    And at least in my area most people just download attached file from the firt post ...

    If you think personally that this is OK, to only take and not give, then you will have to live with it.

    Even if zone names are the same, I can blacklist entries by category name or quest name. It can and will be done in v1.8.

    *sigh* panic slowly flowing away ... ;-)

    OK i understand you.

    But, i DO have some german-entries in my Database. And although i have no idea where they come from, since i never really play on german version, they are there.

    And by checking the questlist, as you described above, i can see them (the very last quests, starting with Z). But i have no chance to clean my data, would it be an idea to be able to check mark them in CMT to remove it, from my database ?

    or mabye an export/import to csv would be easier ! ?

    another idea was: blacklist non-english-zonenames, but this does not work, since, funny enough, the zone-name of the german-entries in the database are english.

    So to sum it up: i would like to help, but i have no idea how to clean my data or prevent more wrong entries in the future.

    P.S. i cannot switch to a "complete" english version, since my license keys only work in german versions with english language file.

    Would be so much easier if everyone checked their data before syncing :(

    its not necessary that the user does know what data he is sending. e.g. i am using a multi language version and am not 100% sure that Quest is only getting english data. Maybe if it comes frome syncing... i dont know.

    P.s. i switched gathering tools of when playing on a german server though, just in case.

    CMT v1.7 is live!

    great works like a charm ... Thank you.

    Now, if the developers of Cartographer_Quests and Cartographer_QuestObjectives would catch up and make the Databases Faction-LoD ...

    What would you need, or what would have to be done to make such a fantastic tool work for MOBINFO and Auctioneer ? (I know you called it CARTOGRAPHER Merge Tool on purpose)

    I still have to find some time to create something that allows me to merge other datasets from users. When I do that, you guys can start sending me your data files and I can include that information in the initial import.

    did you see this thing: Cartographer Merge Tool ?

    Very nice application. :)

    A request tho. Would it be possible to save the location of the data files so that you don't have to start at My Documents when you want to import or export.

    -- Kodewulf

    cfish has this in the pipe already ;-)

    Requested features:
    - (Barracuda) Let CMT "remember" your paths

    To my eyes the nicest thing would be:

    specifiy 2 default Paths:
    1. WTF-Path: (\games\wow\wtf\account\ACCOUNT\SavedVariables\)
    2. ZIP-Path: (\download\incoming\)

    and then
    * whenever i click on import i can choose:
    * - "from WTF" and CMT jumps to my WTF-Path and is able to import LUA
    * - "from ZIP" and CMT jumps to my ZIP-Path and is able to import ZIP&LUA

    * same for export:
    * - "to WTF" and CMT jumps to my WTF-Path and is able to export to LUA
    * - - nicer even would be here when you default the correct LUA-Name, since CMT knows what it should be like depending on what you just imported.( meaning eather CartographerQuests.LUA or CartographerQuestObjectives.LUA)
    * - "to ZIP" and CMT jumps to my ZIP-Path and is able to export to either a LUA or a ZIP containing the correct named LUA (see above)

    I am thinking of a very simple RadioButton in the Save-Window.

    I am unable to run JRE, I'm running vista X64 but its not supported in any way only AMD.

    Can CMT only run in Java and has anyone got any suggestions preferably cfish

    As far as i know its "only" java. But i would bet that you are getting an Java-VM soon. Did you check the SUN Page ? And i read somewhere that Java 6 x64 runs in Vista.

    The message displayed after synchronizing shows changes to your database

    OK for my *personal fame* it would be interesting to know how much I was contributing to the community, too ;-)
    But thinking about it: since it isnt "live" but "moderated" this would be difficult. But you could do with a "theoretical" number.
    E.G. I uploaded 5 new Quests to the current DB. CMT tells me that i uploaded 5 new. But at the end of the day, my 5 uploaded Quests dont come into the DB since someoneelse contributed it earlier that day.
    --> Thats very Prio C i guess.

    Start by importing one or more supported database files to CMT...
    export the whole database to one single file for being used in game

    Optionally you can also "Synchronize" the database with server, which means that your database will be uploaded (for being approved by admin later on) and you will get everything in the server for return right away.

    to get this straight: SYNC means Upload ? or Up+Download ? And if it is both, how do i have to understand the numbers: e.g. 4 new zones (did i upload them or got them ?)

    I could download "my own data" only after admin approved ?

    @cfish: Do you have a "wishlist" or bugtracker or wiki somewhere ?

    FeatureRequest: Process .ZIP - Files (as Import and Export) ((may not be as import when Sync with server is there))

    FeatureRequest: Let CMT "remember" your paths (as for me my .LUAs are allways at the same place, as are the downloaded ZIPs) and i have to klick through millions of dirs

    Hi Cfish,

    i have again this issue of "cleaning" up those Quest titles, you explained how you avoid them for CGQO but now in CGQ they are there.

    it looks like this:

    					[10484616] = {
    						["title"] = "Barnil Stonepot",
    						["icon"] = "Quest",
    						["info"] = "Quests:\n[40] The Green Hills of Stranglethorn\n[?] Chapter I\n[?] Chapter IV\nWelcome to the Jungle\n[?] The Green Hills of Stranglethorn\n[?] Welcome to the Jungle\nThe Green Hills of Stranglethorn\n[?] Chapter II\n[?] Chapter III",
    						["quests"] = {
    							["[40] The Green Hills of Stranglethorn"] = 40,
    							["[?] Chapter I"] = 40,
    							["[?] Chapter IV"] = 40,
    							["Welcome to the Jungle"] = 30,
    							["[?] The Green Hills of Stranglethorn"] = 40,
    							["[?] Welcome to the Jungle"] = 30,
    							["The Green Hills of Stranglethorn"] = 40,
    							["[?] Chapter II"] = 40,
    							["[?] Chapter III"] = 40,

    and as a matter of fact i have dupes.

    I also decided to release CMT (Cartographer Merge Tool) which can be used for merging QuestObjectives databases without wasting hours in game:

    great !!!! thank you tons.

    This brings me to a question i realized earlier:
    There is a quest:

    					["53-Krom'Grul"] = {
    						["Sha'ni's Nose-Ring"] = {
    							["notes"] = {
    								[43822724] = "Burning Steppes",
    							},
    							["numNeeded"] = 1,
    							["lid"] = 1,
    							["questname"] = "Krom'Grul",
    							["name"] = "Sha'ni's Nose-Ring",
    							["count"] = 0,
    							["level"] = 53,
    							["version"] = 2,
    							["objectivetype"] = "item",

    but in your CMT it shows correct as:

    Horde|Burning Steppes|Burning Steppes|Krom'Grul|53|Sha'ni's Nose-Ring|43822724|1|item

    How is that ? and how is decided when the level is put infront of the text ?

    Thank you
    Barracuda

    this is great. Is there a file that shows German and English Localization? A grid like this would be fine:

    English: German:
    Shadowmoon Valley Schattenmondtal

    That way I could localize the Database.

    Thanks.

    in Babblezone are the local-names you might get it there ?
