
Sounds like a great mod though!
It saves it to the WoWChatLog.txt via WoW's standard chat logging facility. It's unlimited in size and can't be set to selective channels, as far as I know.
