So here's the kicker. I was rummaging the forums more and found an interesting issue someone else had with CowTip (I believe), and it turned out he had CPU profiling on. I figured "wth, I tried everything else I can think of" so I installed an addon that lets you enable or disable it. Lo and behold, there was the culprit!
I have absolutely no idea how it got enabled in the first place, but I can assume it was around the time my raids turned my FPS below 15 :P Problem solved, thanks for links HunterZ. I'll remember that in case I still need/want to revert to an older version! :)

Aug 22, 2008I recently switched to Pitbull, and I've gotta say I love it... If it wasn't for the FPS drops (normal is 60-65) of down to 10 or even less in some cases.Posted in: Unit Frames
And I can tell you that my machine is fine (3.2ghz dual core CPU, 640mb GFX card and 3gb of RAM) - it should be able to handle anything an addon could throw at it - but it clearly doesn't since I installed Pitbull.
The FPS is usually fine, even in a 25man raid group (which is what I do, basically), but in combat it drops severely. Usually on trash it lands somewhere around 25-30 FPS which is still acceptable but every now and then, usually on bosses, it'll drop below 15 and it's doing my head in :(
What I've tried to do to solve this is:
* Filtered out any addons I dont "Really" need to use.
* Updating both Pitbull and any other addons/libs I kept after filtering.
* Clearing WTF/Cache and SavedVariables
* Using short tags and as few modules of Pitbull as possible
* Using as Many pitbull modules as possible (to be able to remove other addons)
* Editing the Event.lua to tamper with the Local Time thing (since it was 1/1000 to start with I've tried 1/600 and 1/300 out of desperation)
None of the above has really done a big difference, maybe a minor one if any.
I also tried looking for an older version of Pitbull (there was a revision suggested) on both files... and svn... to no avail. I seem to remember being able to download all kinds of versions of Omen right after the 2.3 patch but normally I just use the WAU and I really can't remember/find where the old versions are kept. This would be my next attempt to fix it, if someone could point me in the right direction.
Any ideas on how it can be sorted out yet, or if there will be a release that'll sort it out? I would definatly use Pitbull for all my unit frame needs, but trying to progress in Sunwell and having huge FPS dumps is a really bad combination :(

Just to be clear, are you talking about errors from addons, or just these annoying messages like "Not enough rage/energy"?
I'm talking about Exactly those annoying messages. Cannot do this or that for whatever reason.
Aug 8, 2008Hey. I have a faint memory of an addon existing that does exactly what I need, now the problem I have is that I used that on a rogue about 1? years ago and there is just too many addons to plow through them all. I've tried searching for various key words here, wowi and curse but things like "spam", "filter" or "error frame" returns Way too much, and most of it is regarding gold spamers.Posted in: Addon Ideas
So here I am, requesting an addon that will let me input a string that will be ignored from my error frame. If I'm not remembering wrong, and an addon like this already does exist please point me in the right direction because I can't find it!
Jul 28, 2008If that's your honest oppinion I guess you don't much like the need/greed popup when loot drops or ready checks made easier by not asking in raid chat... Atleast to me asking people to spam either the raid or myself with information that could be obtained by other means, with a better overview is not the best way of doing it. Sadly, though, that's the only option at the moment, unless I break out excel and make a sheet to tab out and look at (which is something I've considered doing).Posted in: Addon Ideas
The suggestion I made was a bit vague and not very demanding, since the last thing I wanted to do was scare off any dev willing to take a look at this. It seems I may have scared them off by posting about too small of a challenge/useability instead.
The final product, in my imagination, would be intuitive, easy to edit on the fly and the addon, given the correct variables to work with, would decide the winner of an item as soon as it's asked to. Now if that doesn't sound easier to you than having the raid members spam the raid with rank, current gear and how bad they need an item I'm not sure what to say...
Edit: by "up-to-date database" you make it sound like something that's going to undergo major changes every day/week, it shouldn't. The whole point of having this system is to make the members of my guild pick the 3 best items possible, in the content we're farming/progressing through, and once they get Nr1. they're done. No more items for that slot.
Jul 20, 2008My guild is currently about to leave DKPs behind and go for the ML distribution system and I'm looking around abit to see if there's any (Ace) addons to support and help make this easier, so far my seach hasn't amounted to much (any, in fact).Posted in: Addon Ideas
I'm sure many of you devs here are aware of the system, but I thought I'd explain it briefly to avoid misunderstandings!
Basically every player in the guild has a wishlist of up to 3 items (ranked from biggest to lowest upgrade obviously) per item slot, and when an item drops a couple of different factors will decide who gets the item. The ones I'm looking for an addon to keep track of is:
1. In what spot the item in question is listed with the memebers who needs it (1-3)
2. What the people who need it are currently wearing.
3. What guild rank each person has (could just be a 1-letter-note you set and update for each member seeing as ranks aren't likely to change very often)
Now the addon I'm looking for is a type of database where you can search for an item (if it's not possible to automate it) and see which players have it in their wishlist with the information above to help decide who would get it. Possibly a filter to not show member who aren't in the raid.
I realize this would be quite hard to do with just installing an addon, so I'm thinking maybe the database is maintained manually and updated manually aswell, as a player recieves items/changes equipment or listed items. But in order to make the distribution itself faster while raiding that work would be worth the effort.
Has anyone given any thought to an addon like this before, perhaps? Maybe even started developing one?
And, to be honest, there might already be one(or more) out there that I've just managed to miss.
Anyway I'd love to hear what you think and also about how hard it would be to code something like this :)
Thanks in advance
Jul 9, 2008Keyword right there, if you decide to give that any thought, Option to pop the window up when you leave combat. I for once prefer it to pop up as the item is being awarded to a player since sometimes wow just bugs and keeps you in combat even though you're not. Also in Hyjal you can be kept in combat for enough time to force you to scroll around to find the DKP cost of an item, which would make the popup pretty much redudant since it's there to edit the item quicker.Posted in: Raid AddOns
Anyway I did two raids since you added the popup and it works like a charm! I'm now officially in love with your addon, and would like to have it's babies. Do I need to ask your permission? :P
Really though, formidable work. I will make sure all the officers of my guild move over to this addon, Afterhours of Skullcrusher thanks you!
Jul 4, 2008I tried exporting to phpBB actually and onto a forum post... There was just a list of participants in that format. Now the reason for this was that, since I'm "experimenting" if you will, I made sure someone else was running CTRT along side me and had that person update the actual DKP site.Posted in: Raid AddOns
Last night I handeled the entire tracking/uploading to our site (which is using EqDKP) and the items were included, with the defined DKP values. Works like a charm! :)
Sorry if I made you worry about nothing, mate.

Currently working on it, have some code done, but there's more to do. The basic idea is simple, but it starts to gets more complicated due to concurrency issues.
Thanks for the quick responce, had a chance to try this out in Hyjal, BT and Sunwell now and it seems to be working fine. Just missing that DKP popup for easier editing in the actual tracking bit.
Another thing though: When exporting the raid there were no DKP values on the items, any chance that is in the works aswell? Would be lovely to just copy/paste and be done with the update :)
Two thumbs up, 4/5 toasters and whatnot. I really like, and will strongly recommend, this addon :)
Jun 29, 2008I've also thought of this a few times, usually I haven't been bothered but the few times I've decided to clean things up I've used HunterZ' method.Posted in: AddOn HELP!
Would it be possible to add flags (if there isn't already) to libraries in WAU so you can just click "remove libs" and then install the addons again with dependencies? It would make things less messy :)
