Yes its fixable if I can reproduce the problem on my game client. I'm not sure about your specific case since I cant reproduce it, I dont see "/w [name]" when i up arrow.

Do you have the alias module enabled? Other chat addons?

Prat is the only chat addon I use. It's great, btw. I do not have the alias module enabled either. But, I think I have figured out what triggers it ...

After conversing with a few people, send someone a message. Then open chat again, TAB to someone else's name other than the last person you typed to, then press UP ARROW. You should see the /w [name] of the original recipient at the beginning of the message.

The TAB key may be to be the trigger.

    -- edit --

    Okay, try this:

    Type...
    /w toonname [return]
[return] (to bring chat back up)
    [type message] [return]
[return] (to bring chat back up)
[up arrow] (to bring up last message)

... there should be no "/w toonname" ... but ...

    /w toonname [return]
[return] (to bring chat back up)
    [type message] [return]
[return] (to bring chat back up)
    [Tab] (to cycle toon name)
[up arrow] (to bring up last message)

... I then get "/w toonname" as a prefix on my last message sent

Is there a way to have it not place the "/w [original name]" before the chat message when you up arrow to bring a previously sent message up again?

I often use this to send messages to multiple people so I don't have to retype it every time. The placement of the original recipient's name at the beginning has caused me to send the same message to the same person repeatedly, and it is a pain to have to edit out manually every time.

Since the Bartender4 bars are not really in any fixed position, its rather hard to influence the positioning of the bags (which is done by some big-ass blizzard functions that manages all their frames). I'm not even sure it is possible at all without tainting those functions.

I was thinking that the other bar addons did it by suppressing the visual of the original (stock) bars. In other words, the bars are there, just not visible or functional, so the game displays the bags as if the right-side bars are really there (which, I guess, they would be). The reason I thought this is because even if you enable the stock bars, they are never visible with Bongos/Domino loaded. However, the first thing I noticed when I initially had BT4 running was that the stock bars were once again visible (at least the lower left, lower right, and both right-side bars). I will confirm this in Bongos/Domino later this evening.

Edit: I checked, it does appear Bongos and Domino suppress the default action bars whether checked to be displayed in the settings or not. BT4 will suppress the main two bars, but not the selectable ones (lower left, lower right, right bar, and right bar 2). Perhaps if you could suppress the display of these bars as you do the main left and right bars, the bag spacing would fall into place?

Recently converted to BT4 after using Bongos/Domino for long time. Bongos is no longer being developed, and the author switched to Domino which doesn't have all the features I liked from Bongos.

Anyway, I am loving Bartender4! Though, I am having one problem, and have one suggestion.

The problem is when I open bags the bars I have placed on the right side of my screen are covered up by them. In my previous ActionBars UIs, if I had "always show actionbars" checked in WoW's interface for Actionbars, even though I didn't have any of the default bars shown, it would push the bags over to the left a little and allow my modded actionbars to be seen with them open. The only way I have found to do this with BT4 is to actually have the default right bar actually being shown (not even sure how this is possible with a bar mod running). I can hide that bar, and it will not be seen normally. But, when I try to drag icons over those BT4 bars, the default WoW bar is then visible and superceded the BT bars I have there. Since I use those bars to hold usable quest items and such, this is problematic as I am used to frequently adding and removing items from those bars.

The suggestion, and I would write this off to the coming alignment additions but all the other bars have this, is the ability to make the Micro Menu a vertical bar. All other bars can be vertical except the Micro Menu. Is the ability to change this in the works?

Thanks for a great addon. Looks like BT4 will be what I will convert fully to when 3.0.1 goes live. ;-)
