    - Edit box needs to be resizable. Cos if you (like me) like to do a narrow tooltip border, it ends up with a huge black border past the edit box itself.

    Use the "Background inset" slider.
    - Mousewheel scroll delta setting. Scrolling by 1 line is so slow.

    Added.
    - Class coloured names to apply to main names too.

    Added.

    - Player level display does not work from guild list like colour names does.

    Fixed.

Automatic fixes to the placement of item (etc.) links in a justified chat frame (f.e. when justifying a chat frame to "right" the item links don't obey this but are placed on the left side for mouse over and clicking).

I dreeeead having to do this.

Option to remove channel names completey.

Added, use a single space to set a blank channel name. It'll map to completely blank.

The one thing I'm missing from Prat is the option to turn off the arrow-key hooking. I prefer to use alt-arrow to move in the edit box, instead of having arrow keys move in the arrow box and not provide their default actions.

    Added.

Can the mainname behind the altname get an option to always be colored grey, instead of using classcolor if it's appliciable? I kinda like it in always-not-easy-to-notice. :X

    Added.

Also, I'd make things a lot quicker if the addon would look to guild lists (and friend lists if possible) to get level instead of having to do a who on them first

    Fixed.

Is it possible to add options to "Player Names" which allows you to specify which "name-types" you'd like to save?

As in, you'd present such options: Guild, Party, Raid, Friends, etc as in a checkbox format and by checking it would mean data would be saved instead of cleaned up in between sessions.

    Added.

Is it possible to add an option where you can copy your Borders/Background across all frames? Or something such as a global option that overrides everything else?

Not currently. I'm feeling lazy. :P

Anything you can do about the default-ugly-as-hell buttons you use to switch channels? I know it's a tad too much to ask but damn ;x

I'm going to see about styling options for these.

Just wanted to say love some of the changes lately just hope chatter dosent become a resource hog like Prat, One of the reasons i switched

The static memory usage will increase a bit as I add features, but I'll be very careful about not adding anything that causes GC churn or excessive CPU consumption.

Would it be possible to add the highglight sound option also for non-custom channels like guild / raid and so forth. ATM only the highlighting of single words in these channels is supported...

    I'll be adding this.

Can you include the functions that ChatSounds (here on wowace) provides (assigning sounds to in and outgoing messages (whisper, party, guild, etc.) or is it beyond the scope of Chatter?

You can use the Highlights module to set sounds to be played when a message is said in a particular channel. It doesn't distinguish between inbound/outbound though.

    Newest features:

    - Ability for the edit box to change its border color to match the color of the channel you're typing in.
    - Module to remember channel colors by name rather than by number. Also lets you edit chat channel colors from Chatter.
    - Adds an option to PlayerNames to color player names by feeding their name through an HSV color creation formula. Provides "Taste The Naimbow" style functionality.
    - Put the reminder button in the upper right. Never off the screen that way!
    - Provide outline options for chat window fonts
    - Add option to exclude player level from level 70s
    - Add the ability to put player levels next to their names

I'd miss that too. But it's quite possible that this belongs in a separate addon. It does a LOT more than just fiddle with chat.

I've added an AltNames module. It was pretty trivial.

Nallebjoern: I get coloring in whispers - not sure what's up with that. I'll see if I can fix it though! I'll add a checkbox to make timestamps take on their channel's color, too. I'm not changing the name again though.

    * Class colouring is not working (english client), but i see this has been noted. However, i also noticed (while going from Chatterbox->Chatter) that it saves the class of various characters by name in the saved variables. I urge you to take a look at the code of Teknicolor. It performs the desired functionality very well with 3KiB of code and no saved variables. I'd hate to have every players name and class stored in my saved variables just to be able to show their class instantly.

    I'll check Teknicolor.

    * When i right-click one of the tabs i get the classic Blizzard drop down menu, and the last item is the Settings for filters (which is of course also Blizzard stuff). Is it possible to add a shortcut to the Chatter Settings to this menu as well. That would make it really easy to configure everything that is chatbox related without remembering any slash-commands. I think that context based navigation is always the best, especially when you have a lot of addons all with their own idea of how to configure them (and thumbs up for going the standardized way with Chatter!).

I like the idea. I'll check it out.

Since the rename the mod doesn't load it's settings anymore on relogging or reloading.

Also, the playernamecolor has never worked for me, neither the altlinking. No errors, just doesn't do anything at all.

Hopefully all of these should be fixed now. You may need to wait for the next WAU pass.

    ***BIG IMPORTANT NOTICE***

I have renamed Chatterbox to Chatter due to a naming conflict with another mod. Please update accordingly.

Due to the name change, your saved vars won't carry over. If you want them to:

    1) Quit WoW
    2) Rename your Chatterbox.lua saved vars file to Chatter.lua
    3) In the Chatter.lua file, change ChatterboxDB to ChatterDB
    4) Uninstall Chatterbox and install Chatter
    5) Start WoW and be happy

That's not with Prat unpacked though for optimal performance.

Uh. The only Ace2 mod I ran was Prat, and the only Ace3 mod I ran was Chatterbox. Modules disembedded vs not doesn't matter in this case. I ran them both fully embedded specifically so that performance problems could not be masked in disembedded libraries or modules.

I wrote Chatterbox after discovering that a) Prat was accounting for over half of Ace2's reported CPU time, and b) it had code that made it appear less bitey when profiling was turned on.

I already have a mod called Chatterbox (http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/fileinfo.php?id=8027#info).
How would I go about using both?

Ack! I didn't realize there was another! I did a Google search beforehand and didn't pull up anything. I must have missed it.

I, uh, guess I'll have to rename it.

I noticed in the EJ thread that you didn't cross out "Elemental Shaman with Lightning Overload procs". Do you still need a log of those?

Nah, I got them sorted. Just forgot to update the thread. :)
