    I would like the possibility of having the number of always shown Buttons configurable and cooldown / duration spirals (as an option instead of bars).

    Being in the same boat maintaining Poppins I would be most happy if someone would actually make popupbars with the new secure templates work at all to get an idea - I will not be the first one, this is way beyond me.
    My personal dream although would be Yapa - Yet another Popbutton addon with generic Buttons in a core and a module system for Totems etc. - actually the way Poppins was designed by Sorata I admit but with more manpower behind the code than my little self. The optimum would be a shared codebase / Core with Toadkillers Autobar - an "auto" periodic module, a totem module...Just a wild idea I know but why not bring it on the table ;)

    I second that. Wait, you are talking to me? ;)

    The current plan is to turn LibStickyFrames into optional support - but I do not know really, since the lib is written by Sorata too which means there is currently neither maintainment nor development.
    Is there anyone out there liking that feature?

    I guess I will have a look how much overhead code it would produce to optionalize it.

    The fade option was gonna be the next feature I wanted to implement.
    It has not happened yet because I wanted to do one thing "right" at a time, one step etc.
    But I kinda **** up with the Durations module, there?s a bug in it which I do not find grml.
    Considering UnitAuras change with WotLK anyway, I will put Durations on a hold and get to fade out the next time I do a coding session.

    Speaking of WotLK, Poppins does not work with it because of a change in the Secure Frames API.
    Currently I have no idea how hard it will be to adapt the code.
    If someone around is into the changes and wants to have a look at the beta, feel free to do so - it would save me many hours of research since I am pretty noobish on the SecureStateHeader anyway.
    Just wanting to mention this really early because I am writing my master thesis fearing doing this alone could kill my time planning and we want a smooth transition do we not :D

    If it is new i suppose it has to do with changes in LibKeybound like keybindings now are only applied after clicking ok.
    Said Ok, abort window works slightly different now if I recall correctly.
    Might have a look at the Libkeybound thread if you are curious, I will however double check if the implementation in Poppins needs to be updated on the next possible occasion.

    Fixed.
    Should be a new version up in a couple of minutes.
    This bug must have been there since ages, it appeared only if you use embedded and no other ace3 addons where loaded first.

    If everyone is talking legal, would there not have to be sueing involved before anyone would *have* to take an addon down?
    I would suppose wowi, curseforge etc. have those checkmarks for agreeing to only upload own data for exactly that purpose - not being the one that can be attacked for other peoples violences.

    Edit: Oh well, I guess that depends on national law so the question is more academic i guess.

    The comments of Rabbit and Moonwitch lead to the other side of the medaillon not even mentioned in the article.
    In english I suppose it is called "patent abuse".
    Patent something really obvious that every sane being would do this exact same way and profit.
    Of course here is no money involved, but protecting copyrights is not a good thing per se.

    I know many might not agree with this, but I find it questionable if the limited possibilities within the wow api offer enough freedom to actually claim intellectual property often. You are not the only beautiful snowflake or sth ;)
    I am pretty aware I am not that good at coding, but at cases like that I personally can not help seeing it as copyrighting 3+4=7 in a sense.
    But that may be a personal vision problem though being discussable.

    I am thinking how this would be achieved best.

    There actually is a nice table returning function already present in Poppins, I wonder if it would be in the category of too much Poppins specific code or unuseful in some other way.
    Poppins.Frame:Iterate() 
    Poppins.PopButton:Iterate() 

    will return all currently used Frames and Popbuttons (used in the sense that there is caching involved and there may be unused buttons).
    The button of the frame is stored in .button.

    So in the end all buttons are accessible via for example
    	for frame in Poppins.Frame:Iterate() do
    		frame.button:DoSomething()
    	end
    	for button in Poppins.PopButton:Iterate() do
    		button:DoSomething()
    	end


    I wonder if this would already "do it" for you?

    Basically all of them work like this atm. Why not study SBF and other addon for inspiration? That is what I do when I wonder about how I implement something the best way.
    The thing worth considering for you is if you want to run through UnitBuff on every aura change or if you want to create a time threshold, so if 5 auras on a unit change in 5 ms or sth. the function is not called 5 times.
    Mostly this would be possible in pvp though - another event worth mentioning is if a player dies so you can just nil all his buffs.

    Hm, if I may ask stupidly:
    What exactly would you need again?
    The original author has not been around for a while and I am mainly doing some bug fixing and polishing - read: I am often a bit confused and overwhelmed when it comes to the whole frame state stuff.

    Basically a one dimensional table with all the buttons and popbuttons names as a list, or the objects themselves or...?

    I think there is an invisible button haunting the around mode, do not ask me why.
    Possibly the introduction of frame strata settings made it angry...
    You might test what happens if you raise the frame strata of the button higher than the strata of the popbutton.
    Does this change anything?
    Otherwise I will try to reproduce this when I am in game next time and go hunting this bug.

    You are missing...the function ;)

    Actually no one has asked for this yet, considering most people do not use many buttons I assume.
    So currently you just delete the buttons and the group (if I wonder what are the names of the buttons I want to delete I just unlock the buttons to see their number).
    It would of course be possible to implement, but I am not really convinced of it being high priority.
    So, I will put this on my to-do-in-some-time list, if you can tell me how/why it could be a deal breaker for you, I am convinceable to move it up.

    It is very annoying to debug since I cannot force it, though no eat on this.
    Plus the BF things are mostly Soratas code I am sometimes having trouble getting it (or the other way round I mostly know where in my code I do terrible terrible things that are likely to break).

    I will look at the Strata level - it is strange since I have tested it with Pitbull and the chat frame working well.
    Isup I have forgotten a call somewhere, maybe it just works fine immediately after changing it in the options. Do you know which Strata Grid uses? Maybe if both are high this could result in this inconsistence too.

    The library is there because either I failed to use the API correctly or there is a bug in the following circumstance:
    Unlike SBF for example I need durations not only timeleft (SBF just sets duration = timeleft if there is trouble). So I, most naturally attempted to get them via UnitBuff. The problem there is: If you *have* Buffs while logging in, UnitBuff seems to deliver the name of the Buff, but nils on duration. I first used a code to cache the durations when UnitBuff is working in the db, but afterall it became more complicated then just use simple table calls. Because of that I borrowed the table style organization of RBM to get the duration nevertheless. If I could work that out, the lib would be gone again isup (Although I would have to create a blacklist for interruption on CLE and Spell Succeeded on runtime again - but that is not a big deal. The tables are in a lib just because there is some stuff on the branches that could use this too if it is used properly which I know the durations code does not yet (will be cached instead of recalled if I do not find a way to get UnitBuff working). I assumed the lib being just helper functions would not produce much overhead.
    The whole thing is not working quite well yet, the other main problem is that I atm create another cd layer which is not the way I wanted it, but since TotemTimers RawHooks UpdateCooldown I fear trouble if I do the same in Durations.

    Now that you mention it, "Iteration" is written like that in german too, was just copying the stuff ;)
