This does not answer your question (I realize that, I didn't look at your code yet).

However for running test code in game you can use _DevPad

I use WowLua.

So my initial thought was basicly
if currentActionbarItemType ~= savedActionbarItemType and currentActionbarItemType ~= savedActionbarItemType then
PlaceAction(index) --Put it back
end

After releasing 3 addons, i still feel like a newb at lua, so I am sorry for any confusion caused and THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME AND INPUT! :)

PS. If you want to see the code live, check out http://wow.curseforge.com/addons/profiles-action-bars/ DS.

You're aware that both of those conditionals are the same, right?

I read the OP as "it's printing "Oh noes!" instead of "heja". At any rate, they are correct. To satisfy an AND operator all conditions must be true.

That's obviously not your actual code (print(value) not print value), so post your actual code.

Edit: Scratch that, it should work as written with print "string". But that still can't be your actual code.

Edit(2): I copy n' pasted that code and it prints "heja" as expected.

Well, I tried to respond to this post twice, but my login session timed out both times (at times I am lengthy with my responses) and I lost my write-ups.

Are you logging in via the forum's login or via the login link at the top of the page. The former is unreliable. The latter always works.

Looks like it's a time stamp.

At any rate, Blizzard makes sure it's positive by using this: max(self.expirationTime - GetTime(), 0).

Is self.expirationTime the exact time stamp the (de)buff expires or is it the number of seconds remaining? If it's the former, subtracting GetTime() from it is going to make for some weird results.

The very first line you posted has an obvious syntax error:

<Ui xmlns=<Ui xmlns="http://www.blizzard.com/wow/ui/" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.blizzard.com/wow/ui/FrameXML/UI.xsd">

I can't believe we all missed that.

(another technique would be to define them as methods of a table or frame which would be in scope of the entire body of code).

Or if you want to give yourself an aneurism (or scratch all the hair off your head), you can use setmetatable() with setfenf() to change the environment (makes variables not defined local get placed in a different table other than _G).

i'll have to try that, thanks!

And fix your <OnClick>. You can't execute files like that. If you want to load it via XML, put <Script file="BasicNotepad.lua" /> outside the <Button>.

E.g.:
<UI ...>
<Script file="BasicNotepad.lua" />
<Button ...>
...
</Button>
</Ui>

Hook the chat frame's OnHyperlinkClick script handler.

Edit: Some things to note:
* All links are handled with this script handler, including item links, spell links, etc.
* link looks like this: player:egingell:5 or player:egingell.
* text looks like this: egingell.

DungeonMate?

I had no problem accessing the SVN.

Edit: The link myrroddin provided is for how to use it, and it has nothing to do with your problem. Sounds to me like you're having DNS or connectivity issues. Try restarting your router, modem, and/or computer.
