    Quote from Zidomo »

Bayi just did a bug-fix commit yesterday.

    ...

QuestGuru is another "EQL-like" mod like bEQL, but likely the most well done of them all. QuestGuru is active development, has a similar concept as bEQL (with a few more features), a working quest history, no taint, not many functional bugs historically that were not fixed soon after and it plays well with other addons (LightHeaded, MobMap, Mars Quest Organizer, etc.). Still hope bEQL continues to improve, though.

Thanks for the recommendation. (Bit naughty of you in the bEQL thread, but your cheek has made me happier.) Hooray!

The author of WIM has contacted me, and has merged the changes I made for Prat_WIM into WIM itself, so ... I won't be updating Prat_WIM once the next WIM is released - you can just download the once off of his website wimaddon.com

Woohoo! Nice one. Only took, what, a year?

Is there a way to get the channel names in the editbox to condense?

    Currently, no.

    cheers,

PS: As ever, anyone who wishes to add this functionality (to the Editbox or ChannelNames modules in this case) is invited to do so!

    Hi,

I'm not sure what this means or why it's occurring, but I thought I'd better report this error I'm seeing when I update from the SVN repository:

I did a bit of searching but couldn't find this, so apologies if it's already been asked or even implemented. Would it be possible to add a "list circular references" functionality to the altnames module?

It wouldn't be too difficult to add I suppose, but I'm afraid the limited utility doesn't warrant adding it, sorry. There's quite a few little updates I should add to the altnames stuff, but, well, I have this genetic mutative disease virus and the symptoms are really rather severe, including what might be seen as laziness at first (but is really just one of the many awful things I have to live with).

I have a question along the same lines. I would like my timestamp to be a uniform pattern, but any moment in time with a "1" messes this up.

Just use a fixed width font. It's not currently possible to seperate the timestamp from the rest of the line in chat frames (or to split up the line at all, and have it still display as a line :)), so you can't have it, say, aligned right and the text of the chat message aligned left.

As usual there is probably a fairly simple answer that I have just overlooked, but please tolerate my stupidity...

My question is, how do I create extra channels using prat. With the standard Blizzard chat it's as easy as right clicking any of the channel tabs and then clicking 'Create new Tab/Channel' something like that.

I cant seem to find this option when prat is enabled.....I've had a good look through the volumous Prat configuration menu, but cant find the answer that I need.

    I'm sure it's pretty easy!!!!

    Thanks

    Orathun

The reason you can't create a new chat frame (not chat channel) is probably because you have already created the maximum number of frames. I hit this limit quite early on too, and it wasn't obvious that this was the cause - the "Create frame" option just disappears. But, there is a maximum of 7 (I think) frames. There is also a limited number of chat channels you can be in (10).

If this only seems to be happening while you have Prat enabled, it's possible you have Prat configured so that it automatically joins a channel of some sort for you. Type /chatlist to see what channels you're in, and type this to see how many chat frames you have:

    /run SELECTED_CHAT_FRAME:AddMessage('chat frames: ' .. NUM_CHAT_WINDOWS)

    Quote from Malreth »

It would seem that Closet Gnome uses the full item link while ItemRack only used the base item ID. The advantage of using the full link is that you can differentiate between items that differ only in their enchants (Rogues swapping out identical daggers with different poisons on them, for example).

Also it avoids problems such as with the Warblades of Hakkari - both the offhand and the main hand weapon they have the same name but are only able to be equipped in one of the weapon slots.

posted a message on Modality (advanced paging for Bartender3)
    Basically:

    • unlock your Bartender3 bars
    • right click the bar you want to appear only on certain conditions
    • go to Button Paging -> Enabled -> choose Advanced
    • go to Button Paging -> Edit States
    • if you want the button hidden by default, click the "hidden" checkbox at the bottom of the window
    • click "Add New"
    • click the box titled "Condition"
    • in the input box that appears, type the condition that you want the bar to appear or disappear, then OK (and make sure the "Hidden" checkbox is checked appropriately for this condition): eg, if you want it to (dis?)appear when you are in combat, type [combat] in the input box

For a reference on conditions, see the page linked on Modality's wiki entry, which I posted below.

[edit: Why doesn't my HTML work? I'm sure it should. Balls!]

Don't name a wiki page based on the URL you will get, that's what redirects are for. Example: http://www.wowwiki.com/WW:EL

Hell, make more redirects if you want, they're super easy in MediaWiki.

If you rambled less here and more on the wiki page, it would be done already :P

What is this "rambled" you speak of? I think I may have heard of it, tell me more.

    [edit]
What I meant to say was, of course:

Excellent. I am a big fan of multiple helpful redirects (or, aliases I'd call WoWWik's impementation, as the user isn't actually redirected (even though the server is internally)). It did cross my mind that redirects would be useful, but I didn't realise that an admin wouldn't be needed to create and maintain them. (I have actually created one myself a month or so ago, and remember being surprised that I was able to do this myself. Not surprised enough to connect the possibility to do so when it was actually relevant, I guess, but hey.)

Now about this rambo thing you mentioned...

posted a message on Bartender3 - Action Bar AddOn for WoW 2.0
    Quote from Skrap »

I would like to make some bars show/hide when entering/leaving combat. I can't find a way to do this now so I suppose this would be a feature request. If this would be added to Bartender3 I wouldn't have to keep using the apparently abandoned InfiniBars to do this for a few buttons, which would be nice. Does anyone know of another non abandoned button addon that can do this?

The Modality plugin for BT3 allows this very easily, and in fact I have just configured my bars to do exactly that. Also, some bars only show up if I'm in combat and targetting a hostile unit, and some only if my pet is there, etc. etc. Modality really is truly fucking awesome.
