    I really should've finished writing that Formats module.

    To answer your question: I'm not sure, Brigand, sorry. Personally I don't use the PlayerNames module. Maybe someone else can be more helpful.

    posted a message on Tool to weed out unused addons/libraries?
    After fiddling around for a few minutes at a time over the last infinite months, I've ended up with this in my AddOns folder:

    [fini:pgl]:/cygdrive/c/Programs/WORLDO~1/INTERF~1/AddOns $ cat clean-unused-libs.sh
    #!/bin/bash

    declare -a notfound

    tocs=$(find . -name '*.toc')
    tmpfile='./_tmpalltocs'

    cat $tocs > $tmpfile

    for libpath in $(grep -l X-Category..Library */*.toc)
    do
        lib=$(dirname $libpath)

        echo -ne "$lib:\t"

        let x=0; for y in $(egrep -c "(^$lib|X-Embeds:.*$lib)" $tmpfile); do let x=$x+$y; done

        echo $x

        [ $x = "0" ] && notfound[${#notfound[@]}]=$lib
    done

    echo ""
    echo ""

    echo "Total not found: ${#notfound[@]}"

    if [ ${#notfound[@]} -gt 0 ]
    then
        echo ""

        for missinglib in ${notfound[*]}
        do
            echo -- " - $missinglib"
        done
    fi #n

    It works well enough, I think. So if you have Cygwin installed, it should tell you what useless libs you have installed (well, maybe some libs aren't really being used anyway, but it'll tell you which libs (that have been classified as libs, so of course you'll miss the really bad ones) aren't being read by WoW... I think.)

    Maybe I should add optdeps. I dunno. It's not exactly production quality code. :)

    posted a message on ClosetGnome - Wear it or lose it.
    Just wanted to report a minor (slightly obscure) bug: when going from set 1 to set 2, if you want to keep a trinket that's already equipped, but move it to the other slot, it doesn't move -the other trinket stays there and the one you wanted to keep gets replaced.

    set 1
    equipped: Trinket A, Trinket B
    in bag: Trinket C

    set 2
    equipped: Trinket B, Trinket C
    in bag: Trinket A

    when trying to equip set 2, you end up with:

    equipped: trinket A, Trinket C

    Something happens - if I have my bag open I end up holding the trinket C on the cursor - but it doesn't work. I guess it's failing on the swapping part, and then the trinket you wanted to keep gets replaced.

    Aaaanyway - swapping trinket slots is not very important. I just thought I'd report it so next time you're in the code maybe you'll remember. Plus it's always good to know these things, even if it's not worth doing anything about, I think. :)

    As ever, heartfelt thanks for the all work that's been done on this wonderful addon.

    cheers,

    - Fin

    PS: in case you were wondering why I would want to do this in the first place - it's because when I need to equip a specific trinket the easiest way is just to right click from my inventory, which swaps it with whatever's in slot A - so I keep this slot as the least useful trinket currently equipped for a particular situation. :)

    posted a message on BulkMail2 (Inbox)
    I have a request:

    Please, pretty please, could there be a way to either sort lists of items, or filter them somehow? (I guess the sorting option would be easiest to add.)

    Sometimes some of my characters have huuuuge mail queues, and I need to find a specific item in that list somewhere. This is a bit of a bugger with an unsorted inbox (or sort of sorted? I'm not sure what order items appear in really).

    Also, at least one of my characters has so many individual items that he's assigned as the autorecipient for, I have the same problem if I ever want to remove one of those items. (One of my mules was a quest item guy, so had all sorts of random semistacks of crap assigned to be sent to him automatically - when I actually needed the items, and wanted to stop them being sent to him, it wasn't easy picking it out from the list (which is lovely and compact for normal use but not well suited for this in my opinion)).

    Total BM2 fanboi tho - thanks muchly for a great mod.

    cheers,

    - Fin

    First: please could you add the option to display objective progression in a chat frame? I like the scrolling text, but sometimes it's nice to have something that doesn't disappear.

    OK, I've just noticed that if you minimise the quest tracker, you get the objective progression updates in the chat frame. That'll do me. :)

    I really like this. A lot. But I can't get it to work. At all.

    I've deleted my savedvariables and pitbull and reinstalled and I still can't get my frames to look remotely like yours.

    Would you be willing to post your pitbull.lua from your savedvariables so I can figure out what is different from mine? Thanks.

    Me too! I'm in exactly the same situation.

    Hello,

    I'm very much liking bEQL so far, thanks for the addon. I have two feature requests, one minor, the other, well, I don't seriously expect you to actually implement it, but hey if you don't ask it's just as much your fault it doesn't get added.

    First: please could you add the option to display objective progression in a chat frame? I like the scrolling text, but sometimes it's nice to have something that doesn't disappear.

    Second: could you please add the ability to reassign quest categories? ie, so that I can move a quest from the Orgrimmar category to the Ashenvale category. If possible, being able to assign arbitrary categories for quests would be nice (Mars Quest Organiser just lets you set whatever category you like - if the category exists, it adds the quest to it, if you move the last quest in a category somewhere else, the category disappears).

    cheers,

    - Fin

    Bet you were so giddy with yourself and probably read and reread it again befor you posted it......

    Oh, yes, I frequently have to take rests after being overwhelmed by my own brilliance. Fortunately, my physique is both naturally superior to the average human's and of course always in excellent shape from my many sporting activities, so it's not too much of a problem.

    I usually don't feed the trolls but your remarks ruffled my feathers a bit.

    Well, good, because your posts ruffled mine.

    Quote from Maytrix »

    I will assume your remark was pointed in my direction so first off I would like to say to you..piss off asshat.

    While your being an ass, I will go ahead and call you on your silly little reply/challange,

    Below is the fix for the bindings issue, can you handle it? Are you worthy of my time? Should I spend my hard earned knowledge with the likes of you?

    First off let me state that I am complete noob to coding and you well you sir are the know all arent you?? I believe you stated befor that it would take a total rewrite to fix the mousewheel issue, you were dead wrong in fact it only took 22 lines of code.

    I will post the fix anyways to spite myself because I really have an issue with giving you the fix when you have been so witty and polite, but I do give back to this community, I do have 40-50 of my own personal mods that I share with my compilation users, and I always post in these forums found fixs to broken ace mods hosted by this site.

    Sir, I would like to offer my sincere apologies for the tone of my previous post, and commend you for getting off your arse and making shit better. Well done.

    Just to try and maybe correct your opinion of me slightly, however, I want to say that I never tried to claim to be give you a definitive answer to your question, or give a definitive answer to your post - in fact I actively try to avoid doing anything like that most of the time, especially when it's not my mod. In my post - which hasn't been edited, so you're welcome to go check :) - I phrased it as first admitting I didn't know how to do what you wanted, then saying that "I think it would require", and even added the caveat "assuming I'm right". This is because I know I'm surrounded by people who are a lot smarter than me and know a lot more than I do about Lua, WoW addon coding, and most other related subjects, and it would be foolish of me assume otherwise.

    Your replies however did not seem to show the same consideration with regards to the people around you.

    Here's what happened from my point of view: you posted about some issues you were having then followed up the post later on, showing you actually cared about this. Rather than let your post go unanswered, I tried to give you some sort of response, because I really hate it when noone bothers to reply at all, and I think that even a mostly unhelpful response is better than nothing. You then replied to my post with a sweeping statement condemning the addon as useless, without any real argument backing up your opinion or even admitting it actually was an opinion rather than fact, and as is sadly very typical of posts like these there was no hint that you'd done anything except complain. And what you'd actually said was such utter rubbish - that the addon was "completely useless" because it didn't implement something that hadn't even occurred to most other people was possible! Follow it up with a "booo" just to make it absolutely clear that you personally feel let down, and I juuuust couldn't believe how it was possible you'd missed so many things like, it was free software and you're not actually entitled to it so can't complain when something's not done; the addon is a really nice key binding management system that worked really well and was only missing one feature you wanted; that you're not actually the only person using the addon, this makes it useful; that treating people like shit after they've done something in their own time for no money and with no support is not how you treat people; that you had in no way actually contributed anything at all!

    So, if I was being an arse, then I apologise, but basically I was angry. Anger is the wrong response to anger, and I should've replied by politely pointing out how you were perhaps being unreasonable. (I do try to do that all the time - the world would be such a nicer place if people were just a bit more polite to each other instead of overreacting.) I would say, maybe, that you are taking this a little too personally though; despite going into so much detail here, it's not because I've spent the last three months unable to think about anything else, spending my time brooding at home in a darkened room - it's just because I think I should explain why I was nasty after you; I would never take you posting a patch as it being to me somehow.

    Major kudos for not just giving up on the situation, and actually fixing it yourself. I'm very lazy myself and have a lot of respect when people follow through.

    Now I must go have a little lie down, as I'm feeling dizzy from this little essay I have written here - a little dazzled, you might say - and must leave you with the hopes that it delights and amuses you to take account of my unfailing wit and incisive intellect, which I share to benefit the good of the general populace.

    You can search this thread. Just use the search box; it defaults to the current thread (or forum, or whatever is the most releveant dataset).

    I have a weird feeling the search box isn't there on the default skin. If you can't see a search box, try changing the skin to the default SMF skin. (It's a llight blue one.)

    cheers,

    [edit: Noted that the default SMF theme was light blue. Heh.]

    I think Yatlas might be what you're looking for:

    - http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info4497-Yatlas.html

    I'm just going on my memory of the description and how you've described it below.

    You can get it here:

    - http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info4497-Yatlas.html

    Changelogs:

    - http://cornhooves.org/svn/wowui/branches/Yatlas-0.7.x/ChangeLog.txt

    It's a 623.34 KB download, so significantly smaller than both Cartographer and Atlas (with their default set of modules), although that's no guarantee of code quality of course.

    Hope it helps. If not, good luck finding something.

    cheers,
