Alex: I will have another look at it later this week. I will see if I can delay the showing of the pop-up untill after the addon has checked for level.
Sylvanaar: It's on my wishlist, along with making the various modules fully modular. Working on it, but I don't have a fixed deadline yet ;-)

Jun 3, 2007I just updated SpamSentry to fix various minor problems.Posted in: General AddOns
@British: I'm sorry to see that deleting the folders did not solve the problem. However... If you have a look at the screenshot with the error, and compare it to the screenshots you can find on www.wowace.com/wiki/SpamSentry , you will notice that your screenshot shows the old UI. So there must be some old files still floating around somewhere...
Jun 2, 2007Wobin: There's already an event firing, but that one also sets off when someone is deleted from a reportlist, which doesn't make it very usefull for you. I'll add an extra event SPAMSENTRY_SPAMBLOCKED that throws name and message.Posted in: General AddOns
Cordelia: I'm aware of the problem, but haven't had time this week to look into it. I will do so this weekend.
Dunce & Britiish: You have some old files still active. Open your addons folder, and delete all folders with the name SpamSentry in it. After that, reinstall the addon and everything should work ok.
Toadwalker: As Cordelia said: it would help me a lot if you could confirm that it is SpamSentry that is causing the problems, and not a conflict between SpamSentry and some other addon you are running.
May 27, 2007Hello Everyone,Posted in: General AddOns
I just updated SpamSentry on the wowace svn. Would have liked to do it yesterday, but my time was limited, and the svn was down when I tried.
Anyway. The latest features:
- Updated for patch 2.1
- New GUI for spamreporting to reflect changes in the Blizzard interface
- Party-invites from people that haven't whispered you (or you them) or that are not on your friends or guildlist are now ignored. This feature is off by default but can be toggled via the options menu.
As for the problems mentioned with the right-click report button not always being available: I have seen this behaviour as well. To make things clear: during testing I have temporarily disabled all SpamSentry rightclick-menu entries, but this didn't solve the problem. I will look into it further, and post a fix when I find one ;-)
May 24, 2007Patchday was there =)Posted in: General AddOns
Sorry for the late reply, this was what I posted yesterday on other boards:
As you may have noticed Blizzard has disabled the sending of tickets by AddOns. I have a created a new reporting system that makes use of some new spam-reporting functions that Blizzard provides. I'm currently waiting for my EU server to come online so I can do final checks and testing.
With the exception of reporting, the last release 20070521 of SpamSentry has been tested on PTR and should work fine.
I'm finalising the testing (aka waiting for some spammers to show up), running through some last bits of code and will update SpamSentry this evening.
May 21, 2007I've been a bit busy last few days, so apologies for not repying sooner to your questions and feedback. =)Posted in: General AddOns
Dunce: Most likely some folders got mixed up. If you delete all SpamSentry folders, then reinstall the addon, things should be back to normal.
As for the error:
[2007/05/18 17:24:42-1759-x118]: Interface\FrameXML\ChatFrame.lua:2327: attempt to call method 'AddMessage' (a nil value):
When using the delay option, SpamSentry caches the full current environment. When the message is approved, this old environment is temporarily set back, the original event is fired, and then the addon reverts things to normal.
I just noticed some variables in this routine weren't declared local. This may theoretically have caused the problem in combination with other addons, so I'm fixing that right away. If the problem persists please let me know.
May 17, 2007Arandorus: It looks like you are running multiple addons with Ace2 libraries. It also has the looks of it that those libraries get loaded instead of the ones used by SpamSentry. My best guess is that your libraries are slightly out of date and conflict with some that SpamSentry uses. So... Please update all addons from files.wowace.com and see if the problem persists.Posted in: General AddOns
May 17, 2007Just a quick heads-up =)Posted in: General AddOns
For those experiencing problems with the social pane closing at random times: The WhoLib (by ALX) that is shipping with SpamSentry should solve that issue for both SpamSentry, and for most other addons that do who-queries.
As for the upcoming changes: I ran some tests on the PTR, and it looks like I'll be able to make use of the new spam-report function that Blizzard is implementing. I will have to wait for the final release before I'll know for sure ofcourse, but things are looking good.
Anyway =) Let's see how well Blizzards own spam prevention measures work out ;-)
May 16, 2007@Hunterz: The error with disabling/enabling delaying may be related to a version conflict of some ace2 libraries you are using. I'm not sure if or how SpamSentry is related to errors with auctioneer. I use both addons without trouble.Posted in: General AddOns
As for the 'peons' keyword. There was an issue with who-queries in the last release that caused everyone to be queried, which got me a large queue, which in turn made some messages time out without having performed the check. It should be fixed in todays release, so legit messages with the 'peons' keyword should be shown once more =)
May 12, 2007I just uploaded version 20070512. It has various tweaks and fixes, and includes a brand new library: WhoLib by ALX. This library takes care of who-queries, and should take care of the previous problems with the social pane closing at random.Posted in: General AddOns
Please note that this will be the last release for now as Blizzard has implemented a great deal of this addons features into patch 2.1. We will have to see how things work out in patch 2.1, if there's still a need for SpamSentry, it will be there for you ;-)
May 8, 2007Hehe, no more tickets... well I guess at least we got Blizzard attention to the goldselling problem. I am pretty curious as to how Blizzard's improved system is going to look like. I did some testing on PTR the other day, but it still was the same dusty old ticketing thing. No new fancy options yet.Posted in: General AddOns
Skyboat: I didn't know this feature of WAU, so I'll have a look at the documentation. If the testing goes ok, I'll add a filelist.wau to the next release.
May 5, 2007@Hunterz: If you get this error on startup, it is indeed very likely caused by another mod that does a who-query. It does strike me odd as to how spamsentry even thinks it should parse this who-event =S Anyway... I'm working on a complete rewrite of the way who-queries are handled, so this issue should be solved in the next release.Posted in: General AddOns
As for the discussion about appending to tickets: on my todo list. I'm currently waiting to see what changes blizzard will or will not make to the ticketing system in the next content-patch.
Telal, my humble apologies for stealing Aery away from you =D
