I switched to standalones, and the load time improved quite a bit.

But it's still over a minute. What else can I do?

Edit: Tekkub's code is eternal. Warmup, though from Dec 06, still works!

    Here is my load time:
    52s "World entry"
    94s "Total time"

    Addons with red load times:
    3.5s Cartographer_Routes
    2.7s Informant
    1.0s Parrot
    1.6s Cartographer
    2.4s BulkMail2Inbox

WoW Ace updater loads and loads of documentation on how you do it so I'm not going to quote it here.

    Found it here: http://www.wowace.com/forums/index.php?topic=5829.msg102245

If you want to de-embeddify them (but I'd first do a clean-up like I described above), after having everything installed (with embedded libraries), download "!!!StandaloneLibraries" in WoWAceUpdater, then update everything with externals. Then you should have a BUNCH of new folders under Interface\Addons\ . Then run WoWAceUpdater again, and do the "Reinstall all addons" - it should download the actual addons without Externals this time, it'll say so at the start of the download.

Should I worry that !!!StandaloneLibraries shows as Outdated in WAU?

Also, on the final 'Reinstall all addons' step -- it downloads some of them with externals :-/ (even though I have a default to no externals)

I then noticed here http://www.wowace.com/wiki/WowAceUpdater that 1.9 has automatic everything... did an update without externals and it all worked out.

    Thanks!

At the start of this I thought I'd have to go into each folder and manually delete dependencies, so glad there were options :)

Is there a quick way to go from embedded to standalone?

posted a message on Help Me Reduce My Load Time
    Hi,

I am wondering what I can do to reduce my load time on initial log in, which is often several minutes, and sometimes so long that I get disconnected and have to go through it again (though the disconnect only happens the first time).

I looked around for an up to date version of Warmup (the only version I could find was from December last year) or some other addon to tell me which mods are the worst for my long load.

Also, I am using all embedded libraries. Would switching to standalone help with my loadtime? Also, is kosher to switch to standalone? I remember reading about problems using standalone and that embedded was recommended.

    Thanks!

I am running on a 1.86 Ghz machine with 1.5 GB of ram.

posted a message on Class Colors, Latest Cartographer build and 09/25/07 WoW patch.
The flicker on the battle map with group colors enabled is incredibly annoying. It's tedious to have to disable and re-enable group colors for every BG. I'd love to see a fix :)

posted a message on PitBull - How do I show Buffs, then Debuffs underneath?
Hmm, will AltAuras let me do this? (I can't find any documentation on it)

    B B B B B Unitframe Unitframe Unitframe D D D D D D D D D D D D D
    B B B B B Powerbar Powerbar Powerbar P [Target of Target Frame ]

Basically I want my buffs in two rows, going left of the unitframe, but I want my debuffs in one row, going right of the unitframe.

    Thanks!

I just want to say I tried out this addon on my Blood Elf Paladin yesterday from 1-13... got to 13 in 5 hours. It was very painless and fun, especially paired with LightHeaded and TomTom.

    Major props to tekkub!

    Other way around.

Finally found it in the comments on the WoWI page...
How do I hide the mini-frame with objectives when I don't want to have it onscreen?

Put in a feature request, that's something I'd like to have in before release."

    Apologies for my noobness!

Thanks again for this great addon -- I will be following its development closely :)

Read the first post, use the links

    Also, no.

Heh, I read the first post and used the links. I'm going assume that was directed at not being on the Ace SVN, and the 'no' was to anyway to hide the lego brick? Or is it the other way around, that I should read the first post and use the links to figure out how to hide the lego brick (which I've done and still can't figure out how, thus the post) and the 'no' is to being on the Ace SVN.

Is there anyway to hide the 'lego brick' apart from disabling the mod?

Edit: Also, I'd kill for this to be on the Ace SVN so I can get all the updates with my normal WAU update... ;)

We don't have very much control of the minimap, we can change the size/scale of the frame, but we can't change the area it's showing in any way beyond zoom.

Ok, just wanted to make sure it was not possible. Thanks!

snag a minimap addon and turn up the scale

That doesn't quite do what I want, since it just makes the zoomed in minimap BIGGER -- as opposed to showing more area, but still at the zoomed in level.

You know how when you zoom out of your minimap, you can see a wide area, and when you zoom in you can see details up close?

I'd like to be able to make the minmap area itself larger, so that when I'm zoomed in, I can see all the area I could see when I was zoomed out, but at the higher detail level (i.e. so the minimap is now much bigger).

    Is this possible?

    Tiniest of issues:
dying in tempest keep and rezzing (which rezzes you alive) results in my player unitframe showing me as 'dead' even though if I target myself I'm alive.
