Apr 16, 2009The latest ClearFont2 beta still works in 3.1.Posted in: General AddOns
I am working on rewriting it as ClearFont3.
Jan 18, 2009Posted in: AddOn HELP!Quote from PhanxEh, earliest file dates from just over a month ago; it's never been hosted on WowAce before that... but since there is a project page now, the proper place to post your problem would be there, not here. I've never seen the listed author post on these forums, so he/she probably doesn't read them either. The project description (which is also shown on the Curse download page) even has a link labeled "submit a trouble ticket here".
I some times read the forums. ^_~
The issue he is talking about should be fixed in the current release. A library was not being packaged correctly and I fixed that.
Oct 18, 2008Posted in: General AddOnsQuote from saltorioI had the opposite. I tried r147 when it was posted, and it didn't seem to be working for me (posted lots of errors). Switched to Azxiana's version last night, and all worked fine (though I was still getting some errors).
r147 and "Azxiana's version" are the exact same files. It took some punching, but I got the SVN to accept my updates.
Oct 14, 2008Posted in: General AddOnsQuote from ArcadianDelSolthank you. I hate to cast undue aspersions on perfect strangers, but if I were inclined to steal wow accounts, this would be an opportune season.
I am the author of flagRSP2 and I use OS X so my silly applications would have a difficult time steal those rascally Windows accounts. :P
My SVN client is being crappy and will not let me commit to the repository.

Oct 13, 2008Posted in: UpdatersQuote from Matrix110The index file was compressed before for WAU to around 50kb and the Curse Client does not download such a big index file.
In the end your post contains lots of useless letters, that wont change a thing.
It doesnt matter how much Bandwith the Curse Client uses, Curse WANTS(and has to) to EARN money and not just pay their Server/BW bills. They have employees, Office space, Server Space etc. all that needs payment.
And the Curse Client web api and file distribution is already optimized afaik, its not perfect but certainly better than the way WAU/files.wowace.com handled it
Wow, definitely not.
The complete list of AddOns CC downloads with gzip compression is 960kbs. The API when I look at it could use much more optimization. It uses excessive queries to get information about AddOns before it even downloads it.
If they were worried about saving bandwidth they would be optimizing more.
