I like the direction WitchHunt is moving with the spell filtering, but I miss the old format. it was so much easier to read instead of the full sentences.

I don't remember the old format exactly (probably because it was just so easy to understand at a glance) but compare these:

    "+ Somebody: Some Buff +"
    "- Somebody: Some Buff -"

    vs

    "Somebody Gains Some Buff"
    "Some Buff fades from Somebody"

it's harder to read because the location of the unit and the spell swap sides. it requires reading, rather than just a glance

are there any plans to give customization to the format or maybe just a toggle option to reformat it to the bare facts?

are there any plans of adding a manual calculator sort of like healpoints has? I know you can modify some stats like mp5, spell damage, etc. but I'm thinking of a window where you can add/subtract stats and project the theoretical changes.

oh. I it all happened on the same update so I figured it was an issue with the new options UI. thanks for clearing that up :)

It sounds to me like you are confusing the library that creates the frames and the place that the frame is displayed... the new config UI is just an empty shell where you can show your panels. It's nothing more that Niagra is/was, but not Ace-specific. Any addon can render their config frames any way they want, the new GUI is only giving us a common place to render them. That way users don't have to hunt thru 8 different config registries to find the options, but nothing is preventing those 8 other registries from existing.

ok I guess I don't understand a lot of it. are you saying that I should still be able to use deuce commander and "/rock" to config my ace addons?

so far, the addons I use that have switched (witchhunt, tinytips (broken anyway), omen, Eavesdrop) aren't on deuce commander or "/rock" and Omen's fubar icon just brings up the interface options menu.

first, the menu is just inferior to the rich detailed presentation of rockconfig. one of the things I really love about the rockconfig is the multiple ways to input data like the color picker. I can't recall off the top of my head, but I tihnk there are...3 totally different ways to adjust a color setting. now, at the same time I could just go to deuce Commander and change the same settings in a totally different way or if the addon had waterfall menus I could just go to that. or I could macro the slash commands.

well of course it's the developer's choice. but is it really necessary? any reason to change something that works so perfectly already? I just don't see a reason to change.

blizzard seems to aways fail at trying to add features that addons were formerly taking care of. (don't get me started on the disgusting new combat log)

I can only pray that addons like baggins, grid, and cartographer keep their menus...not only becuase I hate the new options menu, but...I've had to totally reconfigure every addon that has switched.

why are some ace2 addons moving their options to the horribly restrictive built-in interface options?

waterfall, fubar + Deuce Commander, and RockConfig are so much more flexible and easier. the menus and flexibility are one of the things that make the Ace framework/community so amazing. I find this change totally unnecessary and it's a step away from Ace's greatness.

does anyone else feel the same way?
