posted a message on 3.2 Shadow Quality option - Improved or not?
Don't care, it went in. People were trying to figure out why they got FPS improvements on the PTR, and it was only happening in quad cores, then that was posted. After 3.1 the game also used more threads than pre 3.1.

    See..

Or just look at the WoW threads, what core they are on, and how much work they are doing.

WoW currently is running 27 threads, one doing about half of the work, and the rest split between ~6 of the threads. Support for a 3rd core was added in 3.1.

PTR shadows on almost any setting above med constantly flicker on w7 with my 4850. Those settings work fine on live.

Rock is still used by a few other things. So I don't really pay much attention to it when profiling. Since you can't really include Ace3 for anyone I don't think you should include Rock for anyone either since they're roughly the same thing.

If you have DogTagTexts disabled in PB4 then PB4 makes no use of it at all.

Everything else we use is pretty common stuff (LibDataBroker, LibDBIcon, Banzai, HealCom, SharedMedia).

Allrighty, sounds fair. PB4 will just consist of the PB4 usage, and PB3 can be PB3/DogTags since PB4 has it disabled and is using luatext.

How do you suggest I account for the libs that pb3/pb4 use? PB4 is using luatext, so all of dogtags/rock can go to pb3 counters right? Does PB4 use any libs that other addons likely don't use?

I did it after Chaud jumped onto a PB4 thread and said that our users should use your addon because it's better. The person who started the thread wasn't asking which UF was better. Wasn't asking for advice on choosing a UF. He just had a question about the LuaText change.

Chaud posted a screenshot with no context of what he was doing, how long the profiling had been running and with LibDogTag running. I decided to do a comparision to see what things looked like for myself.

The user asked if performance was better in LuaText or Dogtags, and I simply offered him a better performing alternative to his current UF instead of something better than DogTags.

The screenshot was after 2-3 AVs, using luatext (I think)?

But that's a pretty ridiculous comparison when we've got a number of things you don't (which is perfectly fine).

I'm going to be benchmarking all the popular UF this coming week as fairly as I can, what features are on in PB4 (by default) that SUF lacks? Don't want to miss anything while configing.

Yes, you make a new layout, assign party to that new layout.

Sorry, overlooked that in my rush to play with them before I was called off to do WG.

This may be another oops question, but what about color options, like changing that deep blue that is the mana bar.

    • The options screen is better laid out. The overall design of the options is done to be simpler to configure. Things are more consistent and easier to find. This doesn't mean that you lose options or functionality, it just means that things should be more intuitive
Am I missing the options that allow for say turning off power bars on party frames only or changing text on party frames?

    Quote from jokeyrhyme
I had this error 4 times in Black Temple the other night.

I made a post about it in the CowTip forums over here. I attached 4 error messages.

Is it the consensus that this is a problem with the latest client? Does it look like Blizzard will be fixing this or is it something add-on developers will have to code around?

All of my errors in the last few weeks seem to be related to AceEvent-2.0. Is this problem confined to Ace2, and if so, is it worth porting the most popular of these add-ons to Ace3 or Rock?

Had the same kind of errors in BT when I ran it a few nights ago. I have cowtip and pitbull installed.

It needs some kind of doubleclick speed option. It popped up the targeting circle a million times when doing my dailys tonight. Found that.
It also selects the wrong bomb when flying over the dead scar, making it completely useless if you have 2 bombs.
You might want to check to see if we are in the dead scar, or on the sea/boats.
It also lacks the BEM bombing quest?
