    posted a message on Ace3 NewAddon problem, addon already exists
    It's not, but you seem to be on to something, because it reads through the file twice. Now all I need to find out is why. ;)

    Edit: Found it... once in xml, once in .lua. Thanks for the tip :)

    posted a message on Ace3 NewAddon problem, addon already exists
    Hello,

    Whenever I try to register my addon with Ace3, for example

    SuchASimpleThing = LibStub("AceAddon-3.0"):NewAddon('SuchASimpleThing', "AceEvent-3.0", "AceConsole-3.0")

    I get an error saying it already exists. No matter what I named the addon to, it doesn't change the error. I have no idea what info you would like in order to help me, so there it is. Please help.

    posted a message on [ag_UnitFrames] Finding out the name of person in frame X
    Replying to my own topic as I found a better way that also works with all frames (at least all unit frames that are secure).

    <frame name>:GetAttribute("unit")
    For example, (UnitName(aUFplayer:GetAttribute("unit")))

    It doesn't matter what the name of the frame is. It matters what the unit is. Is it your target? Player? Pet? Party1, Party2? etc.

    Okay, how do I find out what unit is in a frame?

    Quote from Rabbit »

    UnitName(aUFframe.unit) ?

    aUFframe doesn't seem to exist.

    Edit: Found it, aUF.units.<frame name>.unit

    Hello,

    I am building a separate addon (my level of expertise is newbish). I am looking for the name of the player in a unitframe. For example I have the frame name aUFgroup1UnitButton1 and I'd like to identify who's in it.

    Any ideas on how I can retrieve this?

    posted a message on Recount
    I noticed yesterday that Recount now seems to come with some kind of Lifebloom "bloom" tracking system.

    For those not "in the know", Lifebloom blooms (the final heal of Lifebloom) has previously been shown as healing done by whoever received the heal due to Combat Log idiocy on Blizzards behalf.

    posted a message on [aguf] Need help with raidframes sorted after class
    Hello,

    I've been trying to make my raidframes display members in the raid based on class instead of group.

    I found the groupFilter modifier, which worked with uppercase class names, but I realized that there weren't enough groups for every class (8 groups, 9 classes). Furthermore, attempts to create a 9th group failed (nothing happened when I clicked the option).

    Clearly, there are two ways to fix this:
    help me create a 9th group, or
    help me modify the groupfilters so they can include more than one class.

    If anyone has any ideas how to accomplish this, or if you have another solution to my original problem, please tell me!

    Edit: This is the error I get when I try to create a 9th group, with the latest revision.

    Date: 2007-03-25 19:48:41
    ID: 53
    Error occured in: Global
    Count: 4
    Message: ..\AddOns\ag_UnitFrames\ag_GroupClass.lua line 156:
    attempt to index field 'parent' (a nil value)

    Edit2: And 10 seconds later, I found out that you can concenate groupFilter with , like SHAMAN,ROGUE.

    Thanks anyway =)

    I remember having that problem aaaages ago with an old version.

    For me it was fixed in an update. However, I clearly remember that there was some "temporary hack" you could use every time they appeared.

    Look through the ag_HideBlizzard.lua and you should be able to find the function.

    posted a message on aUF_BarFader & aUF_RangeCheck?
    I was looking at the code, and it is a really bad addon for determining if anyone is within heal range. The best use I could think of is to determine if it is within decurse range. I found myself wondering if there isn't a better solution, and this is what I came up with. The "IsSpellInRange" uses Rejuvenation, feel free to change to whatever range you want to have.

    function aUFR.TargetInRange(unit)
    if CheckInteractDistance(unit, 4) then
    return true

    elseif (IsSpellInRange("Rejuvenation", unit) == 1) then
    return true
    else
    return false
    end
    end

    Essentially, everyone within 40 yards are 100% visible, everyone who are loaded but beyond 40 yards are 60% visible, and everyone else 30%.

    I tested this in AV with Terrain Distance and Environmental Detail set to max, and I could not notice any decrease in performance.

    Update your version, this should be fixed from a previously bugged version.

    posted a message on aUF_BarFader & aUF_RangeCheck?
    I tested the M version this morning in AV, and while the fade thing is "standard" on target and targetoftarget frame, it fades after half a second or so if my target is in range.

    In other words, it works for me.

    Edit: I tested revision 20885

    New version up with some bug fixes and cosmetic changes:
    - Druid mana can now show absolute values as well

    Sorry to bug you, this does just plain not work.

    This is useless as a bug report.

    In what way does it not work? Not show at all? Show but with wacky graphics? Show but with the wrong figures? Error boex popping up? There are lots of ways that it would fit the description of not working and some info would be nice.

    Steve

    Sorry, with my previous post on the subject I assumed it would be enough.

    The bug is the same as before - you cannot show druidmana as lower text. It does not show. No error text.
