Update: I'll be updating on WoWI and CF at the same time now due to a change they made on WoWI that I really appreciate. I was being so careful with WoWI updates due to how people are trigger-happy with low votes, but now the voting system has rescinded, I finally feel comfortable uploading there again.

Mad Hatter is a launcher which allows you to easily toggle on/off your helm & cloak models. These states are saved by the mod on a per character basis.

I created this plugin because I've tried other cape/cowel mods but they seem to have an issue where they'll randomly reset after a given amount of time. I couldn't find one that didn't suffer this... so I set out on an insane quest to find a solution, and I knew this would result in me creating my own mod to house that solution.

The end result is that I had to hook the functions responsible for these things, so that only my mod could control them. That's my dirty secret, and I feel such shame over it. Such terrible, terrible shame.

If you don't have the issue where helms/cloaks reset, you're most likely better off with HatTrick. If you do have that problem then my mod isn't too bad of an alternative.

So... this one was due to not having a Broker variant of RecZone available. I dig RecZone, it's made of wonderful. But it's old now and it's FuBar, and all things FuBar must pass into the unending night. So I needed something for Broker, but there was nothing for broker, and the motto with these kinds of things often is "If you can't find a mod, don't ask - make it yourself!". So I did just that.

Okay, for those who haven't used RecZone, you're probably wondering what the hell I'm going on about here. I don't blame you.

Basically, there are two parts to this.

It's an information block thingy as one part that tells you the zone you're in, the sub-zone, and the level-range of that zone. You can toggle between two types of display with that. For example, you could have like Zone (Sub-Zone) [X-X] or you could have Zone/Sub-Zone X-X (where the parent zone is only displayed if no sub-zone is present[).

The tooltip has a bunch of info, in three sections.

The first displays neighbouring zones that border the one you're in (even showing stuff like boats and where they go), the next is a list of instances which you could do at your level, and the last part is a list of zones you could romp around in.

All of this is accompanied with level ranges which are colour-coded. All of that is thanks to the LibTourist library, which is really quite handy!

If all of this babble makes no sense to you--and I don't blame you--then just click the link above. The screenshot will make it all clear.

(The above links will both be updated at the same time, or as close to as humanly possible.)

I put Attrition together because I tried other durability broker pluginry but I often got told that on average my items had a million-gazillion durability (as a per centage) or something crazy like that. The most recent pass I did by Broker_Durability didn't have this fixed, so I assumed the others weren't either... thought "The hell with it!" and put together my own durability mod.

I've kept it simple, there are no options. The broker text shows an average of the durability of your items as a per centage, and in the tooltip the durability of each of your items is shown too (as a math.floor()ed per centage).

Opticon was put together because I wanted a simple solution to accessing various things. It's meant to be used as a launcher because its primary focus is clickyness. And here are the various ways in which you can click it and what they do:

Left Click: Toggles the Blizzard Addons options frame.
Right Click: Toggles the Blizzard Game options frame.
Alt + Click: Opens the Niagara menu (if you have Niagara).
Shift + Click: Reinitialises the graphics renderer*.
Control + Click: Reloads the UI.

    * RestartGx(), basically.

    Glorified shortcut? You know it.

(The above links will both be updated at the same time, or as close to as humanly possible.)

Bagsy is my take on the bag information plugin, I put it together because I like knowing exactly how much space is free in each of my bags (as opposed to just overall) and I have it showing that information in the tooltip. The information display shows the taken/free slots, total slots, colour-coded... yadda yadda yadda.

This really is what you've seen before, just my take on it.

Skylinee: Thanks! I'll look into that, I was hoping that BAG_UPDATE would catch stuff like that, but apparently not. What I think I'll do is add the Trade and Mail events to the list of things that Junkie scans at. If there are any others I've missed, let me know.

(As soon as it's verified, there'll be a new version up that hopefully fixes that issue. Thanks for the heads up, Skylinee!)

Grita: I hope you'll like it! I know how you feel about GarbageFu, I felt the same way. But I'm doing all I can now to move away from FuBar (finally), even if that entails making the mods myself.

    http://wow.curseforge.com/projects/junkie/

(The above links will both be updated at the same time, or as close to as humanly possible.)

I threw this together as a part of my ongoing efforts to remove FuBar from my personal compilation entirely. I needed something to replace FuBar_GarbageFu, but there was nothing really out there to fill that void.

I figured that since I was putting such a mod together though, I'd do my own take on the whole idea. So while it is similar to GarbageFu, the mechanics are somewhat different.

I thought I'd put this thread up here to generate some feedback in the form of suggestions and bug reports. I'll get around to putting up threads for my other DataBroker stuff eventually too, but I'll see how this goes first.

(Edit: Changed the thread title, I actually put the name of the project in there but that's really redundant considering.)

posted a message on Disabling Cloak / Helmet / etc displays annoyingly bugged?
    http://wow.curseforge.com/projects/madhatter/

A while back I made my own solution to this problem, and it's a DataBroker plugin.

I put it together because I found that no matter what I tried, every mod out there seemed to suffer the issue of "The Random Reset". :/ This would set in after a period of time, due to something calling the functions again.

It was driving my roomie and I absolutely bonzo, so I had to do something about it. It took many iterations of Mad Hatter before I finally managed to pin it down.

I actually did a battery of tests not that long ago to make sure it's solid, and it seems to be. I tried flying, dying, reloading the graphical engine, much task-switching, idling for long periods... et cetera. Nothing seemed to faze it.

I've been using Mad Hatter ever since, and I've not seen the random reset issue set in since.

I don't recommend Mad Hatter over anything else really unless you see the random reset issue yourself, but if you do... Mad Hatter may just be your solution.

posted a message on Sort addon
I wanted to use this so much I actually put in the effort to track it down, I've been using it for a while and it's amazingly nifty.

Again, to the original author: I don't think you should abandon this. If you put in a DataBroker plugin to replace the FuBar one, I think you'd be on to a real winner.

This mod just has so many nice touches that haven't been done elsewhere, and it simply outperforms the competition. I think my favourite thing about it is that if I happen to go AFK, Sort automatically sorts my bags while I'm AFK. That's bloody genius, that is.

If it's not welcome here, then continue it on WoWI or Curse(Forge) and don't let your confidence in your work be struck down.

That's all I have to say anyway, I just don't want to see this mod disappearing for all of the worst reasons.

posted a message on Looking for a Recipe List addon similar to TooltipExchange
AckisRecipeList is very nice, and it works great with Manufac too!

Of course, it's not documented how it works with Manufac so this could be where some of this confusion is coming from. I found it by clicking the tradeskill button to bring up the Manufac menu, then I went into options and found a new 'Scan Skills' option there. Clicking that brought up the ARL frame. That's a very clean implementation, I have to say.

I can't imagine there being any confusion with other mods, since it opens side by side with the default TradeSkillFrame, and I believe with Skillet and that Advanced thingamajig too.

I used to use TradeskillInfo too, but wmrojer hasn't touched it in a long, long time. The only updates in the currently existing changelog are by other people who're maintaining the translations but not the mod itself. That doesn't bode well with Wrath around the corner. That's why I switched to ARL.

    posted a message on LibDataBroker-1.1 not-really-official thread
Regarding huge tooltips provided by FuBar2Broker, I have a little trick I like using for that...

    1. /script Tablet20Frame:SetScale(0.1)
    2. Move Blocks.
    3. ??? (Possibly /reloadui)
    4. Functional Blocks.

Both my roomie and I had to use this when we switched recenntly from FuBar to Fortress & ButtonBin (which we like so very, very much).

posted a message on FuBar2Broker (Unofficial)
FuBar2Broker is working grand for my roomie and I at the moment, and it's made the switch from FuBar possible, thank you. In fact, there are only a couple of problems I could find, and they all seem to be menu related. I assume it's here I should post these bug reports, as each of these items is being ported via FuBar and I have the same issues regardless of whether I try them in Fortress, StatBlockCore, or ButtonBin.

    - FuBar_GarbageFu: Menu shows but sub-options of menu are non-functioning. The options can't be accessed due to this, for example, and options are an integral aspect of a plugin such as this one.

    - FuBar_AuditorFu: A part of Auditor2 which has exactly the same problems described above. The menu shows but the sub-menus don't.

    - VitalWatch: Same issue as the above two, the menu shows but submenu items are inaccessible.

    - nQuestLog: When I right click the item in any DataBroker-Handler, I get an error. The error prevents the menu from showing at all. The error is...

    [2008/08/10 19:27:23-3016-x5]: FuBar-1.0\FuBar2Broker.lua:273: Dewdrop-2.0: args.hidePlugin: "name" must be a string
    FuBar-1.0\libs\AceLibrary\AceLibrary.lua:122: in function `error'
    Dewdrop-2.0-78658 (Aloft):2917: in function `Register'
    FuBar-1.0\FuBar2Broker.lua:273: in function `OpenMenu'
    FuBar-1.0\FuBar2Broker.lua:144: in function <Interface\AddOns\FuBar\FuBar2Broker.lua:142>

I hope this is helpful, and I apologise if these issues have been reported before.

Edit: Added VitalWatch, overlooked that one.

posted a message on LibThreat-2.0 and LibDruidMana-1.0 are incompatible.
    Pusikas

You actually see a small bar next to your mana bar, that persists into feral forms? I think that this is something where it wouldn't be missed if it wasn't seen to begin with, so I'm just asking to make sure.

    sag

And you base that on... ?

    Hunter

    Could be.

But I did test SmartyCatManaBar, and there were intermittent issues with that when I had Threat-2.0 based stuff (RecountThreat/Omen2) loaded too.

    In general...

I admit that it might be an issue with RecountThreat/Omen2 and LibDruidMana-1.0 though, as opposed to Threat-2.0 alone.

But as I said in the original post, I did test combinations of those mods, and issues did occur. There seems to be something incompatible with those mods, in general. And the only linking elements I could see between those mods were the libs...

    /shrug

It was only a bug report, anyway and all I was doing was reporting my findings. If that's frowned on and everyone wants to jump to the defense of their favourite mods whenever it happens, then I won't do it again.
