qweasd for movement, though I didn't unbind the arrow keys, quite possibly out of laziness. 1234567890-=, without modifiers and with shift or control for my 3 action bars. c-s-1234567890 for the pet bar. Default bindings otherwise.
Technically, I have blink keybound to = mentally, so I have small bouts of trouble while playing other classes, eg. spamming Demon Armor when something's getting too close for comfort.

Apr 15, 2008The data broker library should only partake in the exchange and storage of information between the display addons and the plugins. The display addons should just take the information and display it. The plugins should simply provide information.Posted in: Libraries
But, this system clearly results in a conflict of how much control should be sacrificed on the plugin author's end, to make it easier on him, so that we can decide on how much the display addons must do. To strike a nice, middle ground between control and ease of use, we need another member in this exchange.
Another library could be written to make it easier to create the information to pass along to the display addon from the plugins, for typical use. The info passed along to the display addon would be in the form with the most control (OnEntr, OnLeave functions, etc. as opposed to .tooltipText), but since it would be generated by this other library, it would also be easier for the plugin author to write for and use the dtaa broker system.
Of course, the library would be completely optional, so for more complicated tooltips and other settings, the plugin author could code them from scratch, and the display addon would simply display them as usual.
Apr 14, 2008Try typing this in-game:Posted in: General Chat
/console SET screenshotQuality 10
If that doesn't work, try taking out the SET, I haven't used it before.
Basically, it'll set the console variable screenshotQuality to a value of ten, which happens to be as high as it'll go.
If it doesn't get mad at you for trying an illegal command, then try taking a screenshot, and see if it's any better than your old ones.
Apr 11, 2008The point is that to make a single data block, the bar addon would simply have to create a frame, take only the attributes that it cares about from the data block, and apply them to the frame. Eg. the bar gives the addon 'foo' a data frame. It calls .foo.icon:SetTexture(icon attribute), and .foo:SetScript("OnClick", OnClick attribute).Posted in: Libraries
This makes it nice, easy, and lightweight for the bar addon, and then gives the author of the addon 'foo' the greatest flexibility in what he can set the attributes of his addon's data frame to.
True, this does give the author of 'foo' extra work, but other libraries could be used to make it easier. (eg. DewDrop)
Tah-dah! This makes it easier for the authors of the bar addons and the misc. addons that use the bar addons, and only requires more effort from the people writing the libraries that communicate between the two.
Apr 8, 2008That local function there is still referenced - by the file that it's in. It's only accessible from that file, and when you nil it out, then it gets gc'd. You don't need to keep a global reference to it, unless you need it to be accessible from another file. Then, once that other file has a reference to the variable(s), then you can nil out the global, and nothing will be broken.Posted in: Lua Code Discussion
Though this does bring up a question from me. If, inside a function, you declare a variable, but don't explicitly call it a local (eg. local varname = value), is it then function-local, or a global?
Apr 7, 2008If you just need the name of it, hover your mouse over it and typePosted in: Lua Code Discussion
to dump the name of the frame into chat. If it prints out "WorldFrame", then you'll have to look through the Blizzard Interface Data folders, downloadable from the WoW main site, under Media->Other Downloads.
Apr 6, 2008We do have a Data Broker lib out, it just needs testing. I was starting work on a bar mod to test it with (ZanziBar), but I haven't been able to do any more work on it as of late. All we need to do is test the library, work out any bugs, and then it's ready to go.Posted in: Libraries
The lib is here.
Apr 5, 2008I've finally finished my concept art for what I'm aiming for for my UI, and now I'm working away at coding it all up into one addon (not counting other addons for LoD purposes, eg. bank frame, raid frames, etc.).Posted in: General Chat
I'm almost finished coding the action bars, so it's not too late for criticism!
And yes, I am planning on making it available on WoWUI and/or the SVN once I'm done.
I didn't bother trying to add SCT, chat frames, quest log, fubar frames, minimap pic, worldframe, etc. to the pictures, but they will be a part of the UI in the end. The fonts are probably gonna change too.
