    posted a message on Getting a table with a string
    Whoo! Thank you!
    I had tried 'table["Test"]', but I hadn't seen _G before. Man, that manual is hard to read.

    posted a message on Getting a table with a string
    Right now I'm having trouble with finding the syntax needed to get a table with a known string.
    Basically, I want to be able to do this:
    Test = {a=function() return 1 end}
    ("Test").a()

    I'm having trouble finding out what '("Test")' should be, I've tried many different things, and have tried looking through the Lua manual, but I haven't gotten anything yet.
    Help?

    Typo on line two:
    local addon = ZonCommands

    Should be:
    local addon = ZoneCommands

    Hmmm, more code to learn from...thanks!

    posted a message on UIGnomes
    I'm working on what I like to call a "Unification Library", named UIGnomes for now (it will most probably change later on). I'm building it to try handle a single, unified set of AddOns, as I'm tired of having way too many mods that don't do enough, don't have enough options, and having their own unique, hidden little ways of accessing their options menu (if they even have one).
    Right now I'm looking for people who want to help out/are interested in it, and advice on how to build up this library.

    More info is on my user page, which I'll try to keep updated.

    Wow, them folks at wowwiki are fast at the draw. They've already got all the Guild Bank API online.
    Yay for OneBag AddOns!
    Boo for +1000epm(errors per minute) bugs!

    posted a message on Edit chatbox size?
    The reason no other mod does resizing, is because Blizzard's UI already does it. Make sure that "Lock Chat Frame" or whatever in the advanced interface options is UNCHECKED, then simply hover the mouse over the chat frame you want to resize. After about a second, the chat frame will be highlighted with a background frame. From this, you can drag on the edges to resize it.
    Oh, and don't feel bad about not knowing about this. I didn't realize it either till my mod-hating friend casually resized the chat frame in front of my very eyes.

    Two reasons for the bump:
    1) It wasn't getting any posts,
    2) I've got a basic outline drawn up on my user page. It'll be constantly updated, since I've really got nothing better to do than leveling (and who wants to do that?). In the meantime I'll be coding this soon-to-be-monster and trying to get through highschool.

    posted a message on Inter-mod communication
    Right now I?m making a mod that houses a series of plugins and libraries that those plugins use. I?ve played around quite a bit with modding, but I?ve hit a major issue: I don?t know how to do inter-mod communication. I?ve searched wowace and wowwiki for something, but the closest thing I got was AceEvent-2.0 API documentation, and most of it was auto-generated and more or less non-descript. I found out that AceEvent also helps with inter-mod communication, but I can?t figure out how.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Right now I'm planning on making a (hopefully) small mod framework, GUI Gnome. It would handle GUI manipulation, such as changing the minimap, adding artwork frames, repositioning of the action bars, etc., and a set of 'tool' libraries for joining them together. I'm a born coder, and I'm mainly wanting to do this just for the sake of having a big project to crunch on and learn from, but of course I'll probably need help on some of the harder stuff. For now, while I set up a basic idea of how it's gonna work, I'm gonna need ideas and suggestions to make sure it doesn't end up crappy and limited.

    posted a message on finding an .mp3's length (time)
    Hi all,
    Right now I'm trying to make a mod that plays different music files when certain events happen, right now namely entering combat, and leveling up.
    I've figured out how events, Ace2, etc., and how to play/stop music, but I've hit an obstacle: the music loops automatically, and I don't know how to keep it from doing so.
    One way that I thought of is by finding how long the file is, setting a timer to that value, then stopping it after the timer goes.
    Anyone know how to do something like this, or is there a simpler way?
