Yes, but the delay is consistent, so it's not that hard to figure out... but hey, if you can't play your class without a perpetually moving timer bar, go ahead and use one.
We can all play our classes without addons of any sort; there is no need for such stupid cheap remarks as that.
My point is simply that I find the swing timer extremely helpful when playing my hunter, and I think that particular feature is just as integral to the addon as the cast bar. I would not like to see it dismissed as a superfluous feature of Quartz and subsequently dropped or neglected. If you want to imply I'm a noob for that sentiment, you may as well paint all caster DPS classes with the same brush, for we all spend our boss fights watching perpetually moving timer bars.
Pretty much all of those points can be addressed by simply watching your character and/or some type of combat text. No wiggly bar required. :)
Definitely not; you're not going to be watching any animations on your character when you're huddled up with all the other ranged DPS and healers during a boss fight. Good luck even SEEING your character. Also, combat text shows when the shot hits, not when it fires off.
I actually don't know any hunters who use a "swing timer" to calculate shot rotations. :P
Right here, I do!
Auto Shot on the swing timer is invaluable, macros or otherwise.
- for PvP
- for PvE, when you need to move and want to do so between Autos to maximize DPS
- for PvE as Survival
- for testing macros and rotations
- to know when Kill Command has gotten stuck and locked your Auto Shot
It's happened twice with Dominos now, and I've never seen it before.
I disabled all my other addons except FuBar, ButtonFacade, and Dominos, and it did not happen then and I was able to configure Dominos without interruption. So I guess it's Dominos fighting with one of my other addons? Dominos is the only new addon I've added today (well, except ButtonFacade), and again, I have never seen this behaviour before from any other addon.
edit: I configured without interruption, but I could not see how to disable sticky bars. Can we get an option for this? Sticky bars are useful sometimes, but other times I would like to be able to precisely place my bars without having them snap to a position automatically.
I'm just trying out Dominos for the first time, and there's something really wrong with it right now. When I first enter the game and start configuring it, it's all fine. But then it gradually becomes slower and slower to configure, to the point where moving any of the sliders (eg: scale, padding, etc) for any of the bars causes a 3-5 second freeze of the whole game. Not only does this freeze EVERYTHING, not just Dominos, but it also makes fine adjustments on the sliders extremely slow and painful, as a single flick of the mousewheel to increment the slider number by one causes a freeze each time. Moving the slider by dragging is also impossible, as the freezes cause the mouse to "stick" on the slider, meaning the slider still continues to move with the mouse even after you've released the mouse button.
When I finally gave up and went to log out, I got a popup error saying "C stack overflow".
To the people asking for more and more features - I suspect Tuller set-out to create a lightweight action-bar - probably, if I know programmers well enough, because he felt Bongos had become weighed-down by it's featureset and was getting messy.
It seems like there's no distinction being made between features that actually relate to action bars and features related to other UI elements.
I think most people felt Bongos3 was bloated because it had a minimap, casting bars, xp bar, kitchen sink, who knows what else. I doubt anyone ever used any iteration of Bongos for those things. We /did/ use it as a feature-rich ACTION BAR mod, and I believe that's still what people are looking for.
Under Time Limit you need to set a value (in seconds). Cooldowns that are longer than the set time will not show.
Yes, but that just means the Hearthstone icon will show up when its CD is under the time limit. I don't want that - I want to hide the Hearthstone icon altogether, no matter what its CD is.
I still can't get Hearthstone to hide, am I doing something wrong?
I have "Move items to spell cooldowns" turned on, and I have Hearthstone added to the special list of items in the "Cooldowns" tab. In the options there, for Hearthstone, I have "Hide" checked...but the icon still shows.
I'm just curious -- how on earth is a mirror bar or any other casting bar at all related to action bars?
One is for displaying the time and name of castable abilities. The other is for arranging clickable buttons. There is no way these things should exist in the same addon. It's like requesting that a toaster be installed inside your dishwasher.
- individual font settings for each block?
- auto repair at vendor for durability block?
- text colour changes to reflect block info, eg. red for full inventory, green for empty inventory
I also want to second the requests for bag and menu bar. Those are still button bars in the default UI, so I don't think they're outside the scope of an action bar mod at all.
I would love to update from Bongos2 to Mangos (WTB ButtonFacade support and state show options), but if these features aren't in that would mean either passing it up altogether or using two separate mods to handle my bars.
Also, you mentioned 10 bars in your description -- is that number fixed? And does it mean each bar will be restricted to 12 buttons? That would seem very inflexible, and a huge step backwards from Bongos2.
what versiond do you have?
there was a type some commits ago that "hides"/overwrites the first option, but i just tested it with both, the trunk and the branches version and i have the option :)
currently latest is r75493
I just got the latest, and the option is now there and working...only now my Hearthstone is always showing and it can't be disabled. When I add it to the Cooldown Settings -> Save or Hide -> Items list and select the "Hide" option, the selection is ignored and the button stays in its special "Save Button Position" place. When "Hide" is not selected, it joins the Spells group just like my other item cooldowns.
I didn't see this reported before: NPC killing blows are being counted as player KBs. I have NPC KBs disabled, and yet I still get the notification text and sound I have set for players every time I kill a mob.
