It's a bug in the current patch from what I've read. Just like some people had their chat filter turning on every time they logged in, some people get the nameplates turned off :\ Thanks though, I'll check into the keybinding :)
Hi, since 4.whatever patch about a month ago, my nameplates have been turning off every time I log in on any character. It's like the client forgets that I've checked the box to turn on enemy nameplates :\
Does anyone know of an addon or a script that I can stick in a macro that will turn on nameplates for me? An addon would be the best, but I can also press a macro button. That will save me from hitting escape, interface options, names, then clicking the box every_single_login lol :)
edit: I use Aloft nameplate addon and have looked for an option in there that would turn on nameplates but did not see one.
Hi, thanks for your help. I'm looking for a Witchhunt (spell alert) replacement, since it's been broken for some time now.
When using Witchhunt, I had it configured to send its output to Mik's Scrolling Battle Text (MSBT) and from there I could position where the text would go and how it would behave.
If anyone has any suggestions on a good replacement, I'd love to hear it :) Thanks!
Hi, thanks for reading. Just have a couple quick questions regarding Healbot, and I'm hoping someone can help me out :)
First, I'm wondering how to disable Healbot from showing any icons, count numbers, or otherwise on the player boxes. For instance, I don't need to see how many seconds are left on the paladin's holy shield, or how many stacks of holy power are built up. I thought I had configured it properly, I went to paladin, and used the drop down list to select each spell, and set it to None. But they still show up. I want to disable icons/counts/etc for every class too - is there a way to disable that with an option in one fell swoop somewhere?
Second, is there a way to to have the healbot window show up only when I'm in my healing spec? I don't care to see it when I'm in my tank or dps spec.
I'm usually pretty good at finding options in addons, but this addon seems to be super config intense and it's a bit of overload right now :) Thanks for your help!
turns out it's probably a carbonite bug :\ i moved my party frames and still didn't get any popup, so it's not that it's just being hidden under my party frames, it's that it's not even there to begin with. hopefully disabling carbonite will fix it up.
Thanks. Yes, my party frames are on the right hand side of my screen. I'm willing to move them temporarily to move that new thing out of the way, but then the party frames gotta go back :p
Thanks for the suggestions. I'll try those and see what I can do.
Can anyone suggest a mod or some method to move the new quest popup feature?
I did a few instances last night on my new toon and the quest popup thing was hidden behind my party frames. I'm not willing to move my party frame so I'm hoping the quest thing can be moved :)
I don't have the name for this quest popup thing but it comes up when you complete the previous quest. for instance, npc at start of dungeon gives you a quest to kill the first boss. when you kill the first boss, the quest thing pops up and gives you reward and the next step in the chain to kill the next boss.
Hi again :) Wondering what kind of combat log mods are out there nowadays. The selection seems pretty limited (have only found HitsMode which I don't really like...)
YurrCombatLog did everything perfectly until this last patch (throwing errors now) so are there any other options? I'm mainly interested in removing the black dead space at the top of the combat window (I have prat to remove the tabs, but the black space at the top for picking filters is still there).
near the center of my in game UI, there is an invisible element which is clickable. i hear the clicking sound but nothing happens. this is really "dead space" since if i click in that spot to try to target something, or to move my character or turn the camera, nothing happens.
i've come across a macro before where you can hover an element like this, hit the macro, and the macro will tell you what you're hovering, but i can't find this macro now when i actually need it :)
anyone have any idea about the macro i'm talking about? any help will be appreciated! Thanks.
awesome, thanks for the information! i'm surprised that there's not an option in wow itself to turn off the quest tooltip stuff, but i'll definitely look for that option in carbonite and turn it off.
thanks!
Hi all. I have kind of a weird issue :) I'm not sure where to even start other than to post 2 pics.
The first pic shows double the quest information in the tooltip. The 2nd pic shows a super-long tooltip when I moused over the NPC. I always get the double-tooltip information for quests, but only usually get the super-long info line (usually, not always).
So, first, can anyone tell me why I'm getting double tooltip info? I use TipTac for my tooltip and Carbonite for my quest addon. I've looked in the blizzard options and tiptac options but can't find anything to turn off for quests.
And second, does anyone know why my tooltip gets super long most of the time, and how I can prevent this?
I'd only like to see the quest objectives in the TT and not hte name of hte quest or the quest's text lol.

is there an addon that checks my current settings to see if nameplates are on, and if not, turns them on?
thank you ace community for fixing a bug in blizzard's code persistent for at least the last 2 patches.
