I have python 2.5.1 installed, too -- I'm a python developer by profession. I'm not sure whether these problems I'm having are particular to my situation or not. I wouldn't think so, but I'm having lots of dumb problems, so I don't know. :/

After checking "preserve newlines as-is" I installed (from URL) the Pawn addon using WUU. My game would crash on loading into a character. I deleted the directory and installed again, and the same thing happened. I downloaded Pawn directly from Curse and installed it, and everything Just Worked.

After a very long run for me, it appears that WUU has hit a troubled patch of road. Is there recognition of these issues, or are these problems specific to my system, and I should maybe be looking at alternate technology?

Lately -- by which I mean the last couple releases -- I've been sporadically getting an error on update like this:
2009-02-02 11:37:08: (WARN) Download of Auc-Advanced failed, URL=http://mirror.auctioneeraddon.com/dl/Packages52/AuctioneerSuite-5.3.4045.zip: [Error 32] The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process: u'c:\\users\\geoff\\appdata\\local\\temp\\Wurm\\Auc-Advanced-r20090202.zip'

I'm not sure what would be causing this -- I don't have threads enabled or anything, but this /looks/ like some kind of race condition.

Also, following advice upthread, I had to enable "Preserve newlines as-is" in the newest version of WUU; for at least a year, I've been using it without (looking at) that option. Did something change in the most recent version that affects end-of-line handling? The problem seemed to be with addons that were using backslash-escaped newlines to build large strings, e.g. for an in-game FAQ or credits panel. Postal is the addon that comes to mind most immediately.

    Thanks!

I'm trying to make use of the new TinyTip -- no sense sticking to old crap when there's new crap to break.

Having some trouble figuring out how to make it all hang together, though. My old config for TinyTip was pretty simple -- anchor both tooltips "TOP" and 150px offset. I tried changing StandAloneConfig.lua to reflect these preferences but it didn't seem to take. I went hunting for "TOP" through the TinyTip source and didn't see anything obvious.

Am I too close to the front edge of dev?
